Olivia waved the foxtail grass in her hand and asked Sweet Dream, "I want to know everything related to Rose."
Hearing that Olivia was finally willing to ask a question, Sweet Dream's eyes couldn't help but flicker.
She looked up, her pupils trembling slightly because that piece of foxtail grass was still waving back and forth before her eyes.
She lowered her head again and began to speak slowly, recounting what she knew.
"To talk about Rose, one must mention God's Ruins.
"A long time ago, those of us from Dreamland Paradise frequently explored God's Ruins. After all, it was the legendary Divine Realm, the place where the gods once lived.
"Even though it was later abandoned by the gods, no one knew what kind of treasures might be hidden there. Perhaps some things were beneath the gods' notice, but to us, they were rare treasures.
"It was during one of these explorations that we discovered Rose."
At this point, even Sweet Dream's gaze became turbulent.
"To be precise, the Rose we saw was not like the one you see today, but a figure sealed within a strange crystal.
"That figure was very blurry—so blurry that we couldn't make out her appearance. We could only sense her aura and judge that she was anything but simple.
"We tried to open the ice crystal to release the figure inside, but we failed.
"The ice crystal was unbreakable; we had no way to crack it open.
"Furthermore, we tried to transport the ice crystal away, but that also failed. The crystal could only exist in its original spot, unable to be moved at all.
"We couldn't keep our entire force stationed there forever. During a time when only a small number of people were guarding the crystal, it cracked, and the person inside came out.
"We don't know what happened after that because everyone stationed there at the time died.
"By the time we rushed back, all we saw were corpses strewn across the ground and the shattered remnants of the ice crystal.
"We began searching everywhere, wanting to find where the figure that left the crystal had gone.
"During this search, we finally discovered some traces and followed them continuously, eventually leaving God's Ruins.
"That was how we knew that entity had left that place.
"We continued to search for traces outside, but after leaving God's Ruins, we discovered that our memories began to suffer from issues.
"As time passed, we would uncontrollably forget details about that entity. Eventually, we even forgot why we were searching and what we were looking for.
"It wasn't until we returned to God's Ruins once more that those forgotten memories resurfaced.
"Once we understood this, we began making preparations within God's Ruins.
"We had no way to guarantee we would remember the target while outside, so we found a way to create Paradise—the same Paradise you've seen before.
"We wanted to use the unique properties of Paradise to hold onto the memory of that entity.
"As it turned out, this was indeed a fairly effective method. With Paradise, we were truly able to capture traces of that entity and track her step by step to Kaliron.
"As for what happened after that, you already know."
So this was the entanglement between Dreamland Paradise and Rose?
Olivia frowned as she listened and asked, "Have you still not figured out Rose's specific origins?"
"We don't know. The figure we saw inside the mysterious crystal should be Rose.
"Based on various subsequent findings, she might have originally been some high-level class rank transcendent who later used some unknown special method to fuse with a forbidden artifact, resulting in her current peculiar form.
"Of course, this is merely our speculation. We don't know if this guess is true or false, right or wrong."
This wasn't just Dreamland Paradise's speculation; it was also the Magic Mirror's speculation.
No, calling it a speculation wasn't entirely accurate. The Magic Mirror's previous guess regarding Rose had originally come from the people of Dreamland Paradise.
"Do you know any more information?"
"Regarding matters related to Rose, that is all I know."
"You don't know her original identity, and you don't know what forbidden artifact she fused with?"
"I don't. I don't know any of that."
"Is it that you don't know, or that you don't want to say?"
Olivia raised the foxtail grass in her hand. She was clearly unsatisfied with the information obtained so far; these details alone couldn't resolve the doubts in her heart.
Seeing that foxtail grass, Sweet Dream's expression changed instantly. "Don't do that! I really don't know.
"The matter of Rose is a mystery even within our Dreamland Paradise. We don't fully understand her situation.
"After all, as you know, as soon as we leave God's Ruins, we forget everything about her. We can only remember her while inside God's Ruins."
"Aren't you remembering her just fine right now?"
"I don't know why, but after Rose was taken away by the Church, our memories of her finally stopped fading."
"Is that so?"
Olivia pondered for a moment before beginning to ask Sweet Dream other questions.
She stayed with Sweet Dream for a long time, asking about many things and receiving many answers.
As for how many of those answers were true and how many were false, she would have to distinguish them herself.
Once she was finished with Sweet Dream, Olivia left the stone room and headed to another floating island to find Nightmare.
The interrogation room where Nightmare was held was currently plunged into total darkness.
Although Olivia had gone to Sweet Dream first, she had given orders regarding Nightmare's side, requesting that it be kept in absolute darkness, and the Church personnel had done a good job.
However, Olivia didn't expect that when she entered the interrogation room where Nightmare was, the first thing she would hear was the sound of sobbing.
Nightmare was crying.
A dignified Evolver had actually been so frightened by being trapped in endless darkness for so long that they started crying.
Such a scene left Olivia speechless for a moment.
"Do you want to turn on a light?" Olivia's voice drifted through the darkness.
Upon hearing the voice, Nightmare's body jolted violently. "Turn on the light! Turn it on now!"
Olivia, of course, wouldn't turn it on immediately. Instead, she said unhurriedly, "Answer my questions first. If I'm satisfied with your answers, then the place where you are will always have light."
"Ask! Just ask! I'll tell you anything!" Nightmare said hurriedly.
Does this person have some kind of psychological trauma regarding the dark?
Olivia wondered privately, then asked, "I want to know everything about Rose."
