Chapter 81 · Volume 1

Vice Pavilion Master

Yun Heng instructed everyone to continue with their work before walking into the Large Refining Workshop.
Deep inside the workshop, Xuan Zheng was inspecting a newly crafted artifact.
Seeing Yun Heng arrive, he immediately set down his tools and stepped forward to bow. “Young Lord.”
Yun Heng nodded. “I've been in secluded cultivation recently, so I didn't come to see you earlier.”
She had originally planned to enter seclusion only briefly. But once she actually began cultivating, she lost all track of time. Now that four and a half years had passed, the Tianheng Broken Sword should have long since been fully repaired.
“Subordinate heard that the Young Lord was in secluded cultivation on Main Peak, so I did not dare disturb you,” Xuan Zheng said. “Your sword has been fully repaired.”
With that, he retrieved a long, narrow sword box from his storage artifact.
Xuan Zheng lifted the lid. Immediately, a clear, crisp sword chime resonated from within.
The long sword lying quietly in the box vibrated slightly as a silver-cyan glow flowed slowly along its intact blade.
Xuan Zheng presented it to Yun Heng with both hands.
The repaired Tianheng Sword showed no trace of its former, broken state.
Its blade was slender and completely translucent silver-cyan.
Dark patterns forged from Starfall Profound Gold ran along its spine, dotted with countless tiny glints of silver light like stars in a night sky.
A faint, cold light glinted at the edge, so sharp it seemed capable of slicing through the surrounding air itself.
The Absolute Beginning Sword Marrow and Azure Sword Marrow had completely merged into the blade.
The damaged array lines inside the weapon were fully restored, allowing its sword intent to flow far more naturally.
The hilt was a steady dark black, tightly wrapped in delicate silver threads.
Yun Heng reached out and took it.
The moment the long sword touched her palm, its blade hummed softly.
A familiar, intimate warmth surged up through her hand.
At the same time, the System's notification popped up right before her.
【Detected that the Tianheng Broken Sword has completed its repair and evolution.】
【Tianheng Broken Sword has officially evolved into: Tianheng Sword.】
Yun Heng could not hide the joy in her eyes.
Holding the Tianheng Sword, she turned it over and inspected it repeatedly, unable to tear her gaze away from the blade.
Whether in appearance, sword Qi, or the feel in her hand, it was infinitely superior to how it had been as a broken sword.
The connection between her and the Tianheng Sword was also far tighter than before.
Barely requiring conscious effort, spiritual Qi inside her body naturally flowed through the hilt and into the blade.
“Truly magnificent.”
Yun Heng showed a satisfied smile.
She sheathed the sword and looked at Xuan Zheng. “Thank you for your hard work.”
Xuan Zheng immediately replied, “You are too polite, Young Lord. This was only my duty.”
Yun Heng strapped the Tianheng Sword to her waist and asked, “Do you have an airship here suitable for long-distance solo travel?”
Xuan Zheng pondered for a moment, then quickly nodded. “I do.”
He retrieved a palm-sized rectangular box from his storage bag.
Opening the lid revealed a miniature airship only as long as a palm.
The airship was light silver throughout, with sleek, flowing lines and neat, intricate array patterns carved across its hull.
“This airship is called the Liujing Vessel, a Heaven-grade flying artifact.”
“It travels extremely fast. As long as enough spirit stones are inserted, it can fly continuously without requiring a cultivator to constantly inject spiritual Qi.”
“The exterior comes with a protective barrier that ordinary cultivators below the Soul Transformation Realm can hardly threaten.”
“It also has an automatic route-finding array carved inside.”
“The Young Lord need only set the destination in advance, and it will adjust its course automatically without needing manual control.”
“If it encounters danger during flight, the Liujing Vessel will issue an alert ahead of time.”
Yun Heng was pleasantly surprised; it truly had quite a few features.
Worthy of being a Heaven-grade artifact.
With the Liujing Vessel, traveling from the Eastern Region to the Central State would be much more convenient.
Yun Heng took the box containing the Liujing Vessel and stored it into her storage space.
“I'll take this with me.”
Xuan Zheng bowed respectfully.
With everything prepared, Yun Heng shifted her thought and departed the Guiyuan Spirit Domain.
The scenery before her shifted.
The next instant, Yun Heng appeared inside her guest room at Wanbao Tower.
The room was quiet.
Though four and a half years had passed, the furnishings inside remained exactly as they were before her seclusion.
The people of Wanbao Tower certainly possessed a good sense of propriety.
She hadn't stepped out of her door for four and a half years, yet no one had come to disturb her.
Yun Heng retrieved her Breath-Concealing Array Plate and Sound-Isolating Talisman, opened the door, and walked out.
Just as she left the room, she bumped into a Wanbao Tower errand boy coming down the hallway from the other direction.
Seeing Yun Heng, the attendant froze for a moment before delight broke across his face. “Miss Yun? You've emerged from seclusion?”
He hurried over to Yun Heng and bowed respectfully.
Yun Heng nodded. “Yes, I just emerged. I am leaving Tianque City. Before I go, I would like to bid farewell to your Pavilion Master.”
Hearing that Yun Heng was leaving, the servant visibly paused, but he quickly recovered. “Please follow me to the reception room first, Miss Yun.”
“Alright.”
Yun Heng followed the servant to Wanbao Tower's reception room and sat alone waiting.
About half an incense stick's time later, footsteps sounded outside. Shen Guanlan walked in with brisk steps.
“Miss Yun.”
“Pavilion Master Shen.”
After exchanging greetings, Shen Guanlan sat across from Yun Heng.
Yun Heng did not beat around the bush and directly stated her purpose. “I have just concluded my seclusion today. Thank you, Pavilion Master Shen and Wanbao Tower, for taking care of me over these years. Now that I am preparing to leave the Eastern Region, I came specifically to bid you farewell.”
Upon hearing this, Shen Guanlan's expression remained natural, displaying no displeasure whatsoever. He smiled. “Miss Yun is too courteous. That you were willing to trust Wanbao Tower and reside here for many years is Wanbao Tower's honor in itself. Now that you are leaving, I would like to offer you a gift.”
Saying that, he retrieved a token from his storage bag.
The token was deep gold throughout, its edges carved with intricate yet orderly cloud patterns.
On the front was an image of Wanbao Tower's pavilion, while the back was inscribed with a clear character for “Command.”
Spiritual glow swirled across its surface, making it obvious that this was no ordinary identity token.
When Yun Heng saw the token clearly, surprise flashed in her eyes.
Noticing that she might have misunderstood, Shen Guanlan hastily explained, “Truth be told, Miss Yun, your stay at Wanbao Tower during this period has brought us no small amount of benefit.”
At this point, the smile on Shen Guanlan's face deepened. “Once many cultivators learned that Miss Yun was residing here, they came to Wanbao Tower specifically because of you. Over these years, Wanbao Tower's clientele has multiplied several times over, and business has grown significantly better. Truthfully, Wanbao Tower was the one who benefited from Miss Yun.”
Hearing this, Yun Heng already understood Shen Guanlan's general meaning.
Her stay at Wanbao Tower had invisibly brought a great deal of fame and business to the establishment.
Shen Guanlan bringing out the Pavilion Master Token now was partly to express his gratitude.
On the other hand, he likely wanted to thoroughly bind her to the Eastern Region's Wanbao Tower.
