The heavy red sandalwood gate was pulled open just a crack from the inside, revealing the face of a middle-aged man.
It was A Gui, the man responsible for guarding the gate.
When he saw that it was Su Wan and Liu Xin standing outside, A Gui’s face was instantly flooded with a mixture of shock and awkwardness, followed quickly by undisguised impatience.
“Why is it you?” A Gui’s brow furrowed, his tone harsh.
“The old master has given orders—you are not permitted to enter the Liu family gates. You’d better leave quickly!”
Before he could finish speaking, he tried to shove the door shut again.
However, a fair, slender hand pressed against the door panel.
A Gui froze. He instinctively pushed back with all his might, but to his horror, he found that the heavy solid wood door didn't close as he intended. Instead, under the pressure of that slender palm, it was being slowly pushed open!
He strained with every ounce of his strength, his face turning beet-red, yet the door continued to open inch by inch until Su Wan’s figure was clearly visible in the doorway.
“You… you!” A Gui was both startled and enraged, his voice laced with disbelief.
“Miss Su, what do you think you’re doing? I’m only doing what the old master ordered! Leave now, or I’ll lose my job!”
Su Wan remained expressionless, the strength in her hand not relaxing in the slightest. Her voice was ice-cold. “Take us to see the old master.”
“No! Absolutely not!” A Gui hopped about in agitation, but he didn't dare actually lay a hand on Su Wan.
His gaze shifted past Su Wan to the pale-faced Liu Xin standing behind her.
In that moment, all of A Gui’s pent-up frustration seemed to find an outlet. Seeing Liu Xin, he finally had someone he felt he could bully.
He glared viciously at Liu Xin, his voice sharp and biting. “Miss Liu Xin! How do you still have the face to return?! Have you treated the old master’s words like a joke?”
“The Liu family has finally found some peace. Why must you bring this jinx… why must you bring Miss Su back to cause trouble? Are you trying to drag the Liu family down with you?”
“You’re useless yourself, unable to help the Su family, and now you want to come back and implicate your own parents?”
“If you have any sense, take her and leave! Don't make a scene here and make things difficult for us servants!”
His words were merciless, filled with contempt and humiliation for Liu Xin, the “Miss of the Liu family.” It was clear he had never respected her.
Liu Xin trembled under his verbal assault, her arms tightening around Lele. She looked up, her eyes red as she glared at A Gui.
She was about to say something when Su Wan gently took hold of her arm.
The moment Su Wan heard A Gui’s malicious words directed at Liu Xin, her gaze became as sharp as a blade!
Insulting her was one thing, but humiliating her sister-in-law like this was unacceptable!
Fury ignited like gasoline in her chest, surging upward instantly!
She didn't waste another word and delivered a sharp kick directly to the gate!
“Bang!” The gate was kicked wide open. A Gui felt a massive force transfer through the door, sending him stumbling backward from the impact.
Su Wan stepped into the courtyard. In the instant A Gui was frozen in shock and rage, she struck!
Her movement was so fast it left an afterimage in the air!
“Slap!” A crisp, loud slap landed squarely on A Gui’s face, physically knocking the filth he was about to spew back into his throat!
Immediately after, Su Wan’s left hand shot out, grabbing his arm as he tried to swing back in retaliation. With a fluid twist and press, she pinned him!
“Agh—!” A Gui screamed in pain. His arm was wrenched behind his back, and he was forced facedown, his knees slamming hard against the cold stone floor.
Tears and snot flowed from the pain, and he could no longer muster a single tough word.
The commotion at the gate alerted others inside the villa.
Several servants cleaning or walking nearby rushed over. When they saw the scene, they were stunned.
The security captain responsible for the Liu family’s protection also hurried over from the side courtyard. His expression darkened upon seeing the situation, and he immediately pressed the radio at his ear, giving a quick, low-voiced report.
On the second floor of the villa, inside a quiet study.
The Liu family Patriarch, Liu Zonghan, was playing a game of go with his eldest son, Liu Chengye—Liu Xin’s uncle.
The black and white stones clicked sharply against the board.
A soft knock came at the study door, followed by the butler’s respectful voice. “Master, Eldest Young Master, the security captain has something to report. He says… Miss Su Wan and Miss Liu Xin have arrived. There was a conflict at the gate, and A Gui has been beaten.”
Liu Chengye’s hand paused mid-air as he looked across at his father, who seemed to be resting with his eyes closed.
Liu Zonghan kept his eyes half-lidded as if he hadn't heard. His withered fingers gently rubbed a smooth black jade piece for a long moment before he finally placed it slowly onto the board.
Liu Chengye understood immediately.
His father found this a nuisance. He didn't want to see them, and he certainly didn't want to get involved.
Liu Chengye set down his stone and spoke coldly toward the door. “Tell the security captain to take his men and escort them out.”
“Watch your step. Don't make too much of a scene, but there’s no need to be polite. The gates of the Liu family aren't meant for just anyone to barge through.”
“Yes, sir,” the butler replied and withdrew.
Soon, having received clear instructions, the security captain’s gaze turned fierce. He signaled to the men surrounding him and whispered:
“The Master and the Eldest Young Master have given the order. Get them out of here! Move!”
Four or five burly security guards, armed with rubber batons, immediately took on menacing expressions and closed in on Su Wan and Liu Xin!
“How dare you come to the Liu family to act wild!”
Their movements were swift and coordinated, clearly the result of professional training, unlike common street thugs.
Two men blocked Su Wan’s left and right, one tried to circle around to control Liu Xin, and two others swung their batons directly at Su Wan!
“Stop it!” Liu Xin stepped forward, trying to block the guards, instinctively attempting to shield Su Wan behind her.
However, facing the encirclement, Su Wan’s eyes were terrifyingly calm.
Her enhanced senses allowed her to see their movements with perfect clarity. The newly born strength and mental power within her body were mobilized in an instant!
She didn't even retreat.
At the moment the first rubber baton whistled through the air toward her shoulder, Su Wan moved!
A side-step, an advance, and a raised hand!
The movement was minimalist in the extreme, yet as fast as a lightning strike!
“Thump!” Her palm struck the opponent’s wrist with precision. The man felt as if his wrist had been smashed by a sledgehammer. In his agony, the baton slipped from his grip!
Su Wan caught the falling rubber baton in stride and swung it back in a wide arc!
“Crack!” The baton slammed into the ribs of another guard lunging from the side. The man let out a muffled groan and collapsed to the ground, stumbling.
Simultaneously, her left leg whipped out behind her like a lash, precisely kicking the shin of the guard trying to get close to Liu Xin. The man let out a howl and rolled on the ground, clutching his leg.
Seeing this, the remaining two guards were both shocked and enraged. They exchanged a look and charged forward with a roar, swinging their batons high and low to cut off Su Wan’s path of evasion.
A cold light flashed in Su Wan’s eyes. Instead of retreating, she lunged forward!
Ducking under the high swing, the rubber baton in her hand shot out like a striking viper, landing a swift and powerful blow directly on one man’s Qihai point!
“Ugh!” The man felt the breath vanish from his lungs as his vision went dark. He clutched his stomach and sank to his knees.
