Chapter 224 · Volume 1

There’s a Seal on the Door, and It’s Strong

“Dragonbone Greatsword, A-grade, Strength +88, high-level enchantment...”
“I want this one.”
“Strange Fire Robe, B-grade, 50% fire resistance, Agility +53, high-level enchantment...”
“I'll take this; I'll need the fire resistance for my future plans.”
“Windwalker Belt, A-grade, 80% wind element resistance, Agility +76, high-level enchantment...”
“I'll take this one; my Agility is low, so I need to shore up my weakness.”
“Ebony Boning Knife, B-grade, Strength +68, high-level enchantment...”
……
At this moment, a unique loot distribution meeting was taking place inside the cabin.
Lan Qingyou picked up the pieces of equipment selected from the pile of gold one by one, announcing their attributes, while the others raised their hands.
It looked less like a loot distribution meeting and, in terms of atmosphere, more like an auction.
Except no one had to place bids.
Whoever took a liking to a piece of equipment simply raised their hand to claim it. If several people wanted the same item, they would discuss it among themselves.
Of course, once someone raised their hand, the others were generally not tactless enough to contest it.
There were nearly three hundred pieces of magic equipment on the scene, and with seven of them to split it, each person could get at least forty or fifty items.
So, after the loot distribution meeting, everyone had collectively upgraded their gear.
Lan Qingyou now had an Agility-boosting belt, a Constitution-boosting necklace, and a Spirit-boosting earring.
The extras were wrapped up individually using cloth found nearby.
As for the gold coins, gold artifacts, and gemstones, they were useless to the others anyway, so the plan was to give them all to Lan Qingyou, the alchemist.
After all, for the others, these things would at most be used as materials to upgrade their shelters.
Lan Qingyou firmly disagreed with this.
Because it wasn't an equivalent exchange at all.
So, in the end, these items were also divided into seven portions.
“I’m so jealous. You actually have a spatial item.”
“Yeah, how are we supposed to carry all this back?”
Seeing Lan Qingyou pack her share into her herb bag, the High Priestess, the Sun, and Gu Xiaobei were all filled with envy.
“This spatial bag isn't that big; it only has a little over five cubic meters of space right now. If you have no place to put your things, you can just use your cards to contact Justice and have him store them for you. It's not like he'd embezzle them.”
Lan Qingyou smiled. The others thought it was a good idea and took out their cards to find someone.
As for who exactly they were contacting, it wasn't clear.
To be honest, five cubic meters sounded like a lot, but it wasn't the limit of the herb bag.
Although it and the moonstone had already consumed a significant amount of Lan Qingyou’s mana potions, having one was indeed very convenient.
After all, the cards only had ten slots, and the amount of items they could store was extremely limited.
“Wait, the cards aren't working!”
Just as Lan Qingyou finished packing her share, the High Priestess looked at everyone in a daze, holding her card.
“Huh? What’s going on?”
Lan Qingyou looked at the High Priestess.
“They really aren't working.”
“Mine too. I can't contact anyone.”
The same thing happened to everyone. At this, Lan Qingyou turned to look at the Magician.
After all, the cards had been developed by him, the High Priestess, and the Wheel of Fortune together.
“Magician, what’s the situation?”
“I don’t know. This is the first time I’ve encountered this. Wheel of Fortune, what about you?”
The Magician was also bewildered.
Logically, this shouldn't be happening. After all, the cards they made didn't rely on signals to communicate; there was no such thing as a 'server.'
He turned his gaze toward the Wheel of Fortune.
However, the Wheel of Fortune didn't seem to have any clues either, and the group fell into silence.
“Forget it, forget it. Tower, you take it all. We can't carry it away anyway.”
The High Priestess waved her hand, signaling Lan Qingyou to take the rest.
But Lan Qingyou just helplessly raised her hands and shrugged.
“My herb bag can’t hold this much either.”
“Just take as much as you can. It’s better than leaving it here to go to waste.”
“True. We've already gained dozens of magic items; it’s not a pity if we can't take the rest.”
Although they couldn't take everything, no one felt any regret.
They had already obtained so many good things.
Everyone had even swapped into a new set of equipment, gaining attribute bonuses ranging from dozens to hundreds of points. One could say this trip had already been incredibly profitable.
“Alright then.”
Under everyone’s persuasion, Lan Qingyou packed her herb bag to the brim.
“Let’s head back now, then.”
Since they couldn't carry any more, the group had no reason to linger. They all picked up their large and small bundles, preparing to leave.
However, at that moment, Spoon suddenly jumped out.
“Squeak! Squeak!”
“Hmm?”
“What’s wrong?”
Everyone turned around.
“Spoon says it sensed something inside the gold pile just now.”
“Ho ho! It looks like there are still good things we haven't found.”
Hearing that Spoon was active again, everyone’s interest was piqued.
Judging by the magic items from before, Spoon wouldn't act unless it was something good.
Or rather, those pipsqueaks weren't even worth Spoon's attention.
“What is it? Where?”
The High Priestess asked excitedly.
“Right under here.”
Lan Qingyou pointed to a pile of gold coins not far away. Without a word, Li Huai stepped forward and waved his hand, and a powerful wind blew the gold coins away.
What appeared before everyone was a door flush against one side of the cabin.
It was a double door about four meters high and two meters wide, cast from brass. There was no sign of oxidation on its surface; it looked practically brand new.
The door was cold and hard as a mirror, engraved with complex magic patterns, as if it had been preserved by some secret method for a thousand years.
As Gu Xiaobei approached with her torch, the flames licked the copper surface, and those patterns seemed to come to life, turning from dark gold to an eerie blue.
Even more terrifying was the wisps of cold air beginning to seep from the door's seam, entangling with the heat from the torch and condensing into white mist in the air.
Seeing this, the ever-curious Gu Xiaobei reached out, ready to touch it.
“Wait! Don't move!”
Just as Gu Xiaobei’s fingertips were about to touch the door, Lan Qingyou’s expression changed, and she shouted.
The sudden shout startled Gu Xiaobei.
She froze on the spot and turned her head to look at Lan Qingyou with a smile that looked worse than crying.
“Boss Lan, you were a bit scary just now...”
“Scary is better than dead.”
Lan Qingyou flew over, grabbed Gu Xiaobei, and pulled her back, where she was caught by Li Huai.
“What exactly is the situation?”
Realizing that things might be serious, the Magician stepped forward and asked Lan Qingyou with a grave expression.
“There’s a seal on the door, and if I’m not mistaken, it should be a very strong one.”
Lan Qingyou looked at the bone-chilling cold air seeping from the door's seam, her expression very solemn.
