“‘How horrifying the matter of spirit root swapping is. For the sake of peace in the cultivation world and justice for Senior Sister Zhan,’ said an inner disciple of the Star-Moon Sect, ‘we have decided to jointly report Gu Lianxue and request the Enforcement Hall to thoroughly investigate this matter.’
When this happened, Gu Lianxue happened to have returned to the Gu family.
‘Upon receiving the report, we immediately headed to Yanlin Town to apprehend Gu Lianxue.
Although Gu Lianxue looked a bit pale at the time, she didn't seem guilty at all.
The Hall Master used various means to probe Gu Lianxue's dantian and spirit root, but did not detect any abnormalities,’
the Enforcement Hall disciple said. ‘We originally thought it was all a misunderstanding.’
As it turned out, it was no misunderstanding. Just as the Enforcement Hall was preparing to release Gu Lianxue, concerned Xiaoyao cultivators brought forward crucial evidence.
A piece of evidence and a witness.
The evidence was a recording stone, which documented Gu Lianxue and Madam Gu discussing the storybook.
‘Mother, what should I do? Will they come and arrest me?’ Gu Lianxue's voice sounded extremely anxious.
‘Keep the jade pendant on you at all times.’
‘I have it. I even wear it against my chest when I sleep.’
‘Then there is no need to worry. With that jade pendant, absolutely no one will be able to discover your abnormality,’
Madam Gu reassured her. ‘What you need to do now is stay calm and don't let any cracks show in your emotions.’
It turned out that Gu Lianxue's return to the Gu family was no coincidence; it was specifically to discuss countermeasures with Madam Gu.
It just happened to be recorded by a concerned Xiaoyao cultivator passing by.
Based on the dialogue in the recording stone, the Enforcement Hall immediately arranged for a female elder to search Gu Lianxue. Sure enough, they found a jade pendant on her chest.
Gu Lianxue had entered the evil path.
‘The moment the jade pendant was removed, thick grey-black gas erupted from Gu Lianxue's heart and dantian.
The whites of her eyes vanished, and her entire eyeballs turned blood-red.’
The Enforcement Hall disciple said, ‘There are five small grooves at the bottom of her dantian, which are the traces left by her original spirit roots.
She later forcibly swapped them for a high-grade water spirit root. A single spirit root is thicker than five spirit roots combined, so it couldn't fit into the grooves at all.
The spirit root never truly harmonized with her body. This is the real reason why Gu Lianxue was unable to cultivate for so long; it had nothing to do with Senior Sister Zhan.
Between her spirit root and her dantian, there is the aura of a third person.
This was done by digging out another person's water spirit root and dantian to fill the gaps, allowing the water spirit root to barely fit the body. Only then did she successfully manage her later qi induction.’
‘Wherever there are living beings, evil qi will be produced, even within a sect.
It's just that because the concentration is so low, it has no effect on us, so we generally don't notice its existence.
A spirit root is an absolutely pure object. Once removed from the dantian, it is immediately contaminated by evil qi.
From the moment she swapped her spirit root, Gu Lianxue was destined to become an evil cultivator.
It's just that because of her own extreme temperament, it accelerated the transformation of the spirit root into an evil root, which is why she fell into the evil path so quickly.’
The Hall Master of the Enforcement Hall reminded everyone, ‘In truth, there is no such thing as a method to swap spirit roots in this world. All mentioned methods of spirit root swapping are scams.
Everyone, remember to protect yourselves. Do not be deceived and end up harming both others and yourselves.’
The witness was a maid from the Gu family.
The Enforcement Hall disciple said, ‘After hearing the witness's testimony, we realized that the concerned cultivators weren't there by coincidence. They were actually Punishment Peak disciples specifically sent by Xiaoyao to investigate this matter.’
The Xiaoyao progeny disciple, Gu Ningyun, was the original victim of this affair.
Before she was even a year old, she was stolen and raised in the Gu Manor, solely waiting for her to grow up so she could provide a spirit root for Gu Lianxue.
