Ruby Blue was extremely picky about its growing environment, requiring dark and dry places with no exposure to light or ventilation.
This place perfectly matched its ideal growing conditions.
Only...
She wanted a continuous, endless supply of Ruby Blue. If she merely harvested them, it would be a waste of their true potential.
“Linglong, is there any way to directly bring them into the space to plant them?”
Jiang Lu asked directly in her mind.
“Master, we can transfer the environment of the entire cave into the space. However, because your current strength is still low, I can only transfer the areas that you touch.”
Linglong's tender voice sounded.
Jiang Lu nodded and looked around. The cave wasn't very large. She reached out her hand and touched the cave wall.
Immediately, the surrounding spiritual plants, along with the stone walls their stems clung to, vanished from in front of her.
After the stone walls and the Ruby Blue were taken into the space, Linglong created a one-to-one replica of the cave based on its original appearance.
As more living things entered the space, it would continue to adapt, eventually becoming suitable for the survival of any spiritual plant.
In the future, there would only be more and more of these Ruby Blues.
Looking at the now empty surroundings, Jiang Lu nodded in satisfaction. Currently, she had almost nothing to her name, so naturally, she had to save whatever she could and take whatever she could get.
Nodding contentedly, she paid no heed to the messy state of her surroundings, which no longer held any of the mystery it had when she first arrived.
She continued deeper into the cave, making several turns.
Then, she heard the howling of wind. Her expression shifted, and she performed several backflips to retreat to the side.
With one hand bracing against the wall and the other palm flat on the ground, she stared ahead with a vigilant gaze.
Following the sound of the wind came a rustling noise, and a spider with alternating black and white patterns slowly emerged.
It had red eyes, two sharp fangs protruding from its mouth, and fine white webbing wrapped around its eight legs.
Blood Demon Spider!
An adult was a Tier Five demon beast. However, due to the high flexibility and strength of its webbing, its actual combat power was doubled.
The one before her was only Tier Two, likely just a cub.
Blood Demon Spiders were solitary demon beasts. The mother spider would leave her eggs in various easily survivable locations, where they would hatch on their own.
Furthermore, to secure their territories, they lived far apart from one another. Thus, there was no need to fear that killing one would immediately draw other demon spiders seeking revenge.
However, if one was ensnared by its webbing, they would slowly suffocate to death.
“Chi Li, Cang Chen, flank it from both sides!”
“Yes, Master!”
Jiang Lu didn't wait for it to approach. She unleashed several blasts of spiritual energy toward it. Fortunately, she was already at the second layer of Qi Condensation. If she had still been at the first layer of Qi Condensation, she would have struggled to detect its movements and might have been ensnared upon their very first encounter.
However, a Tier Two demon beast possessed strength equivalent to the late stage of Qi Condensation or the early stage of Foundation Establishment. She was currently no match for it. Facing it head-on would be suicide; she had to outsmart it.
As Jiang Lu attacked, she scanned her surroundings. The spider only targeted her because she didn't possess anything the Blood Demon Spider feared, unlike Chi Li and Cang Chen.
Chi Li: Is this a joke? What I spit out is divine fire. Even if my strength is currently suppressed, it's not something a mere demon beast can withstand.
Cang Chen: Chi Li's fire is fire, but my water is water too! This is the water of the Milky Way suspended above the Nine Heavens. It's not something just anyone can touch.
Jiang Lu was currently unaware of the little calculations running through the minds of the two spirit beasts; she was entirely focused on fleeing.
Jiang Lu suddenly spotted a stone pillar not far away. She had an idea!
She ran toward the pillar and commanded Chi Li and Cang Chen to use their fire and water to form walls to trap the spider.
The two beasts nodded and waited on either side as Jiang Lu had instructed.
With a sharp screech from its mouth, the Blood Demon Spider swiftly lunged at Jiang Lu.
Jiang Lu climbed and leaped across the stone pillars.
She repeatedly hurled spells from her hands to hinder its progress.
The Blood Demon Spider continuously spat webbing onto the stone pillars, pursuing Jiang Lu from below.
Seeing this, Chi Li and Cang Chen surrounded it with water and fire, gradually closing the elemental walls in on the beast.
It worked!
Smelling the burnt odor filling the air, Jiang Lu looked delighted.
The fire incinerated every bit of the webbing the spider had spat out.
Even though the Blood Demon Spider desperately wanted to wrap itself in its webbing to escape, it couldn't move an inch.
Watching the fire and water before her, a sudden thought flashed through Jiang Lu's mind, but she failed to grasp it. For now, she only felt that these two spirit beasts were incredibly useful.
She had originally thought their fire and water would merely counter the Blood Demon Spider. She hadn't expected them to incinerate its webbing, let alone burn the curled-up beast to death.
After a while, seeing that the Blood Demon Spider had completely curled into a ball, Chi Li's fire swept over it directly. Within moments, its form vanished entirely.
Jiang Lu watched this with an unreadable expression.
She seemed to have contracted two truly extraordinary beings. To reduce something to ashes so completely!
This was the ultimate tool for killing and looting. Although cultivators could use spiritual fire to dispose of bodies, it would always leave a trace of their aura behind.
Yet as she sensed the air now, the aura of the Blood Demon Spider had completely vanished, as if it had never existed in the first place.
If she ever needed to destroy evidence or bodies in the future, with Chi Li around, she would have nothing to fear.
Chi Li: I am a dignified divine beast Phoenix! Isn't using me to destroy evidence and loot bodies a complete waste of my talents?
The surroundings had been utterly ruined by their battle. After checking around and finding no other opportunities, Jiang Lu walked in the direction the Blood Demon Spider had come from.
Cang Chen's eyes widened in excitement.
“Master, it's right ahead!”
If this were the past, it would never have spared a glance for such things.
But now, a dragon fallen to the lower realm was at the mercy of others.
With their personal spaces sealed, and as a member of the dragon race who needed to sleep hugging treasures every day, heaven only knew how much its heart had been itching with desire over the past few days.
And now!
Finally, there was a chance!
Treasures, here it comes!
Before Jiang Lu even drew near, she could already sense the aura radiating from the treasure.
No way!
For real?
As she approached, she saw the ground piled high with glittering, golden spirit stones!
They were mostly Supreme-grade spirit stones and high-grade spirit stones!
And looking at their appearance, they were mostly small fragments, likely gathered from all over by the Blood Demon Spider.
A good number of medium-to-high-grade spirit stones were also scattered nearby. She had Chi Li burn away the webbing with its fire, then swept all the spirit stones into her space.
She had never experienced the feeling of getting rich overnight in her past life, but she was certainly getting a taste of it in this one.
With these spirit stones, she would have the confidence to leave the Medicine King Pavilion in the future and travel to various domains for training.
Under the expectant gazes of Chi Li and Cang Chen, she gave them one stone each.
The two spirit beasts eagerly hugged their stones, curling up tightly with them inside the cloth pouch at her waist.
Seeing that there were no more treasures around, Jiang Lu continued walking further back.
The entrance they had used was so small that larger demon beasts couldn't fit. Since a Blood Demon Spider had appeared here, there had to be another entrance.
