Chapter 61 · Volume 1

Xia De's Great Adventure in the Underground Fantasy World

The Crack-Rock Bear King exuded the aura of Tier Eight. His majestic momentum weighed down like a massive mountain on the heart of every magical beast, making their limbs tremble uncontrollably.
Only a person dressed in black standing beside him remained unaffected, speaking in a sharp, thin voice:
“How is the power of the Demonic Seed?”
The Crack-Rock Bear King grinned savagely. “I feel great!”
Hearing this, the man from the Demon God Cult let out a sinister, maniacal laugh, filled with wanton madness.
Then, with boundless fanatical emotion, he said to the Crack-Rock Bear King, “Go! Unleash the monster tide, settle your grudges, and let this city ring the welcoming bell for the Lord Demon King's return with its death!”
“Everything is for the Lord Demon King!!!”
A trace of struggle flashed through the Crack-Rock Bear King's crimson eyes upon hearing his words, but it was immediately suppressed by a thread of ominous black. He roared in a fanatical tone,
“Everything for the Lord Demon King!!!”
Meanwhile, Xia De had just finished his meal and walked out of the restaurant with a complex expression.
“Sigh, it wasn't good. Not good at all. It can't compare to Mom's cooking, and it can't even compare to Hilia's,” he sighed and said helplessly.
Although he could truly taste the chef's passion and dedication to his dreams in the restaurant's dishes,
as someone who came from a super-foodie nation in his past life, he really couldn't bring himself to praise the flavor of these dishes!
He looked back at the restaurant's name.
“Dream Restaurant.”
A gentle smile unconsciously played on the corner of Xia De's mouth, and he silently encouraged, “Keep it up, Boss.”
Next, he began to sense the mark he had left on Shanna, wanting to see if she had met up with that blond scumbag, Reid.
“She actually hasn't met up with him? What is she wandering around for, looking for a new lover?”
“Whatever, since they haven't met up yet, I'll put it aside for now! After all, I'm not some homicidal maniac. There's no need to be so impatient.”
Xia De casually swung his arms, stretching his muscles and bones, which popped like cracking beans.
“Now that I'm full, time for some post-meal digestion. Let's go kill some magical beasts in the dungeon!”
He walked into an empty alley. A faint light flashed in his pupils, and a light blue magic circle appeared beneath his feet.
With a flash of blue light, he arrived at the entrance of the dungeon.
Xia De muttered to himself with some pride, “These past days haven't been in vain. My use of teleportation magic is getting more and more proficient, and the distance I can teleport is getting further and further.”
Looking at the entrance of the dungeon, he dazed out for a moment, thought briefly, and said:
“This time, I'll stroll through the dungeon slowly. Before, I was either speedrunning or slaughtering, so I never really got to enjoy this place. Hilia did say that some of the scenery in the dungeon is actually very beautiful!”
Stepping into the dungeon, Xia De's body melted into the shadows, and he arrived at the twenty-eighth floor. From this floor onward, the magical beasts possessed Tier Four cultivation, barely qualifying to become his food.
Xia De glanced around and discovered a bunch of sights he had only ever seen in games and anime in his past life.
As mentioned before, the scenery on each floor of the dungeon was different. Every nine floors—which marked a major phase—the theme would change.
The theme of Tier Four was the wood element, so the environment from the twenty-eighth to the thirty-sixth floor was just like the forests outside, yet it looked much more beautiful than those monotonous trees.
Everywhere Xia De walked, his eyes met massive trees whose leaves emitted a faint fluorescence. The trees did not grow too densely, allowing glimpses of the dungeon's stone walls.
However, the glow from the trees draped the environment in a soft coat. Specks of light blue fluorescence drifted through the air, gathering in some places to form a long river, resembling a brilliant galaxy.
The other vegetation along the way, aside from the trees, was also incredibly varied: pitcher plants taller than humans, bananas as large as people, and all sorts of other bizarre things.
Xia De even saw one-meter-tall mushrooms with hands and feet, holding hands and dancing together.
Xia De chuckled and commented, “It really has that isekai vibe.”
Then he saw the group of little mushrooms look over at him in unison, their eyes—like two little yellow dots—blinking a few times.
They then trotted over to him on their short legs, making rubbery squeaking sounds, and formed a circle around him.
