Chapter 64 · Volume 1

Fury

Xia De swung a punch. It was completely ordinary, without any special effects.
Yet, it was as if the world had been put on pause.
Every living creature present froze, a deep terror gripping their hearts!
Especially Reid!
To him, this ordinary punch looked like a monstrous beast far more terrifying than the magical beasts chasing them from behind!
Reid's pupils shrank to tiny pinpricks. His mind went entirely blank as he froze in place, his heart skipping a beat.
He felt it.
An invisible gust of wind from the punch grazed his face.
In the next second, with a sharp rip, the sound of tearing fabric rang out.
A thin, long line of blood appeared on Reid's handsome cheek, beads of hot blood welling up from it.
Behind him, the wind roared like a wild beast—the mere force of the punch had whipped up a violent tempest!
The ground shattered, and trees flew through the air as if a typhoon were sweeping through. Countless magical beasts unfortunate enough to stand in the path of Xia De's punch were torn apart by the tempest, disintegrating into a bloody mist.
It left a scar on the ground dozens of meters wide and countless li long.
Everywhere it passed was reduced to ruins!
Behind Reid, the group of magical beasts Xia De had given special attention to ground to a halt, standing blankly in place.
Their bodies were completely intact, but their eyes were vacant.
Then, with a sharp crack, starting with the two crack-rock bears at the very front, the bodies of the magical beasts began to crumble inch by inch.
Their flesh and bones disintegrated into powder, mixing together like wet cement, blending into a single mass where nothing could be distinguished.
“My 'wind magic' is actually pretty strong.
What do you think? The results of my attack aren't bad, right?”
Looking at the destruction caused by the wind of his punch, Xia De casually shook his wrist, then asked with a smile dancing in his eyes.
His words snapped Reid's trio out of their daze.
A metallic clang echoed as armor hit the ground.
Looking at the gentle smile on Xia De's handsome face, Reid felt as if he were staring at the Grim Reaper itself. He collapsed onto his butt.
He watched Xia De walk toward him with a smile. He opened his mouth to scream, but terror choked his voice, leaving him only able to make dry, infant-like “ah, ah” sounds.
He wanted to run, but his legs had lost all feeling. His face twisted in terror, and he could only drag himself backward using his trembling arms.
His body shook violently from fear, and a dark stain spread between his legs, dragging a wet trail along the ground.
Shanna and Kathleen also watched Xia De walk toward them with horror. Though they did not lose control of themselves as pathetically as Reid did,
looking at Xia De's smile made them break into a cold sweat, feeling as if they had been plunged into an abyss of ice.
Especially Shanna. Recalling how she had just worked with Reid to lure the magical beasts toward the handsome youth before them, using him as a shield, she suddenly felt the giant hand of death gripping her heart.
Xia De ignored the two women and strolled casually over to Reid, but he caught the pungent smell of urine coming from the ground.
Pinching his nose and frowning, he walked around to Reid's back.
Then, he stomped his foot onto Reid's twisted face, grinding it into the dirt.
“I told you before, if I ever saw you again, I would gouge out your eyes and stuff them down your throat.
Besides, you were trying to lure the magical beasts to me just now, weren't you?
Did you want me to cover your retreat and buy you time?”
Xia De lifted his foot slightly. Just as Reid was about to speak, Xia De violently stomped him back down.
His entire head was embedded in the earth.
“You could have died quickly and painlessly, but why did you have to provoke me when I'm in a bad mood?”
Leaving Reid's head stomped into the dirt, Xia De turned his gaze to Shanna, who had chimed in with Reid earlier.
With just a single glance, Shanna felt as if she had fallen into an abyss of death, her body trembling uncontrollably.
Xia De was expressionless as he said coldly, “You too, prepare for a painful death!”
“No, no, please...”
Shanna was on the verge of a breakdown, muttering in a dazed, frantic whisper.
“Hey! What is wrong with you?! In a situation like this, shouldn't we be helping each other and getting along peacefully?!”
Just as Shanna's mind was about to snap, a clear, loud female voice rang out beside her, filled with hot-headed anger.
It was Kathleen!
Xia De calmly shifted his gaze to the furious Kathleen.
Just being stared at by Xia De for a split second made Kathleen feel a chill run through her entire body, her legs trembling uncontrollably.
Yet, she forced down her fear and yelled at Xia De with a face full of indignation:
“What? Am I wrong?
Right now, magical beasts are invading Toka City! As humans, we should be helping each other, not slaughtering each other over some petty personal grudge! Why can't you just be more generous?”
This girl is an idiot.
Xia De labeled her in his mind as he watched her ramble on.
Xia De actually agreed with her words to some extent—one could indeed set aside personal grudges when facing a common enemy.
But her self-righteous attitude was completely wrong. Not to mention, his actions just now had essentially saved her life, yet she showed no gratitude whatsoever and instead turned around to blame him.
And as if Kathleen felt she was growing more in the right the more she spoke, her fear gradually dissipated, and her voice grew louder.
“And to think I actually thought you were a good person just because you're handsome!
Didn't your parents ever teach you to be a bigger person? But then again, for someone as selfish as you, your parents probably weren't any good—”
Before she could finish her sentence, her voice cut off abruptly!
Xia De had already slammed her head into the ground.
His face was as cold as ten-thousand-year-old ice. Grabbing the back of her head, Xia De repeatedly smashed her face into the ground, his grip tightening and force increasing with every strike.
“I do not allow anyone to insult my parents!”
Xia De said coldly, his eyes burning with an endless fury. The way he looked at Kathleen was like looking at a corpse.
At this moment, Kathleen had jumped to the absolute top of his kill list!
Kathleen tried to struggle, but it was futile. Xia De had already severed her limbs with wind blades at some point, rendering her completely helpless.
In the end, Kathleen's facial features were completely unrecognizable, reduced to a mangled mess of flesh and blood embedded with shards of shattered teeth.
It was a sickening and terrifying sight!
“No, no, please, no!”
Watching this horrific scene, Shanna's mind finally shattered. Screaming, she tried to flee.
However, the very instant she tried to run, an unimaginably terrifying pressure descended upon her, pinning her to the ground, unable to move.
Her two large, heavy assets were squished out of shape against the ground.
Xia De said coldly, “Today, all of you will die!”
Just then, a deep, thunderous voice filled with rage boomed from above everyone's heads.
“Human! Where are my children?!”
