“And unlike a familiar, these guardian summons don't require any deep heart-to-heart bond. You just need to give them orders, which makes things much more convenient.”
Lan Qingyou explained what she saw to clear up their confusion.
The so-called summoning contract was essentially the unintelligible incantation Aina had just recited.
Lan Qingyou suspected it was likely hell language.
After all, it made sense that only hell language could get a response from a hell creature.
“So that's how it is. Should I give it a try?”
With Lan Qingyou's explanation, Aina understood the abilities of her Verdant Orb Insect. However, understanding was one thing; mastery was another.
“Go ahead. Let's see how powerful it is. Unlike monsters, these hell creatures don't have levels.”
With Lan Qingyou's approval, Aina followed the instructions and issued mental commands to the Verdant Orb Insect to attack.
Through repeated testing, they determined that the maximum range of the Verdant Orb Insect's poison spray was approximately ten meters.
Its bite was also incredibly formidable.
It could snap the neck of a golem in a single bite.
It was important to note that the golems Lan Qingyou currently possessed were reinforced with Thorium.
Even though it was only a 0.5% concentration, they weren't something that could be easily bitten through by just anyone.
Yet, the creature seemed to do it with ease.
This alone proved the high strength of the Verdant Orb Insect.
Lan Qingyou wondered what tier the Verdant Orb Insect belonged to in hell. If it was mid-to-high tier, that was fine, but if it was considered low-tier, things would get interesting.
This was the first time Lan Qingyou had even encountered the word 'hell.' If such a place truly existed, she felt it must be a top-tier dungeon that required a large team to conquer.
After Aina finished, it was Ailuel's turn.
Compared to Aina's flashy demonstration, Ailuel's was much simpler.
Create ammo, chamber it, fire, and observe the results.
It was decent—just decent.
The power was roughly equivalent to a C-grade spell. However, if she could increase the rate of fire and stack the damage, it wasn't impossible for her to punch two grades above her weight and reach A-grade power.
Ailuel was naturally unsatisfied with this result.
As an attacker, she didn't want her output to be too low.
So, she tried stacking elemental attributes, combining wind and fire. The result was an immediate shot that blew the golem's arm clean off.
“I have a general understanding of the characteristics of these two potions now,” Lan Qingyou said, looking at the two on stage after distributing the potions to the hundred people waiting nearby.
“The one Aina used is confirmed to be the summoning type. The fifty people in this group are in a similar situation. The one Ailuel used is confirmed to be the physical type.”
“This means our Witch race has finally rounded out the traditional RPG trinity of warrior, mage, and healer.”
Lan Qingyou chuckled at her own joke, then clapped her hands to dismiss everyone to their tasks.
Once most of the people had left, Shang Chuan walked up.
“Tower, why do I feel like these summoning and physical type Magic Eyes are a bit of a misnomer?”
“You noticed too?”
“I did. Or rather, no matter how you look at it, they're fundamentally different from the previous witches' Magic Eyes. Instead of Magic Eyes, they feel more like skills wearing a Magic Eye's skin.”
Shang Chuan nodded as they chatted.
“While your point seems valid, as the Origin Witch, I have to say that whether it's the summoning type or the physical type, a Magic Eye is a Magic Eye and nothing else.”
Hearing Lan Qingyou's words, Ailuel and Aina, who were about to leave, stopped in their tracks.
“The summoning-type Magic Eye, if I'm not mistaken, acts as a sort of coordinate or anchor. That's why your summoned beast can appear by your side every time you call it.”
“As for the physical-type Magic Eye, it serves as an auxiliary. However, this support is more about enhancing one's own innate talents. If you don't believe me, you can ask Ailuel. Ask her if she can see further now.”
“...”
Ailuel's heart skipped a beat.
See further?
Does that mean her Eagle Eye talent, which granted night vision, had been seen through?
But she had heard from Shang Chuan that this witch—
“I can indeed see further, and the clarity has significantly improved,” Ailuel admitted with a nod.
“So, rather than saying a physical-type Magic Eye adds a new skill, I think it's more of an enhancement to one's talent or physical body.”
“That's a possibility. I'll have those hundred people submit daily reports later for analysis.”
Diana strongly agreed with Lan Qingyou's assessment.
Like Lan Qingyou, she was a very 'traditional' magic-type witch, so she also hoped to thoroughly research the other two systems.
After all, her research focus was on convenient scrolls. Perhaps in the future, she could use these scrolls to create a support setup that allowed 'one person to become an army.'
“Ailuel!”
As things were wrapping up, Lan Qingyou immediately turned her gaze toward Ailuel and Aina.
“Yes, Clan Leader?”
Because she had become a witch, Ailuel had started calling Lan Qingyou by that title, just like the others.
It was a remarkably quick shift in allegiance.
“Nothing, I just thought your current weapons might not be a great fit for your Magic Eye. I happen to have two pistol-type magic tools here that you might be able to use.”
With that, Lan Qingyou produced two small revolvers, one black and one white, that looked like short daggers.
Indeed, they were gun-blades—part gun, part dagger.
“Wait! Tower, you don't mean...”
Shang Chuan was shocked when he saw Lan Qingyou pull out those two guns.
Others might not know their origin, but almost everyone in the Tarot Villa did.
These two guns were custom-ordered by Lan Qingyou from Olf, the Chariot, shortly after their first dungeon run.
The reason Shang Chuan was so shocked was that the materials used for these guns were five magic daggers melted down by the Chariot, combined with minerals, gems, and materials provided by Lan Qingyou.
After the frame was finished, Alisa, the Star, enchanted them. Then, Ingrid, the Sun, engraved them with Runes. They were then passed through the hands of Vivian, the High Priestess, and David, the Magician, for further work.
Finally, they were returned to the Chariot for final assembly.
But that wasn't all.
After assembly and testing, Lan Qingyou had even drawn two small magic circles on the front and back of the cylinders.
One was for mana conversion, making it easier to deal with enemies of various elemental attributes.
The other was for mana resource recycling, which stored mana to make the next attack stronger than the last, essentially functioning like a minor critical hit.
