Chapter 340 · Volume 1

The Twilight Council Becomes a Thing of the Past

As the earth spikes pierced through his body one by one, Archil felt as if his entire world was collapsing.
Had they been ordinary earth spikes, they might have caused significant injury, but they would not have been fatal. After all, he was an angel, possessed of an incredibly powerful self-healing ability.
But these earth spikes, condensed from the laws themselves, were different.
Though they appeared no different from ordinary earth spikes on the surface, their internal essence was worlds apart. The spikes that impaled him acted as a seal, locking his life force so tightly that not even a fraction of his healing power could manifest.
In this moment, even if he was loath to admit it, Archil knew he was finished.
Before Olivia, he was as fragile as a sheet of paper.
He was consumed by a profound sense of indignation, but no amount of resentment could change his fate. An overwhelming sensation of weakness flooded his heart, growing more intense until his consciousness plunged into absolute darkness.
Archil was dead.
An angel had crossed many worlds to come here for the sole purpose of hunting Olivia, yet he had ultimately died at her hands.
Olivia’s simple actions had produced a result that would shock the inhabitants of every major world.
After dealing with Archil, Olivia felt no significant emotional stirrings.
She tilted her head slightly, listening to the movements carried on the wind.
The Divine Language had surfaced once more.
She had the magic mirror translate it for her immediately and soon understood which law the Divine Language belonged to this time.
It was the Law of Wind.
Olivia bathed in the breeze, her long hair fluttering as she relaxed her body and mind, sensing the new power. Wind was omnipresent, so she did not need to stay in one place to comprehend it. She took to the sky, flying in a specific direction while experiencing the flow of the wind.
She was heading toward the location of the Twilight Council.
She felt that comprehending various laws did not seem to hinder her ability to handle matters in the main world. As for the heretical organization that had been constantly opposing her, it was better to deal with them now while it was convenient.
Olivia flew on, covering a vast distance in a short time.
By the time a massive cliff appeared before her eyes and she spotted the castle perched upon it, she had finally mastered the Law of Wind.
"Let the wind rise."
Olivia gave a light wave of her hand, and a fierce storm condensed around her.
Immediately after, a colossal tornado materialized out of thin air. It connected the heavens to the earth, emitting a terrifying tearing force that caused the ground to crack and uprooted trees and plants, sucking them in and shredding them into dust.
With a gentle push from Olivia, the massive tornado surged toward the cliff ahead.
This scene left Cian and the rest of the Twilight Council members inside the cliff castle utterly aghast.
They never expected to face a sudden attack, let alone one so devastating.
"Is that not Olivia?"
Cian spotted Olivia’s figure from afar, his gaze searching frantically.
He knew Archil had gone to find Olivia, yet here she was. What did that imply?
It meant that Archil had likely failed.
Realizing this, Cian did not dare to fight Olivia head-on. He turned and plunged into an alternate space.
This alternate space was not the Black World. It was an alternate space adjacent to the main world, controlled by the Twilight Council.
As Cian and a few other council members fled into the alternate space, the tornado tore through, grinding the entire cliff into sand and obliterating everything within it.
Olivia arrived through the void. With a sweep of her gaze, she knew that some people had hidden in an alternate space.
She knew exactly how to enter the alternate space controlled by the Twilight Council.
After becoming a Controller, she had been able to have the magic mirror re-map certain areas, and at that time, she had chosen twenty alternate spaces. Aside from the spaces directly under the gods' jurisdiction, she had not overlooked others, including the one held by the Twilight Council.
Special methods were required to enter such unique spaces, but those methods could naturally not be hidden from Olivia.
...
Within a massive city, Cian appeared.
It was a very strange city; throughout its streets, altars stood one after another. Some were large and some were small, but all were carved with Sylvan Runes, exuding a thick aura of death.
This was the alternate space controlled by the Twilight Council. The remaining members of the council were basically all here now, and many wore expressions of panic.
Even if they worshipped the Death Sovereign, they did not wish for their own deaths.
"Head, what should we do?"
Countless gazes turned toward Cian.
Cian said with a dark expression, "What else can we do? We must contact the great Death Sovereign immediately."
The current situation had completely exceeded his ability to handle. Even the angel Archil had most likely died at Olivia’s hands. Cian was merely a Destroyer; he naturally had no desire to face Olivia directly.
However, just as Cian was about to act, a ripple of teleportation manifested beside him. Immediately after, Olivia’s figure appeared.
"It’s quite lively here."
The moment Olivia appeared, she scanned the surroundings with a faint smile on her face.
Her appearance, however, was like a bolt from the blue to the members of the Twilight Council.
Cian’s pupils constricted, his scalp tingling with a numb sensation. He could not understand how Olivia had managed to get here. Did she even know the method to enter this place?
In that instant, Cian’s entire body trembled uncontrollably. He took several deep breaths before he could manage to speak. "Olivia, you..."
Bang!
Olivia didn't let Cian waste any more breath. She struck out with a palm from a distance. As divine power surged, Cian’s body instantly exploded into fragments.
She had come to slaughter, not to chat.
This Head of the Twilight Council, a figure who had struck terror into the main world for countless years, died at Olivia's hands without the slightest power to resist.
Olivia then snapped her fingers, and tornado after tornado manifested, rampaging in all directions. They began to destroy every altar in sight and kill every person they encountered.
The Twilight Council, the largest heretical organization in the main world, was destined to become a thing of the past this day.
