The Twilight Divine Domain was named for the perpetual twilight glow that shrouded it.
After the carriage descended into the Twilight Divine Domain, the Radiant Goddess lifted the curtain to look outside.
“It seems we’ve arrived early. Let’s wait for a while,” she said, letting the curtain fall back into place.
By now, it was certain that the Twilight Divine Domain would be the venue for the competition among the gods.
Olivia’s heart stirred. She quietly contacted the magic mirror, instructing it to include the Twilight Divine Domain within its range of control.
The magic mirror immediately gave an affirmative response.
【Master, the Twilight Divine Domain has been successfully included within the range of control.】
It was a task completed in an instant.
Seeing the magic mirror's successful confirmation, Olivia curiously asked about the various conditions of the Twilight Divine Domain.
The magic mirror, now omniscient regarding the domain, provided detailed answers.
Among the many public divine domains in the Divine Realm, the Twilight Divine Domain was relatively large. Its central location, neither too close nor too far from the other deities' domains, was why it had been chosen as the competition site.
In the past, believers from various divine domains would travel here.
While believers could not enter other gods' private domains at will, they were free to visit public ones.
However, once this area was selected for the competition, all believers were evacuated, leaving it empty until the gods arrived with their chosen representatives.
How many deities have arrived in the Twilight Divine Domain so far?
【Master, those who have arrived so far are the Radiant Goddess, the Elemental God of Magic, and the Sword God.】
Only three deities?
Furthermore, the Elemental God of Magic and the Sword God were only known by name in the Main World; no organizations associated with them existed there.
However, Olivia had previously learned that while the Elemental God of Magic lacked a presence in the Main World, he had a corresponding following in alternate spaces, where most of his believers resided.
She assumed the Sword God was in a similar situation.
Such deities were actually quite numerous.
The magic mirror provided a detailed explanation.
The Main World was limited in scope. Once other gods had descended and claimed all the domains, any latecomers who wished to intervene would have to do battle with those already established.
Deities like the Elemental God of Magic and the Sword God chose not to fight, resulting in their current status.
However, the Elemental God of Magic had been subtle, secretly leaving behind heritages and miracles, which allowed him to maintain a significant reputation in the Main World.
Should the opportunity to establish a church-like organization arise in the future, he would have a considerable advantage.
He was unlike the Sword God, who existed almost entirely in legend.
Then there were those who chose to wage war against the predecessor gods.
The most typical representative of such a deity was the Death Sovereign, which was how the Twilight Council had come to be.
As Olivia and the magic mirror conversed silently, a massive force of death suddenly descended from the sky, making her feel momentarily suffocated.
Then, a voice echoed from afar.
“Radiant, what was the meaning of your previous actions?” The majestic voice seemed to carry the power of judgment.
Startled, Olivia quickly asked the magic mirror who was speaking.
【It is the Death Sovereign. He has just arrived.】
As the Death Sovereign questioned her, the Radiant Goddess opened her eyes, which shimmered with golden light.
With a soft huff, intense light erupted from the carriage, sweeping away the pressure brought by the Death Sovereign in an instant.
Then, the Radiant Goddess pulled back the curtain and stepped outside.
“The meaning? I found you unpleasant to look at. Is that reason enough? If you have a problem, come and do something about it.”
Her response was blunt and aggressive, without a hint of politeness.
As she left the cabin, Olivia and the others exchanged glances before quietly following her out.
Within the vast Twilight Divine Domain, a perpetual dusky hue reigned.
On the horizon of this dim landscape, a colossal, pitch-black figure stood.
The figure seemed to be composed of eerie black gas, which formed the shape of a robe enveloping him, topped with a high hat.
This is the Death Sovereign?
Just looking at him gave Olivia palpitations, as if death itself were creeping up on her.
“Radiant, you are as arrogant as ever. I hope you can maintain that attitude later.”
The Death Sovereign did not actually move to strike. Instead, his figure faded and vanished without a trace.
The Radiant Goddess sneered at the sight.
She turned to Olivia and the others and said, “That fellow just now was the Death Sovereign. You should be familiar with him.
“His Twilight Council has caused no shortage of trouble for our Radiant Light Church.
“When you face the members of the Twilight Council later, hit them with everything you’ve got. Do you hear me?”
“Yes, Goddess.”
Everyone naturally agreed to her command.
Besides, the enmity between the Radiant Light Church and the Twilight Council was indeed profound.
Among the many heretical organizations, the Twilight Council was the largest.
In fact, many heretical organizations had the shadows of deities behind them.
However, some gods were merely figureheads who did little, so their corresponding organizations were not particularly strong.
For instance, Dreamland Paradise and the Bloody Sickle both worshipped deities, yet even as those organizations faced destruction, their respective gods did nothing.
But the Death Sovereign was different. He frequently intervened to support the Twilight Council, which was why it had become so powerful.
It was clear that the Death Sovereign desperately wanted to establish a foothold in the Main World.
However, that was no easy task.
After all, the gods of the Main World kept their respective domains under tight control and had no room to spare for him.
Subsequently, one deity after another began to descend upon the Twilight Divine Domain.
These were all deities Olivia and the others had heard of or studied; even those who existed only in legends in the Main World still had their names spoken.
Among them, the Earth Goddess, the Star Goddess, and the Nature Goddess descended together.
They were the deities worshipped by the three major powers of the Varian Empire, having long formed an alliance that constituted the largest divine faction.
The Goddess of Fate, worshipped by the Moriah Empire, descended shortly after. She came over specifically to converse with the Radiant Goddess for a while, appearing to be on good terms with her.
Olivia wondered if it was just her imagination, but she felt that as the Goddess of Fate approached, she kept casting intentional or unintentional glances in her direction.
