“The Panshi Company’s background is very complex,” Cold Wind suddenly spoke up.
“There are some rumors within the City Defense Force that the Panshi Company isn’t just backed by local powers; there might be even greater forces supporting them.”
“But rumors are just rumors. There is no concrete evidence yet.”
Su Wan listened in silence, her mind already making its own judgments.
The strongest publicly known expert in the City Defense Force was Pei Su, at the Level 4 Early Stage.
The Panshi Company had experts above Level 4, but their true strength was unknown.
Currently, she had four Level 3 subordinates, and she herself was at the Level 3 Late Stage.
As long as she killed one more Level 4, she could purchase a Level 4 Potion and advance to Level 4.
Only then would she have the strength to negotiate with the various major factions of Panshi City.
At that point, the existence of the Terminal Station might finally be permitted.
But Su Wan’s goal had never been to be “permitted.”
She wanted to be the one who made the rules.
Su Wan pulled her thoughts back, her gaze falling on Cold Wind and Iron Bone.
“Besides the four of you who are at Level 3, there are six Level 2 Ability Users in the 3rd Mobile Brigade. What are their abilities?”
Iron Bone was the first to speak. “The first is Zhao Long, Level 2 Late Stage. His ability is Strength Enhancement...”
“The second is...”
“The third is Chen Chen, Level 2 Late Stage. His ability is Sand Control. He can manipulate sand and soil into various forms for attack, defense, or entrapment. In a place like the Ruin Zone where sand and dirt are everywhere, his ability has a lot of room to play...”
Su Wan’s attention was immediately piqued. “Sand Control? Tell me more.”
Iron Bone thought for a moment. “Chen Chen isn’t very famous in the City Defense Force because his ability has significant limitations; he must be in a place with sand and soil to use it.”
“But once the environment is right, his ability is very troublesome.”
“He can use sand to condense sand walls. Although their defensive power isn’t as good as my Metalization, they can be replenished at any time. He can also compress sand into sand bullets to throw, which pack quite a punch...”
Iron Bone paused and added, “He can also use sand to create a sandstorm...”
Su Wan’s brows rose slightly. “A sandstorm?”
“Yes.” Iron Bone nodded. “When he goes all out, he can manipulate the sand within a radius of several hundred meters, forming a sandstorm that blots out the sky.”
“The range is about a three-hundred-meter radius, and the duration depends on his mental power. If he goes full power, he can maintain it for about ten minutes.”
“In a sandstorm, an ordinary person’s visibility is almost zero, and even breathing becomes difficult.”
“Even for Ability Users, their vision is severely affected, and the dust interferes with perception, making it very hard to lock onto a target.”
After listening, Su Wan’s eyes lit up slightly.
A sandstorm.
A three-hundred-meter radius, lasting over ten minutes.
In this Ruin Zone filled with debris and flying dust, this ability was truly marvelous.
“What about the others? Any other special ones?” Su Wan asked.
Cold Wind took over. “Lu Ming’s ability is Sound Control. He can create noise to interfere with enemies, condense sound into beams for targeted attacks, and even block sound propagation within a certain range.”
He paused and added, “Lu Ming’s ability isn’t strong in direct combat, but it’s very useful in coordinated operations.”
“For example, he can block all sound in an area so that no one outside can hear what’s happening inside.”
The corners of Su Wan’s mouth curled up slightly.
Sound blocking.
Combined with a sandstorm.
Plus the four Level 3 experts: Zhou Hu, Shadow Blade, Iron Bone, and Cold Wind.
She suddenly had a complete plan.
She was going to make this elite City Defense Force unit meet its disaster halfway to the Terminal Station!
Su Wan’s gaze swept over the four men. “Next, follow my arrangements.”
“Cold Wind, you are responsible for taking me back to the convoy under the guise of being a ‘suspicious person.’”
“Say you found me acting suspiciously in the ruins and suspect I am connected to the ‘Terminal Station,’ needing to be brought back for interrogation.”
Cold Wind nodded slightly. “Understood.”
“Iron Bone, you are responsible for keeping an eye on that Ability User named Chen Chen. Make sure you can control him immediately!”
Iron Bone grinned. “Don’t worry, Master. I know that kid well. Leave him to me.”
“Shadow Blade, you will infiltrate the convoy and destroy all communication and navigation equipment on the communications and command vehicle. Can you do it?”
Shadow Blade’s lips curled into a confident arc. “Rest assured, Master. Leave it to me.”
“Zhou Hu, you are responsible for watching the officer. Once the sandstorm starts, control him immediately so the entire unit loses its command.”
Zhou Hu said deeply, “Understood.”
Su Wan finally looked at Cold Wind. “The four of you must follow my orders. You are only to begin the operation after I give the command.”
“Is that understood?”
“Understood,” the four replied in unison.
Su Wan raised her hands, putting her wrists together as if being bound.
Cold Wind took a pair of alloy handcuffs from his waist and snapped them onto Su Wan’s wrists with a click. He then produced a strip of black cloth and blindfolded her.
“Pardon the offense, Master,” he whispered.
Su Wan nodded slightly. “Let’s go.”
Cold Wind led Su Wan out of the ruins.
Iron Bone followed beside them, his face returning to its usual coarse and honest expression.
The three of them walked toward the convoy.
The 3rd Mobile Brigade of the City Defense Force had stopped its advance and was currently on standby.
When they saw Cold Wind and Iron Bone returning with a blindfolded woman, a slight commotion rippled through the ranks.
The officer came forward, his gaze scanning Su Wan. “Who is this?”
Cold Wind spoke expressionlessly. “Found her in the ruins. She was acting suspiciously, hiding in the shadows and observing our movements. We suspect she is connected to the ‘Terminal Station,’ so we brought her back for interrogation.”
The officer didn’t ask much and waved his hand. “Take her to the command vehicle. Keep her under specialized guard.”
Cold Wind nodded and led Su Wan toward the communications and command vehicle.
The rear hatch of the command vehicle opened, revealing several signalmen sitting inside before rows of instruments with flashing lights.
Cold Wind settled Su Wan in a corner, securing the other end of the handcuffs to the vehicle wall.
“Stay put,” he said coldly before turning to leave the vehicle.
Su Wan’s eyes were covered by the black cloth, seeing nothing, but her mental power had already spread out silently, covering the entire convoy.
The position of every person and the operating status of every piece of equipment were clearly reflected in her perception.
The elites of the City Defense Force, usually so high and mighty, were currently marching with boredom, chatting idly to pass the time.
“Hey, do you think we’ll get a few days off when we get back from this mission?”
“What days off? The Death Tide just passed, and quite a few of those pariahs in the Outer City died. No one’s even collecting the bodies. Won’t we have to go clean them up?”
Another voice chimed in, filled with impatience.
“Clean what? Let those pariahs bury their own people.”
“Where would they get the strength for that? They’re as hungry as ghosts and can barely walk. You think they can dig holes?”
