This power was not small; it could be called a pivotal position within the Rose Legion, but it was not all good news.
Because the Rose Legion had no money.
After explaining the details of Olivia's position, Gerard led Olivia away from the manor and headed to a mall in the Main District.
This mall was located on Sunflower Street and was named the Sunflower Mall; it was an asset of the Rose Legion.
Unlike other flourishing malls, the foot traffic at the Sunflower Mall was extremely low; even after Olivia arrived, she barely saw anyone entering or leaving.
Although the mall was filled with a dazzling array of goods, there were few customers.
Did this mean the people of the Rose Legion lacked business acumen? One could see from this why the Rose Legion was short on money; if they could not even manage a mall properly, how could they run a transcendent organization?
And now, this mall was being handed over to Olivia to handle.
'My disguised identity is a merchant, and then they give me a mall to manage; the appointment is truly precise.'
Olivia thought to herself.
Not only had she arrived, but Freya had also come along. After all, the current Freya was considered her deputy.
Looking at the mall ahead, Freya asked Olivia, "Miss Stella, how do you plan to manage this mall?"
Olivia shook her head. "Managing the mall itself is secondary; let's go inside and take a look first."
The so-called mall was merely one of the Rose Legion's public identities used to cover certain things.
She said no more and followed Gerard straight into the mall, arriving at a secret room inside.
Important records and information of the Rose Legion were kept in this secret room; all processing of the Rose Legion's affairs would take place here.
Gerard said to Olivia, "Miss Stella, this place will be entrusted to you from now on."
"Regarding the collection of resources within the organization, I believe you can do a good job; the organization will also remind you of what resources it needs."
"As for the mall outside, if you are interested in managing it to obtain more wealth, you are certainly welcome to do so."
"If you have no interest in managing it, you may ignore it, as long as you do not let it go bankrupt."
Olivia nodded, indicating she understood.
Gerard did not stay long; he simply drafted a list for her, indicating that there were some people who would be directly under her management and become her subordinates.
Olivia looked over the list and found that Esme was among them, along with others she had or had not contacted during this time.
At this moment, Olivia truly felt that her status within the Rose Legion had risen.
After finishing the instructions, Gerard left in a hurry. The Rose Legion was currently in a period of upheaval, and the matters Gerard was responsible for were not few.
In the secret room of the Sunflower Mall, only Olivia and Freya remained in the blink of an eye.
Freya walked around the secret room, picked up a list on the desk, glanced at it, and handed it to Olivia.
"What is this?" Olivia took it and looked.
"These are some things the organization needs; they want us to procure them." Freya had clearly looked into what this position entailed beforehand and was very clear about it.
She also opened a drawer and took out a list, indicating that the people on this list were all transaction partners who could currently be contacted.
To procure items, perhaps they could start with these transaction partners.
Olivia looked at the Rose Legion's requirement list.
The things requested on the list were not few at all; there were all kinds of spiritual materials, enough to make one's head spin.
She did a simple calculation and could deduce how much capital would be required to purchase these materials.
Then, she directly asked the magic mirror in her heart, wanting to know how much capital the Sunflower Chamber of Commerce had left. The magic mirror quickly gave an answer.
When she received the reply, Olivia couldn't help but laugh in frustration.
The Sunflower Chamber of Commerce had left almost no money at all; it was clearly not enough to purchase the resources on the list, not even a twentieth of the required amount.
In other words, the Rose Legion wanted the items but was unwilling to provide the money; were they expecting her to pay out of her own pocket?
Although Olivia could apply for the church to pay this sum, she still felt a bit disgruntled.
She glanced at Freya and asked, "Madam Freya, what do you think of this? Judging by the operating status of the Sunflower Chamber of Commerce, we might not have the money to purchase this batch of supplies."
"I think so too; the organization probably cannot provide enough money, and this gap might need to be filled by us," Freya said with a shrug.
"But I have no money either; are you willing to fill these gaps?" Olivia asked.
"Miss Stella, I remember you are from the Elijah Chamber of Commerce, and since the Elijah Chamber of Commerce is flourishing now, you shouldn't be short of money, right?" Freya clearly had enough understanding of Olivia's surface identity.
"The Elijah Chamber of Commerce is not my chamber of commerce after all, but my father's. My father is not in Kaliron now, so there is a lot of money I cannot use; that is money that requires my father's signature to be accessed." Olivia's excuse was perfectly reasonable.
Hearing Olivia say this, Freya also fell silent for a moment.
If she had taken the position of the person in charge and managed the Sunflower Mall herself, then paying some capital would be understandable.
But the problem was that the person sitting in that position now was Olivia; she was merely Olivia's deputy, so was there still a need to pay so much wealth?
So after a moment of deliberation, Freya shook her head. "Unfortunately, I have no money either."
"Then we can only stall for now." Olivia shrugged.
She had no intention of filling this gap, because even if she did, her status would not change in the short term; she would still be a vice deacon.
And not filling this gap would not have much of an impact on her, having just become a vice deacon.
So be it; she would just slack off.
She wanted only this position; as long as she held such a position, many things within the Rose Legion would be unable to bypass her in the future, and that was enough.
In Olivia's view, the things she could do on the Rose Legion's side had almost reached a limit.
After all, the Rose Legion was not limited to Kaliron; its true power was in the royal space.
And because of previous events, the people in the royal space would clearly not easily establish any connection with the Rose Legion again, so there was not much more she could do.
With this freed-up time, she had more important things to do.
