The Captain's method of attack was the most simple and brutal.
He held a silver-white pistol of a peculiar design, with a long, slender barrel and a surface covered in complex patterns.
There was no sound when he pulled the trigger, only a needle-thin beam of light that shot from the muzzle.
The Information Minister was retreating as the beam grazed his shoulder and struck the wall behind him.
A circular hole less than a centimeter in diameter appeared in the wall.
Yet, that hole was bottomless.
The Information Minister's expression changed. He looked down at his shoulder to see a charred mark on his clothes and a burn on his skin.
Fortunately, it had missed by a hair.
The battle erupted in full force.
The executives finally reacted and began to counterattack.
The bearded executive's Water Release transformed into countless water arrows that shot toward the demon man.
The demon man let out a roar, the flames atop his head expanding as he focused entirely on offense, ignoring defense.
Fire and water collided, and steam filled the air, making vision even more blurred.
The Information Minister pulled a handful of powder from his robes and tossed it into the air. The powder transformed into countless tiny flying insects that buzzed toward the Captain.
The Captain frowned and fired another shot. The beam swept through the air, and the insects fell in swarms, but their numbers were overwhelming, with more coming in waves.
The Chief Scientist, hiding within his golden light shield, pulled out various gadgets and hurled them all at the three Reincarnators.
The remaining executives coordinated from the sidelines, using a myriad of tricks.
The sides were evenly matched.
The Reincarnators indeed had many methods—high-tech weapons, supernatural abilities, and various mysterious artifacts.
However, the Deep Blue Route executives were no pushovers. How could anyone reach such a position without a few life-saving tricks up their sleeves?
Lights flashed and explosions thundered throughout the hall as the shockwaves from various energy collisions made the walls tremble.
As the battle reached a stalemate, the Captain grew irritable, but he soon noticed a strange phenomenon.
Although the Deep Blue Route side had the advantage in numbers, every individual held back when they struck.
The bearded executive's Water Release seemed fierce, but after every wave of attack, he would quietly retreat a few steps to increase the distance.
The Information Minister's insects were impressive in scale, but he himself remained hidden in the furthest corner.
Only the Chief Scientist was being earnest, throwing gadgets all over the place.
The others all had their own schemes, wanting someone else to take the lead to reduce their own consumption.
Some even took advantage of the chaos to slip toward the back, hoping to escape the battlefield.
They were all keeping trump cards in reserve, waiting for others to risk their lives.
Meanwhile, things weren't right on the Reincarnators' side either.
The demon man was becoming increasingly frenzied and manic, completely disregarding defense and attacking indiscriminately, as if he had become a true demon.
The vampire was no better. He nearly struck his teammates several times, having lost all reason like a rabid beast.
The Captain observed his teammates' states as he fought.
Something was wrong.
These two were becoming more and more unstable.
While they were usually arrogant, they shouldn't have lost control to this extent.
In their current state, it was as if their minds were being influenced by something. They were completely ignoring tactics and unconsciously attacking their own allies.
Just now, one of the demon man's punches had nearly smashed into the vampire. The vampire's black mist had also grazed the Captain several times.
The Captain's brow furrowed deeper.
He hadn't lost control, but dark thoughts were beginning to surface in his mind as well.
For instance, he thought about letting these two out-of-control fools die so he could hog the rewards for himself. Or perhaps he should launch a wide-range indiscriminate attack to eliminate the most threatening targets first, regardless of his teammates' lives.
But he suppressed those thoughts.
Because he was the Captain.
He forced himself to stay calm, continuing to observe the battlefield for weaknesses.
As he clashed with the Deep Blue Route executives, an inexplicable sense of familiarity washed over him.
This feeling wasn't like fighting enemies from an unknown world; it felt more like fighting an opposing Reincarnator squad.
The various methods used by the Deep Blue Route executives looked incredibly familiar.
The battle continued.
The Deep Blue Route executives fell one by one.
The bearded executive had his head crushed by the demon man's fist, his eyes filled with resentment. He could have dodged it, but he had chosen to retreat and let a colleague block the punch, only to be anticipated by the demon man.
The Information Minister was still trying to flee when the Captain's beam pierced his chest. He had a teleportation talisman that he usually couldn't bear to use, but now that the critical moment had arrived, he had to.
Then he realized that his teleportation talisman was being held by another executive.
When was it stolen?!
The Information Minister didn't have time to think before he died.
The executive who had stolen the teleportation talisman prepared to escape. He crushed the talisman, and ripples appeared in space.
Unfortunately, the teleportation failed.
"How can this be?"
He also didn't have time to think before the Captain shot him dead.
Meeting the same end as the Information Minister, they truly were a miserable pair.
The Chief Scientist exhausted all his gadgets. He had little combat power of his own, and with no one left to help him, he screamed as the vampire bit him to death.
The others fell in succession.
Some were hit by friendly fire, some missed their chance to counterattack due to hesitation, and some simply dragged someone down with them as they died.
In the end, only one person remained standing.
The CEO.
He stood in the center of the hall without a single wound, his clothes not even wrinkled.
The executives' blood was splattered everywhere, except for the spot where he stood, which remained perfectly clean.
The demon man and the vampire stared at him with crazed eyes.
The Captain gripped his gun tightly, his gaze heavy.
Three against one.
But all three of them were in poor condition.
The demon man and the vampire were on the verge of losing control, and the Captain had consumed most of his stamina. Those dark thoughts were still surging in his heart, held back only by his sheer willpower.
A curl appeared at the corner of the CEO's mouth. He didn't seem to care about the deaths of the executives or the destruction of the island.
"You're quite good fighters. You're Reincarnators, aren't you?"
The Captain's expression changed instantly. "How do you know that?"
One of the Reincarnators' prohibitions was that they were absolutely forbidden from revealing the existence of the Lord God or Reincarnators to anyone outside the Lord God Space. Violators would be obliterated.
How did this man know about Reincarnators?!
The CEO did not answer.
Instead, the Captain suddenly recalled many details from after they had landed on the island.
The methods used by these executives—the Ninjutsu and the various gadgets—gave him a sense of familiarity, as if he were facing another Reincarnator squad.
The buildings on the island and the sci-fi aesthetic also felt familiar.
The Deep Blue Route executives knew about the existence of Reincarnators.
Considering the objective of this main mission was to hunt down everyone in Deep Blue Route...
Could it be...
The demon man let out a roar and was about to pounce.
The Captain raised a hand to stop him, staring at the CEO.
"Just who are you people?"
The CEO gave a contemptuous sneer and pulled a small badge from his robes.
The badge was pitch-black, its surface engraved with complex symbols.
With a gentle squeeze, he crushed the badge.
In the next second, his figure began to fade.
"Reincarnators are indeed powerful."
"Since you have come from afar, why not stay? Deep Blue Route will take good care of you."
