Everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.
While Olivia quickly completed her arrangements, she asked silently in her heart.
‘Magic mirror, is there anything else I need to watch out for?’
【Beware of attacks from alternate spaces.】
What did that mean?
Olivia frowned slightly and asked for more detail. The magic mirror quickly provided an answer.
Paradise was an alternate space.
Such alternate spaces existing outside the physical world were not actually rare. For example, the headquarters of the Radiant Light Church was located within an alternate space.
These alternate spaces were independent of the physical world. The magic mirror was currently unable to extend its range of control into them, a feat that would require Olivia to undergo more growth.
However, while the magic mirror did not know exactly what was happening inside Paradise, it could make a fairly accurate judgment based on various pieces of information.
It believed that as the church moved against Dreamland Paradise, the organization would inevitably choose to retaliate. Their counterattack would not be confined to Paradise but would involve reality as well.
Paradise was a dream. By acting in both the dream and reality simultaneously, they could distract the church to the greatest extent possible, ensuring the capture of their prey, Rose, went more smoothly.
Although Rose had already been pulled into Paradise, she still possessed the ability to resist and had not yet been completely brought under control by the people of Dreamland Paradise.
Therefore, the people of Dreamland Paradise needed to buy more time.
Understanding the situation, Olivia immediately went on high alert.
She checked the clergy she could currently control, preparing to teleport everyone to different positions at any moment.
Furthermore, she cautiously took a few steps back, moving closer to Daylight Cathedral to ensure that if something truly went wrong, she could quickly retreat inside.
No matter how dangerous it was outside, Daylight Cathedral was a guaranteed safe haven.
The moonlight gradually vanished behind a layer of clouds.
The vast South District fell into a deep gloom. The dimness always brought with it a sense of impending misfortune.
At some point, Olivia noticed the world had changed.
This change came silently and extremely suddenly. Had Olivia not been watching her surroundings every second, she might not have noticed the shift immediately.
The entire world had changed.
The world had turned into a place of only black and white. It was as if she had been pulled into a world of the dead; after all, black and white often corresponded to the end of life, the final curtain call for all things.
‘Magic mirror, what kind of trick is this?’
Olivia hurriedly asked in her heart.
【This is a technique called Dream Giant. It can manifest giants condensed within dreams into the physical world. A dream giant does not have the ability to destroy physical matter, but it can cause damage to living beings. To harm a dream giant, one cannot rely on the weapon alone; at the very least, enough magic must be infused into the weapon.】
Dream giants?
Where were they?
Olivia took two steps back, retreating into the range of Daylight Cathedral.
But after a moment’s thought, she felt it was inappropriate and stepped back out.
Inside the range of Daylight Cathedral, King's Domain lost its effect, which conversely prevented her from contacting the clergy in other locations.
After stepping back out, Olivia began to ask the magic mirror in her heart where the dream giants had appeared. The answer was obvious.
Dream giants had appeared in many places.
There was even one on Triumphant Street!
Olivia walked a few steps further out and turned her head. Only then did she see a phantom-like figure, three stories tall, walking unhurriedly down the vast street.
The dream giant had no discernible gender or age. It was merely a human-like silhouette without even facial features, appearing as if it were constructed from violet-blue points of starlight.
Its massive body illuminated the street as it approached.
Ignoring the dream giant in front of her for the moment, Olivia held King's Domain and began to contact the others.
...
On Gareth’s side, the battle had already ended.
With the advantage of foreknowledge, winning the battle was a matter of course. Although the Transcedents from Dreamland Paradise were troublesome, they still fell one by one into pools of blood.
Of course, not everyone was killed on the spot.
Those who saw things going poorly chose to retreat into Dreamland Paradise with their true forms.
"Stay on guard here. These Dreamwalkers cannot stay in Paradise for long. They will be ejected by the space eventually; it is only a matter of time," Gareth told the clergy who followed him.
However, just as he finished giving his orders, a familiar voice reached him.
It was Olivia’s voice.
"Priest Gareth, dream giants are invading reality. There is a dream giant on the street where you are. Please take your men out immediately to deal with it, lest it cause harm to civilians."
Dream giants?
With Gareth’s knowledge, he naturally knew what a dream giant was, and his expression tightened instantly.
At the same time, his expression turned somewhat subtle. He didn't know where Olivia’s voice was coming from. He clearly hadn't sensed her nearby, yet her voice sounded as if it were right next to his ear.
Despite being just a deaconess, she was becoming more and more incomprehensible to him.
"Let's go."
Regardless, Gareth led the clergy around him and quickly retreated from the house they were in.
Just as they left the building, he saw a massive figure not far down the street, walking leisurely. It made no sound, yet it carried an undeniable sense of pressure.
This was a dream giant!
Gareth certainly knew why the dream giants existed. This was surely Dreamland Paradise’s counterattack. They had likely noticed the people who were forced to enter Paradise with their true forms and guessed that church personnel were definitely lying in wait outside. Therefore, they had to let the dream giants invade reality to force the church personnel to leave, buying their own people a chance to breathe.
This wasn't a hidden scheme, because even if Gareth accounted for this, he still had to deal with the dream giant first.
He saw that the dream giant in the distance had already reached out toward a nearby house. It was about to attack civilians!
"What a dream giant, and what a Dreamland Paradise. We used to classify you as a normal Transcedent organization. It seems our church was too merciful. You deserve to be labeled as evil."
Gareth’s expression was cold as he led his men to charge toward the dream giant.
