Five people walked out—four men and one woman.
The leader was a middle-aged man with a kind smile on his face, but deep in his eyes, a flicker of hard-to-detect surprise was hidden.
He had vaguely heard some movement next door but wasn't entirely certain.
The situation next door was critical to him. He had intended to go and check it personally, but then he noticed Olivia’s arrival and had no choice but to deal with her first.
He knew that the church would be sending someone to investigate the Blue Rose recently, so he didn't dare be negligent.
"Are you Mr. Derrick Wolf?" Olivia walked up with a smile.
"That's me." The middle-aged man leading the group also smiled.
"I am Olivia Melianne from the church. You should know why I'm here, right?"
"Of course, I know."
"Good, then. It seems you're prepared for interrogation, so let’s not waste time."
The moment the words left Olivia’s mouth, she struck.
Cross Grace, which had only recently returned to her necklace, appeared in her hand in the blink of an eye. She swung it forward with a violent sweep.
Derrick was momentary stunned as he watched the sword-like cross slash toward him.
Why did she suddenly attack?
Why start the fight without a word?
...
Mirabelle quickly gathered a group of constables and hurried toward the Blue Rose’s location.
"Move faster," she said, looking back at the constables with a hint of impatience.
In her memory of her own kingdom, constables served a certain purpose. Why did the quality of the constables here in the imperial capital, Kaliron, seem so subpar?
Was it because the radiance of the church was too intense, preventing capable people from fulfilling their roles, leading to a situation where only the incompetent remained over time?
Speaking of which, during the incident caused by the Twilight Council, the constables had been like ghosts—hardly playing any role at all.
'Forget it, I shouldn't expect too much. It's enough if they can handle matters between ordinary people.'
Mirabelle sighed inwardly.
She moved very quickly and, before long, led the group of constables back to where the carriage had stopped.
There, Bethany had already led a group of gaunt, pale-faced people out of the house next door. Mirabelle immediately had the constables take charge of and arrange for these civilians.
As for herself, she rushed toward the other house. In case a conflict arose between Olivia and the members of the Black and White Brotherhood, she felt she could at least offer some help.
'I’m no ordinary Pilgrim, after all.'
Mirabelle thought to herself.
She quickly reached the neighboring courtyard, but once she arrived, her feet felt as if they were stuck to the ground by magnets, unable to move another inch.
The scene before her left her completely stunned.
In the courtyard, bodies lay strewn all over the ground. Only one person was standing.
That person was, of course, Olivia, looking as relaxed as could be.
Seeing Mirabelle arrive, Olivia gave a wave. "You're just in time. These guys are indeed from the Black and White Brotherhood. Arrest them all and take them back to the cathedral."
"You dealt with all of them?" Mirabelle couldn't help but ask.
"Of course."
"You only recently became a Sensate, didn't you? You actually defeated this many people? And in such a short amount of time?"
Mirabelle was shocked.
Regarding the Twilight Council incident, Olivia's performance had been deliberately hidden by the church, so even Mirabelle didn't know Olivia's exact combat capabilities.
Olivia smiled slightly. "It's not that strange to be able to do this, is it? After all, I’m no ordinary Sensate."
Mirabelle was left speechless.
Regardless, a situation she had expected to be difficult to handle had been resolved with ease by Olivia.
In truth, Olivia herself was feeling a bit reflective.
Her reflection centered on the magic mirror itself.
Without the magic mirror, she had to admit it would have been difficult to detect the problem with the Black and White Brotherhood on her own. But with the mirror's help, a situation that seemed difficult to deal with was resolved in this extremely simple manner.
The transcendents of the Black and White Brotherhood were almost all here. Once these guys were dealt with, the rest of the organization would naturally no longer be an issue.
After all, these people were the clues themselves.
She probably wouldn't be responsible for the follow-up matters. After turning them over to the church, the church would naturally arrange for more suitable people to handle it.
As a Sensate, she needed to focus on transcendent events with a certain level of difficulty.
...
At the same time.
In a place that hadn't been noticed for a while, two hazy figures emerged.
The figure on the left looked toward the nearby Paradise, gazing at the imaginative amusement rides, thoughts unknown.
Paradise remained as it was, though during the day, no visitors came here.
The other figure chuckled softly. "Sweet Dream, if you have something to say, just say it. You called me here but won't speak. Do you have something on your mind that's hard to voice?"
Hearing the voice, the figure called Sweet Dream said, "Nightmare, you should have come to Kaliron a long time ago."
Nightmare scoffed. "Tsk, I just got here and you already summoned me. If I had come any earlier, wouldn't you have treated me like some tool to be used at your whim? I’m a free bird; don't always think about ordering others around like those plantation owners. It's quite annoying."
Sweet Dream's tone remained unchanged as she spoke in a mature female voice, "This is serious business."
"Then speak plainly and clearly," Nightmare said nonchalantly.
She was also a female, her voice carrying a sense of youthfulness and a cynical, carefree attitude toward everything.
Sweet Dream said with a heavy tone, "The prey had already entered the net, and Paradise was locking onto them. With just a bit more time, the prey's location could have been confirmed. But lately, the prey hasn't returned at all. This is very unusual."
Nightmare mocked, "I thought it was some great puzzle. Can't you just investigate who hasn't been to Paradise recently?"
Sweet Dream replied, "I understand that, and I've already had people investigate. But the results show that all guests have visited Paradise. There's no sign of anyone who hasn't shown up for several days."
Nightmare’s brow instantly furrowed.
