The driver’s eyes were vacant, his fear and panic gone, replaced by a numb focus as he gripped the steering wheel. The armored transport vehicle veered in a sharp arc, accelerating toward Amber City.
Yue Shi remained hidden on the roof, a cold smirk playing on his lips.
As the vehicle’s route deviated significantly from its intended path, an internal alarm was automatically triggered.
Unfortunately, it was far too late to do anything about it.
In the wasteland outside Amber City, the Clown and the director were currently tearing the world apart in their battle.
The transport vehicle, like a horse off its leash, plunged headlong and defenseless into that terrifying battlefield filled with chaotic colors, twisted rules, and pervasive mental contamination!
Vroom!
Almost the instant it entered, the vehicle’s external armor groaned under the overwhelming pressure of the chaotic energy fluctuations.
As an ordinary human, the driver didn't even have time to scream. Caught between the Clown's indiscriminate mental contamination and the crushing weight of the director's Dictatorial Domain, his eyes rolled back, foam bubbled at his mouth, and he died instantly.
The four transcendents were in even worse shape. Their only stroke of luck was being unconscious, which spared them from directly facing the Clown's madness.
In the center of the battlefield, the Clown was exerting his full power, yet he was still being suppressed by the director's endless stream of rules. He was forced back step by step, his evening gown torn to shreds.
Even so, the Clown remained as stubborn as ever, his mouth never ceasing its stream of insults.
Right then, a pitch-black raven managed to fly through the chaotic energy storm, silently landing on the Clown's shoulder.
The raven lifted a wing, pointing precisely toward Amber City. Its beak opened and closed, conveying a silent message.
A moment later, the raven was completely shredded by the surrounding violent energy, dissipating into wisps of black smoke.
The Clown’s crazed eyes suddenly lit up, his thoughts instantly clearing.
“Hahaha! You old bastard, I’m done playing with you!” He let out a string of shrill, wild laughter. The brilliant veils flickered violently as he began to shift his position toward Amber City.
“Trying to run?” the director roared, immediately giving chase.
The battlefield moved with them.
High in the sky, the hidden Yue Shi watched it all silently, his smile growing more malicious.
The Clown liked being a fun-seeker?
Boss Pi treated Amber City like a playground?
Heh.
Since things were already a mess, he might as well stir the muddy waters even more violently!
Because of the mysterious Director Tang, Yue Shi had never dared to be too reckless in Amber City.
Now was a rare opportunity to use others to incite a small disaster.
It was the perfect time to test Director Tang's capabilities!
As for whether Amber City would be destroyed or how many people would die?
Yue Shi didn't care.
He would even clap and cheer.
He loathed this world and every living creature in it.
He couldn't stand seeing others happy.
The pain of others was his joy.
It would be best if everyone fell into misfortune and plunged into the abyss...
“Ugh...” A muffled groan temporarily interrupted the poisonous thoughts swirling in Yue Shi's mind.
His gaze slowly shifted toward the source of the sound.
It was the transport vehicle.
Someone inside was emitting a faint blue light; it looked like they were about to wake up.
That wouldn't do.
Yue Shi punched through the window and efficiently finished off all five people inside.
He didn't use his signature supernatural powers. Instead, he used pure physical violence, twisting each of their heads 360 degrees to ensure they were thoroughly dead and wouldn't be pulling any corpse reanimation stunts.
Then, Yue Shi moved to the back of the vehicle, his eyes locking onto the heavy, blast-proof rear doors.
Thud!!
He slammed a fist into it.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
His fists were covered in black demon feathers. Relying on the powerful constitution of a Rank 4 transcendent, he quickly hammered the rear doors until they were deformed.
Finally, Yue Shi delivered a flying kick. The entire door was violently forced open, buckling inward.
The interior of the vehicle was a mess. Yue Shi stepped inside, his sharp pupils scanning the area until they precisely captured the source of the attraction he felt.
It was right there—a special metal box shimmering with a cold, silver-white light!
Yue Shi reached out for it.
Just as his fingertips were about to touch the metal box, something changed!
A piercing red light flashed inside the vehicle, followed by a sharp, rapid buzzing!
Boom!!!
A deafening explosion rang out.
Yue Shi had triggered some kind of self-destruct device. Flames and shockwaves instantly swallowed the entire interior of the vehicle.
The armored transport vehicle shook violently, its body torn apart as fragments flew in every direction.
Fire rolled and thick smoke billowed.
However, Yue Shi, who was at the very center of the explosion, was completely unharmed. Not even a single strand of hair on his forehead had moved.
He merely felt that the light from the explosion was a bit too bright and the sound too piercing.
After the explosion, the entire vehicle was reduced to a heap of charred scrap. The corpses were shredded, and various items were crushed or melted.
But Yue Shi could feel that the intense attraction still existed, not weakened in the slightest.
The sacrifice was still there. And it was perfectly intact.
He flapped the wings on his back, creating a gust of air that blew away the dust and heat. He began rummaging through the burning wreckage and twisted metal fragments.
Soon, he stopped.
Beneath a deformed metal plate, a box lay quietly.
The box was entirely silver-white, with no markings or keyholes on its surface, smooth as a mirror. The previous explosion hadn't left a single mark on it, and its temperature hadn't even noticeably risen.
A good item indeed!
The attraction that made Yue Shi's soul tremble was faintly emanating from this box.
But the box itself was too sturdy; it wouldn't be easy to open.
Yue Shi thought for a moment, then picked up the box and took to the sky.
This time, he wasn't leisurely watching the show from above. He had a clear goal: the Qingshan Sanatorium.
The director was currently tangled up with the Clown, so he probably wouldn't expect someone to raid his base, right?
Yue Shi wasn't there to do anything particularly evil; he was just “dumping evidence.”
He flew over the Qingshan Sanatorium at extreme speed, casting a casual glance down at the sinister-looking building.
Then, his fingers turned into claws, and he lunged at the metal box in his arms!
The material of this metal box was truly extraordinary. Yue Shi's fingers couldn't penetrate it immediately, only leaving a few marks on the surface.
But that was enough.
His decaying curse began to slowly break down the box.
When a hole finally appeared in the metal box, Yue Shi began to tear it apart with brute force.
The corroded fragments and remains of the metal box all fell from the sky into the Qingshan Sanatorium.
The contents of this box were bound to be extremely valuable. If the item went missing during transport and someone came looking for it, he hoped they could track the box's location here so they could have a nice chat with the director.
Think of it as Yue Shi anonymously recruiting some customers for the Qingshan Sanatorium to add a bit of life to the place.
Just another day of doing good deeds and accumulating merit.
