The sky cleared after the rain.
All the trouble seemed to have passed. At the very least, the many clergy members on Huys Street relaxed and began to wait.
They didn't have to wait long before reinforcements from the church arrived.
"Hmm? What happened here?"
The leading official, a stern-looking nun, immediately called over the clergy on the scene to ask about the situation.
The clergy members were no strangers to this nun. Her name was Tilda Sterling, a chanting nun who held considerable prestige within the Daylight Cathedral.
Seeing her arrival, the clergy members breathed sighs of relief and quickly told Tilda everything they knew.
Tilda’s expression was normal at first, but as she listened, her face inevitably changed until her gaze became incredibly strange.
"Who is Olivia?"
"I am."
Olivia stepped forward.
Tilda sized up the drenched blonde nun before her. Sensing the aura of intense battle and slaughter clinging to her, she began to believe the words of the other clergy members.
Even so, she couldn't help but ask, "The enemy you faced here... there should have been a Transcender among them, right? You defeated them?"
Before Olivia could speak, the others around them were stunned.
No one had witnessed the actual battle. The other clergy members didn't know exactly what Olivia had faced; they only knew there must have been a Sensate present.
As for a Transcender? They hadn't even dared to imagine it.
After all, Olivia was clearly a transcendent who had only recently advanced to the rank of Sensate. There was no way she should have been able to defeat a Transcender.
But hearing Tilda say it now, everyone's gaze shifted once more.
Olivia replied with a calm expression, "I was lucky. That Transcender followed the path of a Necromancer, so he was physically fragile."
Tilda's eyes were filled with complex emotions as she said, "Regardless of how you achieved victory, it is enough to be astonishing... Well, I'm just getting a general idea. We'll discuss the specific details back at the cathedral. Let's go. You've all been through combat; go back and rest. Leave the rest to the others."
The incident caused by the Twilight Council this time was truly too massive. It had plunged the entire South District into chaos, involving countless civilians.
Such matters required the church to step in and manage the fallout, but that was not something for Olivia and the others to handle.
Olivia and the various clergy members immediately boarded carriages and began the journey back to the Daylight Cathedral.
'I originally wanted to find Rose first, but it seems it won't be easy to slip away right now... I'll have to wait a bit longer,' Olivia thought to herself.
...
Upon returning to the cathedral, Olivia first went to see this week's administrative head, Melanie, to report what had happened.
Naturally, she didn't mention the magic mirror. She attributed everything to her abilities as an Ascetic and a fair amount of luck.
Of course, she also mentioned that the opponent had only just become a Transcender and wasn't as strong as a normal one.
After understanding the situation, Melanie’s expression became extremely strange for a moment.
"I really never expected this, Olivia. To think you reached this level. This attack by the Twilight Council was completely unforeseen; the church almost failed to respond in time, and we were on the verge of an irreversible, terrifying outcome. Yet, all of these crises were dismantled by you. You..."
Melanie didn't know what to say for a moment.
Because this time, the merit Olivia had earned was truly, truly, truly too great!
This was stopping the descent of an evil god's will!
Even a mere wisp of an evil god's will was enough to cause devastating damage and lead to countless deaths.
Yet, such a thing had been resolved by a nun who had only just become a Sensate.
Even if Melanie was the one who had guided Olivia onto the path of an Ascetic, and even if she had watched Olivia grow, still... this left Melanie somewhat dazed.
"I believe that with the merit you've earned this time, you can already apply for the materials needed for your next advancement. In fact, more than just that—you could have much more."
Melanie’s expression grew even stranger as she spoke.
The merit of stopping an evil god's will was simply too vast. It was so great that she couldn't even calculate it on the spot; she would have to wait for the church's internal assessment to determine exactly how significant it was.
Melanie was filled with sighs of admiration. She wanted to say more, but seeing Olivia’s slightly weary face and her drenched state, she ultimately held back.
She patted Olivia on the shoulder and said, "Go and get some good rest first. You've already done enough. Leave the rest to the others."
"I understand," Olivia nodded.
She left the Administrative Office and returned to her quarters in the Daylight Cathedral. She changed out of her nun's habit and quickly cleaned herself up.
Then, she put on a spare habit and walked back out.
People were coming and going in the cathedral, everyone extremely busy; no one paid her much attention.
She walked out of the Daylight Cathedral once more.
She planned to head over to Rose's side to check on the situation. According to the route provided by the magic mirror, if she didn't make contact soon, Rose would move out of the magic mirror's range of control.
'But honestly, I'm a bit tired. The Refresher Talisman only works on the mental level, not the physical one...' Olivia muttered to herself.
Back on Huys Street, she hadn't felt too tired, perhaps because her body had been constantly tense.
Now that the battle was over and the church had regained control, she could finally relax, and only then did she notice the physical exhaustion.
However, things weren't over yet.
She had to find Rose, mainly because that fellow Annie Spoorberg was also there.
That was a high-level class rank transcendent.
If it weren't for the fact that Annie was already controlled by Rose, she wouldn't have dared to appear before him.
Because of the chaos brought by the Twilight Council, there were no public carriages on the road. Olivia could only rely on her own legs to run, aided by a Lightness Talisman.
Gradually, she arrived at Annus Street.
The streets after the rain were muddy, and the freshness of the greenery mingled with the lingering mist.
The rescued civilians were scattering, heading back to their respective homes, making the street quite lively.
Many people wore expressions of relief, as if they had just survived a disaster.
'Strictly speaking, I saved all of them.'
Olivia’s gaze swept over the people, and the expression on her face became somewhat subtle.
