Su Wan’s expression turned completely cold.
Just as she was about to ask for more details, a dull roar echoed from the direction of the city gate.
It was the sound of heavy vehicles grinding against the road, accompanied by the rhythmic thumping of synchronized footsteps that made the ground tremble slightly.

At the city gate, a contingent of the City Defense Force was marching in formation.
Leading the way were two rows of fully armed infantry, clad in uniform black alloy armor from head to toe, with visors on their helmets concealing their faces.
They carried standard-issue assault rifles with muzzles pointed downward. Their steps were perfectly synchronized, every footfall hitting the same beat like a precision machine.
Their sheer presence alone forced the people near the gate to scramble out of the way.

But these were clearly different from the one Liu Sen had driven before.
These were upgraded models—the hulls were thicker, the armor plates more angular, and twin-linked light artillery pieces were mounted on the roofs, their barrels a size larger than what she had seen previously.
Additional energy shield generators were mounted on the sides of the vehicles, with faint blue light flickering through the gaps in the armor.
Further back were two even larger vehicles.
The first was a communications and command vehicle, its roof bristling with various antennas and radar equipment, with high-power signal jammers added to the chassis.

It was a heavy fire-support vehicle. A six-barreled rotary cannon sat atop its roof, flanked by two missile pods filled with small missiles.
What an overwhelming display of force!
This wasn't just a “cleanup” of a vagrant shelter; this was a full-scale military operation!
Compared to this unit, the team Liu Sen had led out before looked like child’s play.
Su Wan’s mental power spread out quietly, like invisible tentacles probing the convoy.

By now, the leading infantry had reached the gate.
The soldiers guarding the gate had already panicked, frantically trying to clear the path.
A man who looked like a squad leader waved his arms toward Su Wan’s side, shouting at the top of his lungs, “Move! Out of the way! Everyone, move! Don’t block the road!”
Several soldiers nearby rushed over, rudely shoving the people standing by the roadside.
An old woman was shoved so hard she stumbled and nearly fell, her bundles scattering across the ground, but no one dared to pick them up.
A young woman holding a child was pushed against the wall. The child began to wail in terror, and she could only desperately cover the child’s mouth, shivering in the corner.
Su Wan was also roughly shoved aside by a soldier.
The man’s grip was heavy, pushing her shoulder as if he were moving a stone blocking the path.
Su Wan did not resist. She followed the force and stepped to the roadside, watching the murderous convoy drive past her.
The city gate opened, and the convoy headed out.
They were heading toward Area A7.
This unit was coming for Terminal Station!
Su Wan stood by the road, watching the dust kicked up by the convoy slowly settle. Her face was devoid of expression.
But in the depths of her eyes, a coldness had condensed into ice.
She took a deep breath and quickly regained her composure.
