Chapter 245 · Volume 1

Storming the Lyu Estate

“On high alert!”
The two guards were fully focused and immediately spotted the red light.
As one shouted, a phantom holding a blade appeared behind him and slashed at the red light!
In Great Wei, the most numerous transcendents were those of the Executioner rank!
The other guard reacted as well, letting out a roar as a similar phantom appeared behind him.
Their spirituality erupted, causing the air in front of them to distort.
Buzz! An anti-aircraft alarm blared. The lights around the manor grew brighter, and several red spotlights tracked the red light to guide the other guards.
The red light was intercepted by the two phantoms, and a figure emerged.
Someone in the darkness gasped.
“It really is that masked man!”
The intruder wore a Nuo opera mask and a sacrificial robe. He stood about two meters tall, shrouded in a baleful aura so thick it had nearly materialized.
Facing the weapons of the phantoms, a cold flash erupted from the masked man's hand. A streak of blade light swept through, forcing the phantoms back.
“Who goes there?!”
The Sequence 6 guard shouted, though he secretly felt a sense of relief.
Regardless of anything else, he had successfully blocked the first strike.
As long as they held out, the consecrated experts within the manor would arrive.
Once that happened, whether the intruder was a Sequence 5 or not would no longer be their problem.
“What's going on? The masked man is at the Lyu estate not because he's one of them, but because he's breaking in?”
“Doesn't that mean we don't have to clash with the Lyu family? We might even be able to cooperate!”
The observers hidden nearby were dazed, realizing things were different from what they had imagined.
But their attention was quickly drawn back to the scene—the masked man's body began to swell!
Like a balloon being inflated, he grew to over three meters tall in the blink of an eye!
With a flick of his right hand, he gripped a zhanmadao.
Hum!
A cold light flashed, and the phantoms in front of him were sliced apart!
The guard's face turned deathly pale. Before he could summon his phantom again, his vision blurred, and his head went flying.
The last thing he saw was the giant masked man cleaving through the Lyu family's gate and flying inside!
“He's in! The masked man has a grudge against the Lyu family!”
“Report this immediately!”
As they spoke, two figures flew toward the Lyu estate's entrance.
The remaining Sequence 6 guard tried to stop them but felt a sharp pain in his neck. Looking down, he saw a thin, bald man biting into his throat, guzzling his blood.
“You...”
He managed only a single word before dizziness overwhelmed him, and he blacked out completely.
“Hahaha! Don't be afraid, Lyu family! I, the Ghoul, am here to help you!”
The thin, bald man wiped his mouth, his figure blurring as he charged inside.
Another dark shadow giggled.
“That's right, that's right! Don't be afraid, we're here to help!”
Upon hearing the bald man identify himself, the expressions of those watching from the sidelines changed instantly.
“Bald, thin... the Ghoul.”
“Those lunatics from the Idealist Society are here too.”
“Damn it, if they've shown up, the Security Bureau will be here any second. Maybe even a Baleful Star. Should we leave?”
“Leave? Muddy waters make for the best fishing. This is our chance. Otherwise, would we ever get a shot at the masked man?”
“Exactly. When the snipe and the clam fight, the fisherman wins. We'll just sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight.”
Just as they said this, two powerful beams of light lit up within the Lyu estate.
The thin, bald man was sent flying back out, vomiting mouthfuls of blood mid-air—it was unclear if it was his own or the guard's he had just drained.
Boom!
An overwhelmingly dominant divinity surged outward from the courtyard.
The transcendents who felt it began to tremble, as if they had encountered their natural predator.
One person with better eyesight gaped, stuttering.
“An... an Overlord!”
Everyone followed his gaze and saw a man floating in mid-air. He looked nearly three meters tall, his veins bulging like a rhinoceros standing on its hind legs!
His black hair fluttered in the wind, and he wore a gold mask that revealed only a pair of eyes like a lion's.
“Tee-hee!”
“Big brother... your pectorals are so firm.”
A fair, slender finger tapped the gold-masked man's chest, and he recoiled instantly!
He hadn't even noticed when she had approached; she had no presence at all!
“Big brother, why are you hiding? Why so cold?”
The gold-masked man's consciousness wavered, but he snapped out of it immediately. Red light erupted from his body—his blood was seething like a furnace!
“Giggle... so strong.”
The voluptuous woman approached again, reaching out to remove his mask.
This seemed to hit a sore spot. The gold-masked man's eyes turned blood-red, and he delivered a powerful kick toward her head.
The kick was so forceful it produced a sonic boom!
Pop!
The woman's figure vanished like a bubble, only for two of her to appear nearby.
“Big brother, you're so cruel.”
“Exactly. Why waste all that strength when it could be used for something else?”
The gold-masked man frowned. He knew he had fallen into an illusion.
...
Having just closed his stall, Yin Yang was riding his electric scooter back home.
“Meow.”
Canned Food jumped out from nowhere and meowed at him.
“The oil painting in the second-floor parlor can turn into a door? Where did you hear that?”
“Meow.”
“A cat from the Lyu family told you?”
“Meow.”
“Then how do you know? Can you even get into the Lyu estate?”
“Meow.”
“It was a cat that used to live there? It got sick and didn't recover, so they were going to euthanize it, but you found it first?”
“Meow.”
“Impressive!”
Yin Yang gave Canned Food a thumbs-up. He had to admit, the Meow-Meow Intelligence Network was quite useful at times.
As he rode, Yin Yang shared the vision of the blade-wielding ghost.
After entering the Lyu estate, the ghost began to suppress its aura.
Otherwise, the gold-masked man would have attacked the ghost instead of the bald man.
With the intel from Canned Food, the blade-wielding ghost flew toward the second floor.
But just as it was about to enter the villa, a phantom hand reached out to grab it!
The hand was suffused with divinity—it was another Demigod.
The blade-wielding ghost instantly shrank, using the change in size to dodge the strike before drawing its blade to counterattack.
Forget a Demigod—even in front of a True God, the blade-wielding ghost would dare to swing its blade!
“You Lyu family people are so shameless! I came to help, and you actually hit me!”
“I don't care. For that one hit, I'm not leaving without three pairs of young boys and girls!”
The bald Ghoul ran back in, looking at the gold-masked man as if he were a rare delicacy, drooling with greed.
“Ghoul, this one is mine! Don't you dare touch him!”
The voluptuous woman glared at the bald man. She was about to say more when she felt the divinity behind her grow even more violent. A voice boiling with killing intent rang out.
“Die!”
