"Did I say something wrong? Isn't your skin thick enough already?"
Sybil looked up at Atticus, her words carrying a sharp edge of disdain.
"I don't want to get into a war of words with you; I prefer to speak with my fists," Atticus said unhappily.
"Then go use your fists on our Pope. You're both Protagonists of the Era; I'm sure you'll find plenty of common ground."
"Must you keep bringing up your Pope? Aside from him, are your other Protagonists of the Era not worth mentioning?"
"Hah, whether our Protagonists are worth mentioning is for the public to decide. Unlike some people, who think they're superior without a single victory against another Protagonist of the Era."
"You're truly unreasonable."
Atticus was visibly irritated.
He wasn't someone who excelled at verbal sparring. Under normal circumstances, no one would dare challenge him with words; he almost always used his fists to handle matters.
Faced with Sybil's sharp tongue, he found himself at a loss for a retort. He simply snorted and turned to leave.
He didn't want to waste any more breath on her.
The woman was completely unreasonable, and he knew he couldn't win an argument against her.
However, he had no intention of giving up.
After leaving the Morning Light Cathedral, Atticus looked up at the sky, his expression eager.
Perhaps flying up directly and forcing a fight with Olivia Melianne was the best option?
But just as the thought crossed his mind, he noticed Sybil's figure rising into the air from the cathedral, looking down at him from mid-air.
How annoying.
Seeing this, Atticus had no choice but to turn and walk away.
Of course, he still hadn't given up.
Upon returning to the embassy, Atticus immediately summoned everyone from the Varian Empire. This included not only those from the Earth Church but also representatives from the Nature Sect and the Tower of Stars.
Although the three major factions were distinct, they were all part of the Varian Empire and considered their own people.
Once everyone was gathered, Atticus recounted his exchange at the Radiant Light Church.
"The Radiant Light Church won't let me challenge her, but I'm going to do it anyway. Give me some suggestions. What should I do?"
Hearing Atticus's words, the group looked at one another in silence.
"Is it necessary to go this far? Atticus, perhaps we shouldn't dwell on such matters. Our primary goal in Kaliron is the secret of immortality within the Radiant Light Church. I feel it's better not to sour our relationship with them too much."
The speaker was Holly Mason of the Nature Sect.
She was a woman with long, curly deep-green hair and a voluptuous figure, her voice carrying a hint of worry.
She was also a Skywalker. Although she wasn't a Protagonist of the Era, as the current leader of the Nature Sect in Kaliron, she stood on equal footing when speaking with Atticus.
Seeing that Holly had spoken up, Hector Donovan, the leader of the Tower of Stars warriors, also chimed in.
"Exactly, Atticus. Our main objective is the secret of immortality held by the Radiant Light Church. You must keep that as your priority."
He wore moon-white robes and possessed a very refined appearance, speaking with a gentle and calm tone.
Atticus frowned slightly and said, "I understand what you're saying, but do you really think maintaining a good relationship with the Radiant Light Church will help us discover their secrets?"
"We and the other factions have been in Kaliron for quite some time now, yet who has obtained any information regarding the secret of immortality?"
"The Radiant Light Church clearly has no intention of sharing that information, and we have no other way to learn about it. Since that's the case, why should we keep swallowing our pride?"
"And since you brought it up, why don't we combine the two matters?"
"I will issue a public challenge to the Radiant Light Church and find a way to make them accept."
"If I win, I'll demand they tell me the secret of immortality."
"And if I lose, we'll pay a corresponding price. What do you think?"
"They won't agree," Holly shook her head. "The church has already refused you. Why do you think that is?"
"They refused because they aren't confident in themselves. Naturally, they won't agree to such a massive wager."
Holly's words were blunt and realistic.
Atticus rubbed his head and said, "That's why I brought you all here to brainstorm—to discuss how we can pressure the Radiant Light Church into accepting this challenge."
Holly still shook her head. "Pressure won't work. Olivia has only just advanced to Skywalker. In the eyes of the Radiant Light Church, she's at a natural disadvantage, so they won't agree."
"What about Guinevere Frost?" Atticus mentioned the other Protagonist of the Era in the Radiant Light Church. "That woman is also a Skywalker, isn't she?"
Holly thought for a moment and said, "But didn't the church say before that Guinevere is working hard to become an Evolver? They claimed she doesn't have the time."
"Hmph, as long as she's not currently in the middle of an advancement ritual, how could she not have time? Those are all just excuses," Atticus sneered. "I already have some ideas. All I need is for you to cooperate with me..."
Atticus's eyes flickered as he began to slowly lay out his plan.
...
At this moment, Olivia Melianne had no idea that a vortex centered around her was forming.
While holding the magic mirror allowed her to know everything, that was only if she took the initiative to ask.
Right now, the questions she asked were all focused on self-improvement.
She flew while bathed in thunder, her entire being illuminated by clusters of lightning.
Despite being struck by lightning for so long, there wasn't a single charred mark on her body.
Under the stimulation of the lightning, her physical strength grew even greater, and her power was increasing every second.
Furthermore, she was gaining an understanding of abilities like Limb Extension and Giant Spirit Hand.
Among them, Olivia had a deeper understanding of the Limb Extension ability.
This ability allowed one to extend their arms; the extended portions included bone, blood vessels, fascia, flesh, and skin.
Using an ability that altered one's physical structure was naturally not simple.
However, under the stimulation of the thunder, Olivia gained a progressively better understanding of her own physical structure.
Olivia felt that as long as she continued training in the manner provided by the magic mirror, she might be able to master this ability in just a few days.
This rate of improvement was enough to make anyone die of envy.
