Who?
Rose?
Olivia almost thought she had misheard, and a look of utter bewilderment crossed her face.
Rose had actually appeared at a time like this? And she had somehow managed to restrain a powerhouse from the Twilight Council?
'Magic mirror, magic mirror, where are Rose and Annie now?'
【In the main hall of the house at 75 Annus Street.】
Olivia recalled the area in her mind.
Previously, she had centered the magic mirror's range on Huys Street, and the area it radiated outward covered a large territory, encompassing numerous streets.
Annus Street was naturally within this range. Everything that happened there could not escape the magic mirror's knowledge.
'How did Rose manage to control Annie?'
【Rose was wandering around looking for food. Because she received no response when knocking on the doors of other houses, she eventually arrived at the house where Annie was...】
The magic mirror's information quickly surfaced in Olivia's mind.
Upon learning how Rose had controlled Annie, Olivia couldn't help but stare blankly for a moment. She felt the process was a bit farcical and lacked seriousness.
Yet, the fact remained that this was the result. Annie had been controlled by Rose just like that, despite her incredibly formidable strength.
'By the way, magic mirror, what class rank of transcendent is Annie?'
【Her class rank is Evolver.】
An Evolver?
Olivia couldn't help but gasp. She could almost certainly conclude that Annie was a high-ranking member of the Twilight Council, possessing an extraordinary status.
This was because an Evolver was the seventh class rank of a transcendent—a high-level class rank in the truest sense!
And yet, such a powerful existence had actually been controlled by Rose?
What exactly was the deal with Rose?
Olivia couldn't resist pressing further in her heart.
'Magic mirror, magic mirror, tell me about Rose's true nature.'
As she asked this question, Olivia pursed her lips.
This had been a long-standing doubt in her heart. She had encountered Rose early on and understood her peculiarities, but she never understood why Rose appeared so strange.
Could the magic mirror reveal these answers to her today?
The magic mirror's response soon appeared in Olivia's mind.
【Rose is currently human yet not human, a forbidden artifact yet not a forbidden artifact. She is an aggregate of a human and a forbidden artifact that has never been heard of before.】
【In the past, she might have been a rather mad individual who fused with a forbidden artifact to achieve some goal. However, she clearly failed in the end, resulting in her current state.】
【She is no longer the person she once was, nor is she a simple forbidden artifact.】
【As a strange aggregate, she not only causes those who are not high-level class rank transcendents to forget her, but she even frequently forgets what she has done or where she has been. At the very least, she has forgotten the matter of being half-human and half-forbidden artifact.】
【She does not know what she should do in the future, nor does she know of her own peculiarities. She only thinks of herself as a homeless little girl, aimlessly begging and living her life.】
Sensing the information appearing in her mind, Olivia stood dazed, feeling that everything was far too unexpected.
Rose was actually half-human and half-forbidden artifact?
What kind of entity was that?
She had never truly thought in this direction before, so receiving the answer now gave her quite an internal shock.
She pondered for a moment, then continued to inquire in her heart, asking more about Rose and receiving constant answers from the magic mirror.
The magic mirror could answer many questions, but it had no way of judging Rose's much earlier past, as there were things that even Rose herself had forgotten.
Before becoming a half-human, half-forbidden artifact hybrid, was Rose a human or a forbidden artifact?
If she was human, who was she?
If she was a forbidden artifact, what kind of artifact was she?
Even the magic mirror could not provide answers to these questions.
'Mirror, is there any danger in contacting Rose? Does she still remember me?'
【There is no danger. She still remembers you, Master. Only things she has not had contact with for a certain period of time are forgotten. This duration is not fixed; it could be as short as a month or as long as a year.】
Olivia understood.
Since there was no danger in contacting Rose, she felt inclined to interact with her, whether for Rose's own sake or for the sake of Annie Spoorberg, who was currently being controlled by her.
But not right now.
She had to finish dealing with the matters at hand first.
After confirming that the altar before her was no longer functional, Olivia turned and headed toward the houses near the square. She found the residents of Huys Street who had been captured, as well as some of the clergy who had been defeated and seized earlier.
She rescued everyone, encountering no further obstacles during the process.
This was because anyone belonging to the Twilight Council had charged at her during the previous battle and died by her hand. In such a situation, it was impossible for anyone to have remained on the sidelines.
As the people were rescued one by one, they were initially a bit dazed, not knowing what had happened.
Although they had heard the shouts and sounds of slaughter coming from the square because they weren't too far from Huys Square, they couldn't see the specifics of what was occurring.
It wasn't until they were rescued that someone finally asked.
"Excuse me... where are those heretics?"
"Dead,"
Olivia gave a simple answer.
She didn't have time to explain too much. After saving the people in one house, she had to go to the next to free more.
However, as more people were liberated, some began to help by going to the other houses to untie the rest, making the rescue process very efficient.
When she arrived at the house where Jessica, Andre, and the others were held, Olivia's heart couldn't help but tighten.
The people in this room were in a particularly wretched state. Everyone looked as though they had been brutally beaten, and quite a bit of blood remained on the floor.
When Olivia entered and saw them, they naturally saw her too, their eyes widening one after another.
"You... how did you..."
"Don't worry, it's over. I won."
With just a single sentence, Olivia put everyone at ease.
She first untied Andre the Priest, letting him use his healing abilities to treat everyone, and then proceeded to untie the rest.
While performing the healing, Andre couldn't help but ask, "Sister Olivia, you said the matter has been resolved. Did reinforcements from the Church arrive?"
"Not exactly, it's just..." Olivia weighed her words and said, "I happened to have some spiritual materials on me. After I escaped earlier, I completed my advancement. My class rank rose to Sensate, so I managed to defeat all the enemies. That's all."
A look of pure confusion instantly appeared on Andre's face.
