“All three have powerful control-type abilities; they really do want to take me alive,” Yue Shi sneered inwardly.
With this combination of powers, once a target was caught by the initial control, an ordinary transcendent would find it impossible to escape.
Meanwhile, the three of them stood together, looking around.
“He’s nowhere to be found,” the young man muttered, his brow furrowed in frustration.
“Don’t worry, the target is definitely still here. He can’t escape,” the middle-aged man said.
The young woman curled her lips into a faint smile. “It’s rare for a target to possess spatial abilities. I thought all spatial ability users were with us.”
The young man snorted. “The world is big. There are bound to be some who slipped through the cracks. It’s also possible he’s using a supernatural object.”
“The target might be very good at hiding. The serpentine girl is most likely dead, so don’t let your guard down,” the middle-aged man warned.
“That trashy bitch? It’s better if she’s dead,” the young woman said mockingly. Then, she shouted at her surroundings:
“Hey, come out, little mouse! You can’t escape big sister’s palm~”
Her voice was soft and sweet, carrying a strange magic. Her gaze swept around, searching for any clues.
“Hiding is so boring. Why not come out and play a game with me? Maybe... we could even be friends?”
She continued with low-level suggestive baiting, attempting to shake Yue Shi’s resolve.
Her brother, the young man, looked around warily. An eerie azure flame flickered quietly in his palm, ready to erupt at any moment.
The middle-aged man remained silent, his eyes scanning every inch of space.
Yue Shi turned a deaf ear to their words and offered no response. Talking only led to mistakes; it was better to end this quickly.
His killing intent first locked onto the young woman—the one with the Vase ability. This ability was too disruptive. Once she fully activated it, Yue Shi couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t be affected.
Previously, Yue Shi had been quite overconfident, believing his defenses could block anything.
But just now, that serpentine girl had seen through his position, and his concealment had seemingly failed. It served as a reminder that the abilities of the demon bird system weren’t omnipotent. He had become a bit arrogant lately and lost his vigilance.
Therefore, he didn’t dare underestimate these transcendents from the Glory Association.
Yue Shi silently approached the woman from behind.
However, the moment he moved to strike, the middle-aged man seemed to sense the killing intent through some instinct or a subtle change in the air. His eyes snapped open.
“Mountainous Burden!”
A vast, invisible force descended instantly, crushing everything in the vicinity indiscriminately.
Although the middle-aged man couldn’t see Yue Shi, he felt the threat and acted immediately. Since he couldn’t lock onto the target, he would attack everything around him!
Yue Shi felt the air grow heavy, as if an invisible mountain were truly crashing down on him.
One layer of his Demon Feather Barrier shattered.
He lost a single feather—and that was it.
“Brother!” Seeing the middle-aged man take action, the woman cried out. At the same time, she unhesitatingly activated her Vase ability.
Her posture instantly became incredibly graceful, and her skin took on a jade-like luster. She looked like a piece of exquisite, fragile art.
An indescribable, intense sense of beauty spread outward like a tide, forcibly capturing the attention of all living things within range.
Even her companions, the young man and the middle-aged man, momentarily glazed over. An uncontrollable urge to “quietly admire her” welled up in them, causing their movements to slow.
Yue Shi looked at her for a second or two, unaffected.
This level of mental interference wasn’t enough to penetrate his defenses.
Seizing the moment while the two men were dazed by the Vase ability—
Crack!
The clear sound of bone snapping echoed.
“Ugh!”
In her Vase state, the young woman’s physical defense was extremely low. Her body jolted.
Her neck had been forcibly twisted three hundred and sixty degrees.
She died instantly.
The extreme beauty and the forced attraction vanished along with her life.
“Sister!!!” The young man was the first to react, letting out a piercing roar, his eyes nearly bursting with rage.
The cursed fire in his palm exploded, transforming into several angry dragons that bombarded the area around the woman.
The middle-aged man’s expression also shifted drastically. Shocked and enraged, he pushed his Mountainous Burden ability to the limit, crushing the surroundings in an attempt to force the hidden target out.
But after his successful strike, Yue Shi had already changed positions and moved far away.
Boom!
The azure cursed fire struck empty air, scorching the floor and walls until they gleamed with a porcelain finish.
“You bastard, come out! I’m going to kill you!!” The young man had gone completely mad. His eyes were bloodshot, and he no longer cared about the orders to capture the target alive. He began firing the flames of his Celadon Curse indiscriminately in all directions.
The temperature in the parking garage soared as large areas were covered in azure fire and began to undergo porcelainization.
Unable to pinpoint the target, the middle-aged man could only expand the range of Mountainous Burden. Even if he couldn’t force the target out, he could at least slow their movement.
The scene fell into a state of chaotic frenzy.
However, amidst this indiscriminate bombardment, Yue Shi danced on the edge of a blade. Layers of his Demon Feather Barrier shattered and were quickly replenished, isolating him from the aftershocks of the cursed fire and the crushing pressure.
He observed calmly, a patient hunter waiting for the perfect moment.
Finally, in the brief moment of exhaustion after the young man vented his power, Yue Shi quietly moved behind him and whispered into his ear:
“Your time is up.”
The Death Sentence descended. The young man’s breath stopped abruptly, and the furious expression froze on his face. The red faded from his eyes, replaced by a dull, lifeless gray.
He fell forward stiffly. When his body hit the ground, it actually made a crisp, clinking sound.
“No!!!” The middle-aged man was pale with fright. The successive deaths of his companions caused fear to overwhelm his anger.
However confident he had been when he accepted this mission was how pathetic he looked now.
He turned to flee.
But it was already too late.
Yue Shi would not leave any survivors.
He caught up to the middle-aged man and delivered a vicious kick to his waist.
The man collapsed. Yue Shi grabbed him by the head and, amidst his agonizing wails, forcibly folded the man in half.
The back of the man’s head touched his own heels.
It was a rare life experience.
Yue Shi figured it probably felt similar to being cut in half at the waist.
Unfortunately, Yue Shi was in a hurry today and couldn’t offer him any more “wonderful” experiences. He could only let the man go offline in a messy fashion.
The middle-aged man’s life force faded, and his corpse slumped to the ground.
Yue Shi quickly absorbed the source from the three transcendents.
In the mysterious space, the progress bar on the Full Moon Stone Tablet glowed brightly, finally passing the second scale marker!
He didn’t check it immediately.
Looking at the mess and the three corpses, Yue Shi first destroyed their brains, then raised his hand again.
“Banish!”
