The entrance to the teaching building was swarming with people.
A group of transmigrators had blocked the front, side, and back doors—even the fire exits were sealed tight.
The crowd wore a variety of expressions, ranging from anger to excitement. Some opportunistic individuals even took the chance to fish in troubled waters, stealing student cards from the throng.
The goal of this group was clear: to prevent anyone from entering the teaching building.
“What are you all doing blocking the way? Move aside, I have an exam to take!” A transmigrator wearing grey clothes squeezed to the front of the crowd, his face etched with anxiety and impatience.
He had spent the entire day reading in the library, memorizing a vast amount of material. However, it was only short-term memory and wouldn't last long, so he needed to take an extra exam immediately to earn more points.
But with so many people blocking the entrance, he couldn't get in.
“No, you're not allowed to take any exams!” A muscular transmigrator at the very front extended his arm, standing tall like a wall of meat. His gaze was fierce.
The transmigrator in grey took a step back, looking at the others around him who were also blocked outside—anxious and angry, yet not daring to speak up.
Someone tried to bypass the crowd from the side, only to be roughly pushed back.
Someone attempted to use a teleportation spell to get inside, only to discover that the area around the teaching building was under a magic-sealing field.
Others cursed under their breath, unwilling to risk a direct confrontation, and turned toward other teaching buildings to try their luck.
Unfortunately, every single entrance was blocked.
A transmigrator in bib pants stood on the highest step of the main entrance. His middle-part hairstyle was combed meticulously, and he stood with his hands on his hips, looking down at the crowd as he shouted an explanation:
“Everyone, do not worry! We are not bad people. We have simply been persecuted by this school and hope to speak with the leadership. We were forced to resort to these measures. We are fighting for everyone’s interests, so we ask for your cooperation.”
His voice was gentle, like a leader soothing the masses. His gaze swept over those blocked outside, his attitude seemingly very sincere. “The school rules are far too harsh! People are dying every day. I cannot tolerate our lives being treated with such contempt!”
“We are not livestock! We are not chives to be harvested! We are not tools to be used at will! We are True Gods, beings who stand at the pinnacle of countless worlds! We should not be locked in this damned school like a flock of lambs waiting for the slaughter!”
The crowd applauded, many with reddened eyes.
Those standing with the man in bib pants to block the doors grew increasingly excited, their fervor turning into zealotry.
They felt they were doing something great, that their actions were righteous and could change everyone's unfortunate fate.
Among those blocked outside, some were moved to tears by the speech and quickly joined the ranks of the protesters, their expressions becoming equally fanatical.
Others, however, turned and fled, their faces filled with terror.
It was terrifying. That guy in the bib pants with the middle-part hairstyle could actually incite so many transmigrators to risk their lives with him and even inspire such fanatical worship.
This person was definitely a master; they had to stay far away from him!
Otherwise, they might get duped into oblivion before they knew it.
Suddenly, the loudspeaker crackled to life.
The long-absent voice remained as emotionless as ever, echoing from above into every corner of the campus.
【New transmigrator Ji Nibumei and his accomplices have gathered a crowd to cause a disturbance and block the examination rooms, a serious violation of School Rule 47, Clause 3. Punishment is now being administered.】
Ji Nibumei’s expression shifted. The smile froze on his face, and his pupils constricted sharply.
The worst-case scenario had occurred. The school had no intention of communicating with him; they had moved straight to punishment.
He opened his mouth to say something, but he suddenly took flight.
Specifically, he was blown apart.
His body split down the middle, his limbs flying in four directions, his head soaring into the sky, and his torso slamming onto the ground, kicking up a mist of blood.
He was literally drawn and quartered.
Blood gushed from the severed limbs, spraying in all directions and soaking those nearby.
The scene fell into a deathly silence. Many people froze where they stood, at a total loss.
Some snapped out of it and immediately realized things had taken a turn for the worse. They turned to run.
But it was already too late.
The announcement had clearly stated that the ones who had seriously violated the rules were Ji Nibumei and his accomplices.
The culprit had been punished, and there was no way the accomplices would escape.
Sure enough, one by one, those who had come with Ji Nibumei to cause trouble were slashed.
They weren't blown into pieces, but each lost at least one complete limb, leaving them missing arms or legs.
Screams of agony rose one after another. Everyone snapped back to reality through the intense pain, realizing what a foolish thing they had done today. The looks they cast at Ji Nibumei were suddenly filled with pure malice.
They resented the school for maiming them, but they resented Ji Nibumei even more for bewitching them.
Before long, silence returned to the entrance of the teaching building.
Although Ji Nibumei had lost the ability to move, he was still alive. He summoned his pet—a chicken that also wore bib pants.
The chicken performed a bizarre, bewitching dance and threw a basketball.
The basketball forcefully drew the attention of everyone nearby. Seizing the moment, the chicken snatched up Ji Nibumei’s limbs, head, and torso in its beak and flew away.
The people who had been excitedly revolting just moments ago also scattered, dragging their mangled limbs as they fled.
A small number of people were in such terrible condition—having been slashed multiple times over the past few days—that they lacked the strength to flee and could only lie on the ground.
Blood gathered into small, iridescent streams, which were quickly absorbed by the ground.
The transmigrators who had been blocked from their exams watched this scene without the slightest hint of schadenfreude; instead, they felt a heavy sense of dread.
Some were able to walk into the re-exam rooms as usual to take their tests.
Others, however, were so shaken by the sight of Ji Nibumei's fate that their resolve faltered. Knowing they probably wouldn't perform well, they simply turned and left, heading back to the library to continue studying the knowledge points they hadn't yet mastered.
No one looked back at the blood-soaked ground; it would disappear soon anyway.
Yue Shi stood by the window on the second floor of the library, his gaze distant as he watched the entire farce unfold at the teaching building entrance.
Even with such a commotion, no school leadership had appeared. Did this school even have leaders?
Or was that voice from the loudspeaker the leader?
...
Ten minutes later.
The transmigrators who had been lying immobile at the entrance of the teaching building had all been carried away.
The lucky ones were taken by friends or companions.
As for the unlucky ones, there was no telling who had taken them, where they had been brought, or what they would face.
Perhaps they would be controlled by others and forced into debt until they were drained dry, but even that wasn't the worst-case scenario.
The real fear was that some might have already entered the cafeteria kitchen, only to be seen on the menu tomorrow.
...
In the distance, many who had been observing the student uprising shook their heads and sighed.
Trying to take a shortcut like this simply wouldn't work; blocking doors and rioting was useless.
As it stood, the optimal solution remained studying—memorizing every book in the library, earning high scores, and graduating to leave this place.
