Chapter 134 · Volume 1

High Priest!

Originally, Yin Yang had planned to leave and search for his lung after promoting to Sequence 7.
However, after learning about the Shadow Lotus Church's plan, he was no longer in a hurry.
Crisis often meant opportunity.
Furthermore, the Shadow Lotus Church was simply too interesting. Without them, Yin Yang wouldn't have been able to obtain divinity while still at Sequence 8.
In that regard, they were practically his benefactors.
So, Yin Yang decided that after promoting to Sequence 7, he would add a little fuel to their fire!
Additionally, he couldn't just stand by and watch his classmates and underlings walk to their deaths.
He planned to orchestrate a few 'accidents' on that day to ensure they couldn't make it to the school.
As for the rest, he would leave it to fate.
“Alright, teacher. What do I need to prepare?”
“Just get yourself a decent set of clothes. I'll take care of the rest!”
Wang Qiqu patted Yin Yang on the shoulder, his expression serious.
“Many important figures will be attending the school anniversary. This is a great opportunity for you. Cherish it!”
“Understood, teacher.”
Yin Yang nodded and turned to look out the window.
He had been in Wang City for half a month now. Tonight was the night he would promote to Sequence 7.
...
As evening began, Yin Yang noticed several 'sacrifices' converging on the area, appearing near his flat.
This was where the Accident Pen truly shined—it could make ordinary sacrifices engage in 'door-to-door delivery.'
Yin Yang bought an ice cream and sighed with emotion as he ate.
“Wang City really is full of talent. I can find so many sacrifices so easily. I thought Wangduan City was chaotic enough, but it turns out there are even greater masters here.”
The blade-wielding ghost stood behind Yin Yang, forcing a smile and nodding.
Its daily schedule was packed. Besides hacking people apart for Yin Yang, it also served as a meal companion, a conversation partner, and a secret confidant for him to vent to.
After finishing his ice cream, Yin Yang washed his hands and took a bottle of potion from the refrigerator.
This was the promotion potion for Sequence 7. As long as his spirituality was sufficient, drinking this potion within the ritual would allow Yin Yang to break through to Sequence 7!
He sat cross-legged in the center of the living room, surrounded by ninety-nine burning candles.
The blade-wielding ghost, the lantern-carrying ghost, and the Red-Haired Ghost stood around him, watching him silently.
Yin Yang waited until the bright moon rose high into the sky before opening his eyes. He stood up, bit his finger, and painted a Nuo opera mask onto his face.
Thump, thump.
He began to dance.
As his limbs moved, strands of reddish-black thread wove together over his body, forming a sacrificial robe.
The Red-Haired Ghost shifted its position outside the flat, hovering in mid-air as it slowly drew its flaming greatbow.
Whoosh!
Boom!
A sacrifice was instantly blown apart by the arrow, exploding into a mist of blood.
The people nearby froze for a moment before screaming and fleeing in a frenzy.
The scattered blood mist drifted through the air, merging into the flat.
Boom!
The flame of a candle in front of Yin Yang rapidly turned red. Under its glow, the color of the promotion potion in Yin Yang's hand began to shift toward crimson, bit by bit.
Boom, boom, boom!
Three more candles turned red. Soon, more and more candles followed suit as the blade-wielding ghost and the lantern-carrying ghost joined the slaughter.
At this moment, the area below the Mansion No. 1 flat had turned into a living hell.
Shattered flesh and severed limbs were everywhere. Many faint-hearted people were terrified into unconsciousness, while even more were caught in a panicked stampede.
A few brave individuals attempted to evacuate the crowd while reporting the incident to the Security Bureau.
Yin Yang remained indifferent, only commanding the three ghosts to pick up the pace!
In less than a minute, half of the ninety-nine candles around Yin Yang had turned red.
The promotion potion in his hand was now as red as fresh blood, possessing a viscous consistency when shaken.
...
At the Security Bureau.
“Captain! A mass murder is occurring near Mansion No. 1. Transcendent power is suspected. Patrolling security officers in the vicinity are heading there now, but they urgently need backup!”
Hearing this, the man on the sofa who had been covering his face with a newspaper sprang to his feet.
“Transcendent power? What's the approximate strength? Which pathway?”
“We don't know!”
The man looked rather unkempt. His hair was so oily it could have been used for stir-frying, and his beard looked like it hadn't been trimmed in ages.
“Dammit, you don't know anything?”
“Captain, the situation is urgent. I'll go report to the Bureau Chief. You take the brothers and go check it out first.”
“Fine!”
The man opened the window and jumped straight out.
Thud!
After a heavy landing, a car started up and sped out of the Security Bureau.
The man opened his radio while driving.
“Situation at Mansion No. 1. Old Wang, Old Li, I'm heading there first to assess. You guys move to the perimeter to support me!”
As soon as he finished speaking, another voice crackled over the radio.
“Captain, I'm already near Mansion No. 1. There are three monsters massacring civilians—one with a blade, one with a bow, and a giant one using its hands.”
“What's their approximate strength?”
“They should be around Sequence 7.”
Hearing this, the man breathed a small sigh of relief.
Dealing with three Sequence 7s wouldn't be an issue for them.
“Captain, there seems to be a pattern to their killing. Some people are right next to them, but they don't even touch them.”
“Dammit, how many have they killed?”
“Sixty or seventy!”
“Then why haven't you made a move? Are you waiting for the New Year?”
...
At Mansion No. 1.
The ninety-nine candles around Yin Yang had all turned completely red. The potion in his hand had nearly become a solid.
Yin Yang removed his mask and swallowed the potion in one gulp.
The potion melted the moment it entered his mouth. Streaks of red light surged through his body, illuminating his internal organs and meridians.
Surges of energy began to restructure his physical form.
In that moment, Yin Yang felt as if everything around him had come to life.
The candles, the walls, the carpet, the decorations.
It was as if they were all communicating with him, telling him how different this world truly was.
In a trance, he felt as if he truly saw a god.
The god's appearance shifted constantly, eventually slowly morphing into his own likeness.
“Better to rely on oneself than to beg the gods. Only I can truly empathize with everything I have experienced.”
Yin Yang's consciousness seemed to enter a miraculous kingdom.
The people here were multicolored and had strange physiques, appearing like shadows cast by sunlight from different times.
Some had massive bodies, while others were as round as beads.
Waves of emotion flowed from them back to Yin Yang.
These 'people' seemed to be trying hard to communicate with Yin Yang, but they couldn't quite find the right way.
“What is it you want to say?”
Yin Yang asked aloud, and their voices became even more clamorous.
However, through Perception and Communion, Yin Yang managed to roughly guess what they were saying.
They were saying:
【Lord of Rebirth and Communion!】
‘Are these... my believers?’
In the real world, Yin Yang suddenly snapped awake. A spiritual pressure unique to Sequence 7 radiated outward in all directions.
At this moment, Yin Yang had completed his promotion.
He was now a Sequence 7 of the Sacrifice pathway.
A High Priest!