The maid had been assigned by Madam Gu to monitor her.
After Gu Ningyun sensed something was wrong and escaped, the maid knew things would go badly.
While the Gu family was focused on searching for Gu Ningyun, she fled from Nanwangzhou and had been living under an assumed name for years.
It wasn't until Xiaoyao's Punishment Peak took action that she was finally found.
Since it involved the background of a Xiaoyao progeny, Gu Lianxue, Master Gu, and Madam Gu, along with the witness and evidence, were taken away by Xiaoyao on the spot. They are currently being interrogated at Xiaoyao's Punishment Peak.
The Gu family's assets were seized to compensate the living relatives of the victim whose water spirit root was stolen.
Before Gu Lianxue was taken away, her master, True Venerable Qingxu, wanted to stop them.
Fortunately, he was dissuaded by his third disciple, Zhan Fei Bai, which prevented him from making even more mistakes.
The resources originally biased toward Gu Lianxue were reclaimed and given as compensation to the disciples of Taiyi Peak who had been victimized for years.
Having reached this point in the investigation, this Wind-Seeker is very puzzled.
The Gu family is just a small family in Yanlin Town. How could they produce a jade pendant capable of deceiving even a Soul Transformation stage cultivator, and where did they obtain the fraudulent evil recipe for spirit root swapping?
This Wind-Seeker will continue to track and investigate this matter to bring the truth to everyone.
—This report was released by Mr. Fenghua, a Wind-Seeker for the Five Continents Bookhouse."
The comment section below was a chaotic mess, with new posts still refreshing even now.
"A Xiaoyao progeny shouldn't be allowed to use her power to bully others, right? The Gu family raised her for so long, gave her food and clothes, and I heard they even taught her the common script. How is she the victim?"
"You're so grateful? Why don't we give this 'opportunity' to you then?
She could have grown up by her parents' side, but she was stolen as an infant to be used as a tool for a spirit root swap.
She was kept in the dark until she was six. Not only did she have to live under someone else's roof, she was expected to be grateful for their 'upbringing.'
Then, after six, her spirit root would have been dug out, and she would have died miserably.
After suffering all that, she still has to deal with people like you guilt-tripping her. Seeing you really makes me sick to death."
"But isn't she fine now? She even became a Xiaoyao progeny disciple."
"What, by your logic, a victim isn't allowed to run away and protect themselves?
To prove the perpetrator is guilty, the victim has to actually be harmed?
If the victim discovers it early and escapes, the perpetrator becomes innocent?
And the victim is even expected to turn around and be grateful?"
"Don't you see how every word out of his mouth is about her being a Xiaoyao progeny? He's just got a bad case of jealousy. He's just barking over here."
"Please don't insult puppies, thank you. Puppies are very cute."

"How did his name suddenly change?"
"Probably got banned for slandering a Xiaoyao disciple. Latest news: Gu Ningyun is the first disciple of the Spirit-Attuning Peak Master, being raised as the successor. She is currently in seclusion for Foundation Establishment."
"No way, she's not even twelve yet!"
"She has a top-grade wind spirit root, and she's had a Dao Insight!"
"Speaking of the Dao Insight, I'm really grateful to her.
I was stuck at the peak of Foundation Establishment for over three years. Her single Dao Rhyme sent me straight into core formation."
"Me too. If not for her Dao Rhyme, I don't know how much longer I would have been stuck at my bottleneck."
"I hope Xiaoyao clears up Gu Ningyun's background soon. I hope a good child like Gu Ningyun lives a good life from now on, and all the villains get what's coming to them."
"We beings who benefited from her Dao Rhyme will repay her with merit.
With so much merit protecting her, no demon or evil can invade. She will definitely be fine."
"You can't even click into that person's profile anymore. He really got banned."
"LOL."
"LOL, serves him right."
"LOL, Gu Lianxue deserves it too."
"LOL, Gu Lianxue and her parents all deserve it."
