Finally, Yue Shi reached the top floor of the central main building of Cloud Rest Villa.
At the end of the hallway stood a pair of exceptionally heavy, expensive-looking double wooden doors.
Two tall, sturdy guards stood on either side of the entrance, perfectly upright and in a state of high alert.
Yue Shi’s gaze bypassed the guards and landed on the tightly closed doors.
Would Su Yuanhe be inside?
Yue Shi’s heart couldn't help but speed up a few beats.
The Insight vision in his forehead opened.
The two guards at the door… were just ordinary humans?
A sense of dissonance slowly welled up from the depths of Yue Shi’s heart.
The journey here had been far too smooth.
From the underground parking garage to the top floor, he had only encountered ordinary staff members. Even the guards here were merely stronger than average and could be easily killed in an instant.
He hadn't encountered a single transcendent.
Back when they were having the meeting at the Investigation Bureau, the people following Su Yuanhe were clearly his trusted confidants.
The glamorous woman, the massive brute, and that ordinary-looking personal bodyguard were all nowhere to be seen.
This was absolutely not normal.
Yue Shi wasn't about to treat others like fools. As a leader of the Glory Association and the head of Lab 0, Su Yuanhe’s intelligence was definitely up to par.
High-ranking old men like him were always old foxes—cautious and suspicious. It was impossible for him to entrust his safety to a few ordinary humans.
Yue Shi couldn't help but grow wary. Was this room another trap?
“Even if it is a trap, I have to see what’s inside!”
No longer hesitating, he swiftly dealt with the two guards at the door and kicked the room doors open with a heavy blow.
The thick wooden doors slammed inward, revealing a brightly lit and luxuriously decorated room. Sitting on a sofa in the very center was a single person—Su Yuanhe!
He was wearing a silk robe and holding a glass of red wine, seemingly enjoying a drink alone.
Hearing the loud crash of the doors breaking, he turned his head in shock, his face wearing a perfectly timed expression of alarm and panic.
Yue Shi’s Insight vision instantly swept across the entire room.
There was no strange or abnormal information.
Could it be that there were no traps or ambushes here?
He looked at Su Yuanhe again, only to find that the text appearing over him was 【ordinary human】.
“An ordinary human?” Yue Shi’s doubts deepened.
He remembered clearly what kind of role Su Yuanhe played in those inhuman experiments in Lab 0.
Could such a core figure be just an ordinary human?
Yue Shi frowned deeply, thinking for a moment…
Wait, why am I thinking so much?
It’s a waste of brain cells.
His enemy was right in front of him. Those mean, ugly eyes and the red birthmark on his temple all served to trigger Yue Shi’s murderous rage!
Just having that face made him deserve to die!
“Who? Who is it?!” Su Yuanhe lunged to his feet, eyes darting toward the door. His wine glass fell onto the carpet, and the dark red liquid began to spread.
His face was etched with terror, and his body trembled slightly. His reaction perfectly matched his current situation.
This was exactly how a pampered old man should look when a powerful enemy suddenly intruded into his private space.
Yue Shi remained silent, his hidden state still active. He approached step by step with the gait of a reaper.
Su Yuanhe couldn't see his enemy, but his intuition felt a chilling killing intent. The oppressive pressure drew closer and closer, undoubtedly intensifying his fear.
He stumbled backward, his voice shaking. “Friend, what do you want? Is it money? You can take everything here, just don't hurt me!”
Yue Shi remained silent and reached out violently.
Rip!
He grabbed a handful of Su Yuanhe’s hair and tore off a patch of his scalp, revealing the bright red flesh beneath.
“Aaahhh!!!” Su Yuanhe let out a blood-curdling scream, collapsing to the floor in agony as blood flowed down his face.
“Who on earth are you? Why are you doing this!” He clutched his head, his breathing heavy, his eyes filled with a mix of fury and terror.
Because of our history, of course!
The violence in Yue Shi’s heart was almost overflowing. He raised his hand again and gripped Su Yuanhe’s left arm!
“Aaaagh!” An even more miserable scream rang out.
Su Yuanhe’s left arm snapped, twisted several times like a pretzel. The intense pain nearly made him black out.
“Stop, please stop! What do you want?” Tears and snot streamed down his face as he began to plead piteously.
“Money? Power? I can give you everything! My resources are beyond your imagination! Just say the word!”
Yue Shi crouched down, his gaze scrutinizing the face distorted by pain.
Every detail of this old face was identical to the enemy in his memories.
Yet he still didn't speak. He simply reached out and pressed down on Su Yuanhe’s right leg.
“No, no!” Su Yuanhe screamed in terror.
“What do you want? Say something! Even if you want to kill me, at least let me know why!”
In the next second, Su Yuanhe’s lower leg was snapped.
The sound of human bone breaking was crisp and pleasant to the ear.
Su Yuanhe’s eyes rolled back, and he was too pained to even speak.
It was quite a feat for the old man; he actually hadn't passed out from the pain.
Yue Shi gave him a moment to breathe so he wouldn't die too quickly.
Su Yuanhe slumped on the ground, his face like wax and drenched in cold sweat. A rasping sound came from his throat as if he were about to die.
How could that be allowed?
Yue Shi decided to help the old gentleman refresh his mind.
He grabbed Su Yuanhe by the neck, lifting him like a radish, and then pressed his forehead against the wall.
Under Su Yuanhe’s terrified gaze, Yue Shi moved.
He ground the man’s head against the wall.
It was as if he were finely grinding ink.
It was a pity the wall was relatively smooth and not rough enough.
But Yue Shi had plenty of strength and methods!
Flesh was ground harshly against the wall, splitting open and oozing fresh red juice.
Su Yuanhe, who had been on the verge of collapse from the pain, suffered an even more intense agony that gave him the strength to wail again.
“Who are you?!”
“Is it because of the lab?”
“Are you an escaped subject coming back for revenge?”
“We can talk! I was forced into those things back then!”
“Aaahhh! Stop it first!”
“Which subject number are you?”
“I’m about to die, and you still won't show yourself and let me see you!”
“Ah, it hurts so much!”
“I don't even know who you are! Don't you think a revenge like this isn't satisfying at all?”
“Say something, damn it!!!”
He rambled on, his words sounding like the desperate pleas of a dying man.
But every sentence subtly poked at Yue Shi’s pain points. Yue Shi almost couldn't resist dropping his hidden state to trade insults with him and show him just how toxic his tongue could be.
Cursing was also an effective way to vent emotions.
But Yue Shi didn't do it. He simply increased the pressure in his hands.
Accompanied by the old man’s wailing, the sound of the grinding slowly changed. The surface flesh had been ground away, and the dull white skull scraped against the wall, making a bone-chilling noise.
Human skulls were indeed quite hard.