Their bodies bounced up and down, making Xia De chuckle softly. He asked, “Are you inviting me to join you?”
“Mo-mo!”
All the mushrooms held hands and bounced up and down, emitting high-pitched squeaks, seemingly telling Xia De, “Dance together!”
Xia De stored Starfall into his storage space, then looked at the group of cute little creatures surrounding him. A pleasant smile appeared on his handsome face as he said,
“I don't know how to dance, so as compensation, I'll accompany you with some music!”
“Mo-mo!”
All the mushrooms held hands, their short legs bouncing up and down excitedly in place.
With a clap, Xia De clapped his hands, drawing the mushrooms' attention to him, and smiled.
“Three, two, one, let's begin!”
And so, from a third-person perspective, this scene unfolded.
A group of mushrooms with short legs and short arms held hands in a circle, surrounding a handsome youth dressed in black.
The youth had a smile on his face, his eyes curved like crescent moons. He gently clapped his hands to the beat, humming various light and melodious tunes.
Following the tune, the mushrooms moved their short legs and danced rhythmically, making rubbery squeaking sounds and emitting cute “Mo-mo!” noises.
Singing and dancing like this, they traversed the forest, stepped through flower patches, and crossed shallow puddles.
More and more bizarre creatures were drawn to them: pure white rabbits with sharp horns on their heads, foxes with wings on their backs, and bipedal lizards walking upright with bones in their mouths.
There were also all kinds of other strange creatures. Following the melodious tunes and cheerful dance steps, they finally arrived beneath a towering tree emitting a blue glow.
Every creature, including Xia De, had a face brimming with joy.
“Dum-dum-dum-dum, dum-dum-dum-dum, dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum...”
Xia De hummed various melodious and cheerful BGM tracks from games in his past life. Seeing more and more creatures gather around, the smile on his face grew brighter and brighter.
“Black Prison.”
“Black flames.”
In just an instant, a vast expanse of deathly darkness spread out with Xia De as the center, shrouding the ground beneath the feet of all the magical beasts.
Countless tentacles, some thin and some thick, emerged and dragged them into the shadows, leaving behind not even a single scream.
The canopy of the towering, blue-glowing tree behind him was now burning with black flames, crackling loudly.
With the smile still on his face, Xia De squinted his eyes and chuckled, “It was quite a fun experience. If only your malice had been a little smaller.”
Behind him, the massive tree burned to ashes and scattered across the entire dungeon floor, revealing countless ghastly white human bones beneath its roots.
“Dwarf mushrooms. Weak individually, they live in groups. They like to pretend to be harmless to deceive their prey, surrounding them and dancing around them. What looks like a dance is actually their unique hunting method. They emit mental attacks to make their prey relax and let their guard down, and once the prey completely abandons all thoughts of resistance, they swarm and devour them.”
“Horned rabbits. Small, agile, and cute-looking. They taste pretty good.”
“Winged foxes. Cruel and mischievous by nature. They like to use their flight capabilities to torment their prey by rubbing their eyes or scratching their faces, killing them only after their minds have completely broken.”
“Bone-storing lizards. They like to eat their prey and then keep their bones as a collection, carrying them in their mouths.”
“...”
With a smile on his face, Xia De continuously listed the hunting habits and life characteristics of the magical beasts from just now.
With every sentence he spoke, the temperature of the dungeon dropped by a fraction. His icy words echoed in the space, adding a chilling coldness to the air.
Finally, Xia De looked at the towering tree that had just been glowing with blue light, gazing at the ghastly white human bones exposed beneath its roots.
The temperature in the dungeon had plummeted to the absolute limit, as if they were in a world of ice and snow.
“And lastly, the planet tree. It often coexists with dwarf mushrooms. Incapable of movement on its own, it can bewitch and control various magical beasts, forcing them to hunt to feed it. It cannot absorb any substances other than flesh and blood.”
At this point, Xia De thought for a moment and spoke again, “Well, it's far worse than me. After all, I can absorb everything!”
Having said that, Xia De's expression returned to calm, the smile vanishing from his face.
He no longer squinted his eyes. His dark pupils were filled with a bone-chilling coldness. Recalling the scene of the dwarf mushrooms dancing around him just now, he said coldly,
“Quite interesting little things. I wanted to keep a few as pets, too. But unfortunately, it seems there is no possibility of peaceful coexistence with the magical beasts of this world!”
