As for what tasks to give Olivia, nothing had been determined yet; it would take time to arrange.
For now, Esme would lead Olivia to handle some minor affairs of the Rose Legion, allowing Olivia to gain a better understanding of the organization.
Naturally, everything Olivia was allowed to touch at the beginning involved unimportant people and matters.
In any case, Olivia had successfully gone undercover within the Rose Legion.
'I hope the Rose Legion won't suddenly get the bright idea to send me back to the Church as a mole... That shouldn't happen. They recruited me into the Rose Legion because they wanted money; there's no reason to send me back as an undercover agent.'
Thinking this, Olivia relaxed quite a bit.
......
A day passed in the blink of an eye.
During this day, Olivia followed Esme around various strongholds in the Main District, getting to know some of the less significant members of the Rose Legion.
It wasn't until nightfall that she bid Esme farewell and returned to the Elijah Chamber of Commerce.
'Today didn't yield much useful information... It’s clear that I’m not particularly trusted yet, not until I complete the tasks they provide.'
Olivia thought to herself.
Regardless, now that the initial stage of joining the Rose Legion was settled, she needed to report this matter to the Church.
Although this mission was a joint responsibility of the Sunlight Cathedral and the Morning Light Cathedral, and she was currently in the Main District overseen by the Morning Light Cathedral, she still preferred to mention it to the Sunlight Cathedral.
After all, visiting the Sunlight Cathedral was more convenient.
Upon entering her room at the Elijah Chamber of Commerce, Olivia immediately activated King's Domain. She planned to teleport back to her home on Annus Street first, then use King's Domain again to cover the South District and teleport to the Sunlight Cathedral.
However, before leaving, Olivia asked a question in her mind.
'Magic mirror, there shouldn't be anyone else looking for me at home, right?'
【Thales Walker is currently at the master's home, waiting for the master's return.】
Who?
Olivia's movement to return froze instantly, her brows furrowing slightly.
'Magic mirror, who is this Thales? Why is he in my home?'
【He is a high-ranking member of the Rose Legion. He entered my range of control only a short while ago and immediately arrived at the master's home. He likely came for Fiona.】
Hearing the magic mirror's answer, Olivia's expression turned grim.
Someone from the Rose Legion?
And he was here for Fiona?
Facing members of the Rose Legion in two different identities in a single day made Olivia feel quite strange.
She took a deep breath and continued to question the magic mirror about Thales's situation, wanting to know exactly how much he knew about Fiona Cortez's death.
The results of her inquiry were somewhat reassuring.
According to the magic mirror's judgment, Thales did not know that Fiona had died by her hand, nor did he even know that Fiona was dead.
Judging from some of Thales's mutterings to himself, it seemed that Thales and Fiona were supposed to have a meeting today, but Fiona had vanished. That was why Thales was looking for her.
Since Thales didn't know where Fiona had gone, and Fiona had mentioned she was going to see Olivia, Thales had simply sought Olivia out.
'My undercover identity is supposed to be strictly confidential, yet Fiona just told someone about it so casually. Even if the other party is also from the Rose Legion, this is hardly appropriate. Does that woman not understand the concept of secrecy?'
Olivia frowned.
Ultimately, because Fiona had revealed her before dying, she was now facing some trouble.
Fortunately, Thales didn't know the specific details, so she still had a way to handle it.
Regardless, Olivia couldn't teleport directly home now.
She changed into a nun uniform before using King's Domain to teleport to a location near her home on Annus Street, then walked the rest of the way back.
She briefly planned her next moves in her mind.
Of course, the magic mirror could provide specific actions and even lines of dialogue to ensure her safety.
Feeling that there were no issues, Olivia returned home normally and opened the door.
As soon as she entered the living room, Olivia pretended to notice something and gasped in shock, "Who? Who is it?"
While questioning, she quickly gripped Cross Grace in her hand, assuming a defensive posture.
Immediately after, the sound of clapping drifted over.
A voice of praise followed: "Not bad, not bad at all. To notice something was wrong the moment you got home—you are very alert.
"As someone undercover in the Radiant Light Church, your vigilance is worthy of that role.
"I heard you've been making quite a name for yourself within the Church as well. This is more than enough to prove your excellence as a mole.
"I have high expectations for you, Olivia."
Following the words, the lights in the living room clicked on with a snap.
An elderly man with a white beard and cloudy eyes slowly revealed himself.
It was Thales Walker!
Seeing Olivia's expression shift several times, a smile appeared on Thales's face.
"No need to worry, Olivia. I am not your enemy. I am Thales, of the Rose Legion."
Since the man had revealed his identity, Olivia "had" to choose to believe him.
"Lord Thales, may I ask why you have come to see me? The one previously responsible for contacting me was..."
"It was Fiona, right?"
Thales smiled slightly and continued, "My arrival is related to Fiona. Fiona contacted you recently, didn't she?"
Olivia nodded. "Yes."
"Then, was yesterday the earliest you saw Fiona?"
"No, it was much earlier than that."
Olivia recalled for a moment and pointed out a much more distant time, causing a look of confusion to appear on Thales's face.
He asked in puzzlement, "But shouldn't Fiona have contacted you recently?"
"Lady Fiona did indeed contact me, but it was only through letters. We did not meet in person."
"I see."
Thales nodded slightly, then asked Olivia to recount the contents of her recent correspondence with Fiona.
Olivia spoke appropriately.
"Lady Fiona wanted me to obtain funds through the Church; this was stated clearly in her letter.
"However, I feel that such a thing is very difficult to accomplish.
"The Church's money is not so easily taken.
"So when Lady Fiona wrote yesterday saying she would come to see me at midnight, I had already prepared a speech to persuade her to give up on that idea.
"But, strangely enough, Lady Fiona never showed up."
