Chapter 233 · Volume 1

Human, Spirit, God

The next day, as soon as Yin Yang arrived at the school gate, he found several of the regular vendors looking indignant.
“What’s wrong, everyone?”
“Little Nie, you’re just in time! These people are absolutely shameless!”
“We’ve been setting up stalls here for years and no one ever bothered us. Now, suddenly, people are coming in to snatch our spots.”
The speaker was Old Liu, his neck flushing red with anger.
The spot where he usually set up his stall had been taken over by someone else, and that person was also selling grilled sausages.
Seeing Yin Yang looking over, the man glared at him.
“What are you looking at, you piece of crap?!”
“Right, right. I am looking at a piece of crap,” Yin Yang replied with a smile.
The other vendors, who were still fuming, couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Old Liu laughed the loudest of all.
The man who had snatched the spot was livid. He stood up and started walking toward Yin Yang. Seeing this, Old Liu threw down his spatula and intercepted him, lifting a spare gas tank with one hand.
Seeing this display of strength, the man smoothly turned around and walked back, muttering under his breath.
“I won’t lower myself to your level.”
Old Liu felt as if his punch had landed on a bale of cotton.
Yin Yang smiled and comforted him. “It’s fine. If he wants to come, let him. The more stalls there are, the more variety there is, and the more choices customers have. That will attract even more people.”
But Old Liu remained indignant. “Then why did he have to sell sausages? Of all things!”
“It’s alright, it’s alright. I’m not worried about losing business.”
Yin Yang truly didn't care, as such things were unavoidable.
Besides, if the man was selling the same thing as Yin Yang, he was the one who should be worried.
After the veterans finished setting up, several more new stalls arrived one after another.
The difference between the veterans and the newcomers was immediately apparent. The new vendors crowded as close to the school gate as possible!
This was basic street-vending experience—they wanted the students to smell their food and see their signs the moment they stepped out.
Meanwhile, the vendors who had worked alongside Yin Yang before silently surrounded him, leaving the prime spot for him while they acted as the supporting roles.
The new vendors were initially dismissive, but once school let out, they finally understood why the veterans had chosen that formation.
“Boss Nie, I’ve missed you... and your sausages so much!”
“Brothers! I’ll pay extra! If anyone is willing to resell their sausages, I’ll pay eight yuan each!”
“Eight yuan? I can sell them for ten once I get back to the dorm! You black-hearted middleman!”
“Classmates, I’ll also pay eight yuan! I’m not reselling; I’m just purely craving them. I want to eat a couple more. If you’re worried, you can watch me eat them right here.”
“Get out of here! Eating them right in front of us—who are you trying to torture?”
The students didn't even glance at the new stalls. They expertly moved to Yin Yang’s stall and began to form a line.
Those further back in the queue greeted the neighboring vendors.
“Uncle Liu, two wraps. No sausage, but extra green onions and cilantro. I’ll wrap one of Boss Nie’s sausages in it later.”
“Coming right up!”
“Uncle Liu, two for me as well. No sausage.”
“It’ll be ready in a jiffy.”
Old Liu was no longer angry. His movements were incredibly brisk.
“Sister Zhang, one order of fried rice, extra egg.”
“Sure thing. Since you’re a regular, I’ll throw in a carton drink for free.”
“Thanks, Sister Zhang.”
“Brother Wang, I want...”
Seeing the bustling activity around Yin Yang while their own stalls remained deserted, the newcomers were stunned.
They had heard yesterday that business at the North Gate of Huang City University was booming with high foot traffic, so they had arrived early.
But looking at it now, it wasn't that business at the North Gate was good—it was specifically that the sausage vendor’s business was good!
“Pure meat grilled sausages! Three yuan a stick! Three yuan a stick!”
“Liangpi! Buy a liangpi and get a free drink!”
The new vendors started calling out to the crowd, but at first, no one paid them any mind.
It was only as the line at Yin Yang’s stall grew longer and those at the back realized they might not get any that some finally drifted over to the other stalls.
“Boss, two sausages.”
“You got it~”
The vendor smiled happily and even wiped his hands on his apron before skewering two sausages and handing them to the student.
The student took a bite and frowned slightly, then carried the sausages back to rejoin the queue at Yin Yang’s stall.
Sometimes, no comment is the harshest review of all.
The surrounding students sighed. As they expected, there was simply no substitute for Boss Nie’s sausages.
Yin Yang worked nimbly, grilling, collecting money, seasoning, and packing.
The power of ‘humanity’ was also growing bit by bit, making Yin Yang increasingly expectant.
Before long, Yin Yang’s sausages were all sold out.
He used to sell them during both lunch and dinner, but since he became famous, he only came in the evenings.
He wasn't like the other vendors who had to move to different locations morning, noon, and night to make ends meet and support their families.
“Alright, everyone. Today’s sausages are sold out. See you tomorrow.”
“Nooo~”
“Buying Boss Nie’s sausages at a high price!”
“I’ll pay fifteen!!!”
Upon hearing that the sausages were gone, a chorus of laments instantly rose from the crowd.
The surrounding veteran vendors were grinning so wide they could barely see.
Thanks to Yin Yang, they had also sold quite a lot.
Old Liu glanced provocatively at the new stalls across the way and called out loudly.
“Classmates! Boss Nie’s limit on purchases is out of necessity. He uses all-natural ingredients, so the production is low!”
“To maintain the flavor and quality, he has to do everything himself. He can only make so many a day.”
“He only limits the amount so that more students can enjoy this delicacy!”
“It’s not like those people who buy wholesale at seventy-five cents, grill them, and dare to sell them for three yuan while claiming they’re pure meat!”
“Nie Yang’s are all-natural and handmade.”
“Those over there are just pure science and chemical tricks!”
Old Liu was practically pointing at their noses and cursing them, but the man across the way, having seen him lift a gas tank with one hand, chose to keep his mouth shut and swallow his anger.
The other veteran vendors chimed in with their agreement and laughed.
“Alright, classmates, let Boss Nie go home and rest early. We’ll take care of your hunger!”
While they were talking, Yin Yang had already packed up his stall. He bid farewell to the vendors and students, then rode his electric scooter into the night.
‘The power of humanity grew very quickly today. Did I do anything different from usual?’
‘Was it because of the bickering?’
As Yin Yang pondered, his body suddenly shivered.
He could ‘perceive’ that once the power of humanity reached a certain level, it began to intertwine with the power of spirituality.
‘Hmm?’
He didn't understand how the intertwined spirituality would differ, but he couldn't test it out in the middle of the street, so he silently twisted the throttle to the maximum.
...
Central City.
There was a knock on the study door.
“Enter.”
Wan Tianqing’s voice was somewhat raspy. A moment later, the door was pushed open, and the Butler entered with a respectful attitude.
“Sir, the Earth Dragon Jar has been delivered to Wannian Platform.”
“I see.”
“A letter from Mr. Su arrived with it.”
“Bring it here.”
“Yes, sir.”
