Over the next few days, Yin Yang quickly made a name for himself within his class.
Even students from other classes heard that a handsome guy had joined the Department of Performing Arts.
From that day on, he would always run into students in the hallways hoping for a chance encounter. After school, the crowds gathered to watch him were even larger, as if Yin Yang were some kind of rare animal.
In reality, Yin Yang's current appearance was around a ninety out of a hundred.
However, the word-of-mouth among the students gave him a halo of sorts, artificially pushing his appeal to a hundred and twenty.
Yin Yang, however, acted as if he noticed nothing. He maintained a gentle demeanor toward everyone and even took the initiative to help his classmates.
So, in less than a week, Yin Yang had established quite a reputation for himself at Wang City University.
Of course, he hadn't been idle during this time.
The blade-wielding ghost and the others hadn't been idle either.
Just as Yin Yang had thought, once the area was large enough, finding sacrifices became very easy.
In just five days, Yin Yang had gathered ninety-nine sacrifices.
After marking them, Yin Yang had the blade-wielding ghost collect some of their hair. Then, he used the Accident Pen to create an 'accident' that would cause them all to gather near his flat in eight days.
Although the Accident Pen didn't have much spirituality left and couldn't be used many more times, that limitation mainly applied when the targets were transcendents.
If the targets were just ordinary people, it could be used many more times.
“Student Lu Yang, are you really not considering this commercial?”
“The client said that as long as you agree to perform, the endorsement fee can go up to five hundred thousand!”
Hearing that number, the surrounding followers gasped in shock.
Yin Yang, however, shook his head.
“I appreciate Director Chen's kindness, but I really have no plans to film commercials for the time being. Why don't you take a look at my brothers here instead, Director Chen?”
Upon hearing this, the few followers behind Yin Yang puffed out their chests, hoping to be noticed, but Director Chen shook his head decisively.
“That won't do. The client's producer specifically asked for you. If you don't go, no one else has a chance.”
Yin Yang smiled apologetically.
“I'm truly sorry, Director Chen.”
Director Chen sighed and left reluctantly.
Once he was gone, one of the followers said urgently, “Brother Yang, five hundred thousand! You're turning down five hundred thousand?”
“Did you guys not see that producer?”
“The producer? We didn't see her. Is there a problem?”
Yin Yang said with a look of lingering fear, “A huge problem! She wanted to use the casting couch on me!”
“Huh? For the sake of art, a little sacrifice isn't exactly unacceptable, is it?”
“She looks exactly like a Komodo dragon!”
“Then forget it!”
The follower's face changed instantly as he decisively retracted his statement.
Yin Yang pointed at Director Chen's retreating back. “I have Director Chen's contact info. It's five hundred thousand. Why don't you sacrifice yourself for art?”
The follower looked conflicted for a moment before gritting his teeth. “Five hundred thousand! I'll do it!”
Another follower laughed loudly. “'I'll do it,' he says. Didn't Director Chen just say that no one but Brother Yang will do? You're just moving yourself to tears for nothing.”
At those words, the group burst into laughter, Yin Yang included.
Spending the whole day chatting with these students made Yin Yang feel like his own mindset had become much brighter.
It was at that moment that he suddenly saw an 'old friend' who shouldn't have been there!
Under the sunlight, a girl with a fine figure sat by the fountain reading a book, looking like a picture of peace and quiet.
Yin Yang had to suppress the corners of his mouth to keep from laughing out loud.
Little White Rabbit, Zhou Kexin!
The woman who had once wanted to 'eat' him, only to be controlled by him instead.
He had kept his word and let her go back then, but he never expected that in this vast world, the two of them would meet again.
Fate truly was a mysterious thing.
He just wondered if she still had a way to trade her life for another's this time.
Noticing Yin Yang's gaze, a junior behind him whispered, “She's a sophomore, also a transfer student. She arrived a few months before you, Brother Yang.”
“A lot of guys in school are chasing her. If you want to go for it, Brother Yang, you'd better be prepared to be besieged by every guy here.”
One of the followers spoke up unhappily. “What are you saying? If our Brother Yang chases her, it's a blessing she's accumulated over several lifetimes!”
Yin Yang smiled. As if sensing his gaze, Zhou Kexin by the fountain looked in their direction.
When she saw Yin Yang and the others, she frowned deeply, as if being stared at by them was an insult. She turned and walked away.
Seeing this, the follower said, “See that, Brother Yang? She's tough. She hasn't even been here a week and she's already being called the Ice Witch.”
Yin Yang laughed even more happily upon hearing that.
‘Ice Witch? Changed your style this time? Interesting.’
Yin Yang watched her retreating figure, planning to give her a surprise later. He was very much looking forward to seeing what kind of expression she would make when she saw a familiar face.
Meanwhile, the departing Zhou Kexin also curled her lips into a smirk, feeling like she had hooked a few more fish.
Her spirituality had grown quite a bit lately; she had even vaguely touched the threshold of Sequence 7.
She only needed to hunt a few more desirable prey to promote!
...
Night fell.
Pleasure Bar.
“Brother Yang, Brother Yang! Over here!”
A student waved repeatedly at Yin Yang.
Yin Yang walked over with a smile and punched the guy's shoulder. “You're doing well, kid. You're usually so quiet, I didn't expect you to find a part-time job here.”
The student scratched his head with a shy smile. “A friend introduced me.”
There were two reasons Yin Yang said that. The first was that the wages at Pleasure Bar were very high!
Far higher than other bars, and the commission on drinks was also very high!
The second reason was that singers and directors often frequented this place. It was said the bar owner was a big shot in the industry.
As long as one performed well here, there was a chance of being spotted by a big shot and skyrocketing to fame.
In the history of Pleasure Bar, such occurrences were not uncommon.
“Alright, go on then. I'll order some drinks to support you when you're on stage.”
The student shook his head quickly. “No need, Brother. Just have a good time today. The bill is on me.”
“Hahaha, alright!”
Yin Yang laughed and agreed. Only then did the junior smile. After chatting for a few more moments, he went backstage to prepare.
Yin Yang found a corner and sat down. All sorts of intense emotions began to batter his mind.
This was a side effect of Perception. Sometimes, even when he didn't want to perceive anything, he would passively pick up the surrounding emotions.
This was why Yin Yang had specifically looked for quiet 'part-time jobs' before.
Jobs like a Coroner, a bookstore clerk, or a flower shop owner.
In a place like this, Perception would constantly affect him, as if countless people were screaming in his head.
Yin Yang closed his eyes for a moment and adjusted his breathing.
‘Desire.’
‘The most primal desire!’
