After stopping Allie, Greg quickly wiped the sweat from his brow and turned back to explain to the trio of Victoria, Silvia, and Catherine.
"Of course, please don't misunderstand! This is Allie Hill, my exclusive maid who has looked after me since I was a child! Her words just now might have been a bit... intense, but they definitely don't mean what you think! She's just, she's just too protective of me. She's worried I'll be deceived by some... er, bad women, so she's overreacting! I really didn't mean anything else—"
Before Greg could finish, Allie suddenly interjected with a mournful tone, "When you took that money from me back then, you certainly didn't treat me like a maid, you heartbreaker."
Greg: "!!!"
He whipped his head around and stared at Allie with wide eyes, his expression looking as if he had just swallowed a fly.
No, I finally almost cleared things up! Don't suddenly make everything complicated again, hey!
"I..."
Greg tried to save the situation.
But Allie acted as if she hadn't heard his breakdown. She let out a soft sigh, one that seemed to contain endless helplessness and indulgence. She lifted her eyes, her light blue gaze sweeping over the various expressions of the three girls before her as she spoke.
"Fine. Since you've put it that way, then I will admit it. I am indeed Master Greg's maid—the kind who specifically handles his desires."
Victoria's face twisted in disgust upon hearing this.
Silvia's pupils shook with shock.
Greg felt his vision go dark as his blood pressure spiked. "I'm the one handling your desire to punch people! Stop adding weird backstories!"
A shy smile suddenly appeared on Allie's face, and her voice softened, sounding almost like a playful scolding. "Oh, stop it~ Master Greg, why must you talk about our... little games in public? It's so embarrassing."
Greg: "............"
He opened his mouth, only to find he no longer had the strength to retort.
A deep sense of exhaustion washed over him.
Enough, I've really had enough... Are you bad women, every single one of you, actually devils?
I want to go back to the dungeon... I miss my Hajimi. Even though she's annoying sometimes, at least she doesn't roast me over an open fire...
At that moment, Silvia, who had been trying her best to help Greg maintain the situation, suddenly stood up by bracing herself against the table.
Her long pink hair swayed slightly with her movement. She looked at Allie, and though her voice carried a slight tremor, it rang out with unusual clarity.
"Th-That! Miss Allie! Please... please stop doing this!"
Silvia bit her lower lip, gathering her courage to continue. "Senior Greg... he looks very, very troubled and distressed right now! Please... please at least consider his feelings and stop saying those... strange things!"
Her gaze was earnest, even carrying a hint of pleading, but deep down, there was a persistence that could not be ignored.
The faint smile on Allie's face vanished.
She slowly turned her head to look at Silvia. Her gaze was as calm as still water, yet it made Silvia instinctively shrink back.
Then, Allie's gaze fell back onto Greg. Her eyes curved slightly, narrowing into two crescent moons once more, and the corners of her mouth turned up into what could be called a sweet smile—except that the smile didn't reach her eyes at all.
"Master Greg... as expected, I really should just kill you~"
Her voice was as soft as a lover's whisper.
"But please don't worry. I'll be very fast. I won't let you feel too much pain. And..."
Her gaze swept almost imperceptibly over Victoria and the other two as her sweet smile deepened. "I won't let you go on that journey alone. Once I've settled the situation here, I'll join you very soon to keep you company."
Greg: "............"
He silently raised his hand and covered his face.
Despair. He felt nothing but despair.
The surrounding onlookers were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. The whispering grew louder and louder, and some even sent their attendants to fetch recording crystals.
Greg knew he couldn't let this continue.
As long as these two groups were together, no matter what he said, it would only make things worse.
He had to separate them first. That way, the final right of explanation would be entirely his!
In a flash, he made a decision.
Taking advantage of Allie's attention seemingly being drawn by Silvia, Greg suddenly reached out and grabbed Allie's wrist!
Her skin felt slightly cool but delicate to the touch.
Allie's body stiffened for a nearly imperceptible moment. Then, unexpectedly, the terrifying low pressure and killing intent radiating from her receded as quickly as a ebbing tide.
She simply stood there silently, letting Greg hold her wrist. Her light blue eyes widened slightly as she looked at him, her long eyelashes fluttering. She seemed... surprised.
"I'm going to explain everything to her first! After that, I'll come back and explain to you!"
With that, he didn't wait for a response from Victoria and the others. Pulling the suddenly quiet and obedient Allie along, he turned and strode toward the restaurant's entrance under the dumbfounded gazes of every diner in the room.
Allie didn't struggle at all. She even lowered her head slightly, following closely behind him, allowing him to lead her by the wrist past table after table of gourmet food. Under the baptism of countless complex gazes, they walked out of the Golden Crucible's doors.
With the 'unfaithful man' leaving with his 'official partner,' the spectacle seemed to have come to a temporary halt.
Seeing this, the diners in the restaurant, though still craving more, could only regretfully withdraw their gazes and return their attention to their plates. However, the chatter didn't stop; this was clearly going to be excellent gossip for quite some time.
"Pah! Scumbag!"
Victoria spat angrily in the direction Greg and Allie had left. She flopped back into her chair, her chest still heaving with indignation.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She grabbed the menu off the table, flipped to the most expensive pages, and without even looking, quickly pointed out several high-priced dishes to the somewhat bewildered server nearby.
"This, this, and this! Bring me one of each! The most expensive ones! Someone else is paying anyway!"
Only after ordering did she seem to vent some of her rage, tossing the menu onto the table.
As for Silvia, the moment Greg pulled Allie away, her body swayed almost imperceptibly as she slowly sat back down.
She kept her head lowered, her long pink hair falling to hide most of her face, making it impossible to see her expression.
Catherine took in all of Victoria's resentment and Allie's departing figure. She elegantly raised her water glass and took a sip.
A flash of realization crossed her azure eyes.
It seemed Greg Sass's luck with women was far better than she had anticipated.
"Truly interesting."
Not long after Greg led Allie out of the restaurant, Wendy, who had been trying her best to lower her presence at the next table, quietly moved as well.
She first elegantly wiped the corners of her mouth with a napkin. Then, she leaned in slightly toward the noblewoman across from her—who was still immersed in the regret of not seeing the full drama—and spoke in a voice only the two of them could hear, smiling with a perfect touch of apology.
"Madam, please excuse me for a moment. I thought I saw the figure of an old acquaintance just now and wish to confirm. I shall return shortly."
The noblewoman, still regretting that she hadn't seen a more explosive conclusion, simply waved her hand absentmindedly. "Go on, go on."
Wendy nodded slightly again, stood up with graceful movements, and straightened her impeccable skirt before quietly following them out.
