Qingxi Kingdom, the Prince's bedchamber.
Shortly after Faust fell asleep and entered the dream world constructed by Yusewood, Selena and Irithea returned to the palace.
The capital of Qingxi was not large, and one could understand its layout just by wandering around. Yet, even in this short time, the capital, which Faust had planned and built with such painstaking effort, left a deep impression on the two young women.
Selena could not help but marvel on the way back to the palace:
"I had assumed this obscure little place called Qingxi Kingdom would be a backwater, but upon actual inspection, it is not bad at all."
"I think Faust has done a great job. The urban planning is orderly, the commerce is basically established, and the natural scenery is well-preserved. If the city area were expanded tenfold, it would be the location of my ideal palace."
"Though, for now... it is small and cute."
Irithea could not help but agree, a smile playing on her lips:
"I just took a light jog around the capital. The layout of this city is excellent. Even for a small nation, its spirit is remarkable—facing the stars, facing the new sun, so high-spirited and upward-looking."
When they returned to the Prince's bedchamber, they saw the young knight sitting quietly in the courtyard.
Bathed in the afternoon sun, Viviana closed her eyes, her delicate face in meditation like a beautiful, soul-cleansing painting. It was enough to make any observer hold their breath, instinctively unwilling to break the tranquility.
Seeing this, Selena gave an unexpected "Oh" and said:
"I thought Viviana would surely try to sneak a taste; I did not expect her to be so well-behaved."
The wolf-girl also nodded based on her own personal observations:
"Faust is the most lecherous man I have ever heard of, but Viviana is the most lecherous woman I have ever seen."
How proper the pale-gold haired girl was in her daily life was matched only by how repressed she was once she let go; in any case, it was a real eye-opener for Irithea.
"So, where is Faust?"
"Does that even need asking? He must have dragged a maid off to some corner, perhaps in the garden or by the bath. That is how he did things back at the Midwinter Kingdom castle."
The Midwinter Princess sneered with her arms crossed as she entered the courtyard.
Viviana opened her eyes at the perfect moment. Having heard the two women's conversation, as a loyal supporter of the Prince, she immediately and righteously corrected them:
"That is not the case. His Highness is currently resting."
"Resting? At this time of day? What exactly could have exhausted him so much?"
They were all insiders; Faust's physical stamina was something everyone had witnessed. Pure strength, pure masculinity—the Prince's energy seemed endless, as if he never knew fatigue.
What law of conservation of mass? Nonsense. Just let me kneel! Let us see how your Brother Faust's fountain flows.
Viviana: "After returning from Princess Yusewood, His Highness lay down to rest."
Irithea widened her lake-blue eyes: "And which master is this now?"
To be able to make this beast Faust suffer a setback—this was no ordinary energy-drainer!
"It is not a master; Yusewood is the Princess of Qingxi Kingdom."
Selena knew a bit more about Faust's interpersonal relationships than Irithea, so she crossed her arms and said:
"Besides, I have heard Faust mention that this sister of his is very cold and strict. Could it be that our Prince has been slighted?"
Viviana furrowed her elegant brows: "His Highness does not have such a petty disposition."
In reality, he did, but the filter of their childhood friendship was simply too thick.
"Whatever the case, I will know once I go and see for myself."
The Midwinter Princess shook her head and pushed the door open, seeing Faust in a deep slumber.
"He really is asleep."
Selena walked to the bedside, only to see the red-brown eyes of the Qingxi Prince, which were usually filled with an aggressive glint, now tightly shut, having shed the sharpness he possessed while awake.
His overly handsome face appeared much softer, even revealing a rare, quiet tranquility. His breathing was even and long, his chest rising and falling rhythmically.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk... He is actually quite cute when he is asleep."
Selena looked him over with great interest, her fingertips moving uncontrollably to gently brush aside the stray hair scattered on his forehead:
"It is truly rare to see this sleeping face. I have found a treasure."
Irithea leaned in close, praising him as if reciting poetry:
"I knew this long ago. Faust's appearance is like the bright sun, and also like the new moon; like now, there is even a sense of attachment like a young beast."
How to put it? Faust was always confident and composed; the man radiated extreme masculine charm and heroism throughout his entire being.
But only when dormant did Faust lack even a fraction of vigilance, existing in his most natural state.
Just looking at this face was enough to evoke an instinctive maternal affection.
Viviana also knelt on the bed, and the three witches surrounded the man.
Selena exchanged a look with the young knight, and they tacitly remained silent.
Except for Irithea, who was still playing her game of edging, the black-haired princess and the pale-gold haired girl were both repressed carnivores.
Without a doubt, they wanted to indulge in Faust on this large bed, but neither was willing to be the first to speak.
It was a stalemate.
In the end, Selena, who had been staring at the Prince's sleeping face for a long time, gave up on the idea of a great battle. She stretched and said:
"Is this bed really that comfortable? Looking at him makes me sleepy, too."
"In that case... I will take a short nap as well."
She then lay down first on Faust's left, directly facing the man's face.
The long-haired girl deliberately left a little distance, and a faint, sweet fragrance gradually permeated the air, mixing with the man's rich, heady hormonal scent.
"Princess of Midwinter, you really have acted first to gain the advantage, claiming a good spot."
Seeing this, Irithea's lips curled upward, and she occupied the space to Faust's right.
She did not pretend to be reserved like Selena; she directly wrapped her arms around the man's waist, resting her cheek against his broad back.
Finally, only Viviana remained. The young knight tilted her head in distress as she saw the two of them occupying the left and right sides of Faust.
But that did not stump her. The pale-gold haired girl rested her head on Faust's thigh and lay down elegantly on her side.
The relationships between the witches had now become quite subtle.
On one hand, they did indeed feel a sense of repulsion toward one another and were unlikely to become intimate, inseparable best friends.
On the other hand, every witch, regardless of personality, was quite proud at her core. They had very few friends they could truly acknowledge, and these exceptional women, all possessing supreme fate-stars, happened to resonate with one another on a certain level.
Moreover, because of Faust, they were destined to fight side by side.
Of all the heroines in the world, only the few of us are qualified to be Faust's partners. All other females are mere small fry!
They were both rivals and comrades-in-arms who would entrust their lives to each other. At the very least, they could coexist harmoniously when the issue of Faust's possession was not involved.
Even sleeping together on the same large bed was tolerable, as long as no intimate contact occurred between them.
Again, the {witch} is never "ugly." Not only is their appearance beautiful, but their inner selves are as well; the emotion of "jealousy" is foreign to these girls.
Sunlight filtered through the window curtains, casting a soft glow over the bed, enveloping the four of them in a warm halo.
The air was filled with a complex and subtle scent, a mixture of the man's essence and three different feminine fragrances.
Like a citrus cocktail, it passed a sense of drowsiness between the sheets.
