The Arch-Witches currently guarding the outside of Pangu Hall were Xingtian and Kuafu.
If Xuanjian remembered correctly, these two Arch-Witches belonged to the faction of Ancestral Witch Houtu.
Their combat strength was anything but ordinary.
Especially Xingtian!
Born accompanied by the Law of the Great Dao of Battle, he grew stronger the longer he fought and never tired. His overwhelming battle intent could even impose a severe psychological suppression on his opponents, making him truly terrifying!
Although Xingtian's baseline strength was only at the Great Perfection Taiyi Golden Immortal level, if he truly went all out, taking on an early-stage Daluo Golden Immortal cultivator would be child's play for him.
It could be said that Xingtian possessed the greatest potential among all Arch-Witches.
Kuafu was no slouch either.
At this moment, Kuafu stood like a vast divine mountain before Pangu Hall, resting with his eyes closed.
Xingtian held a battle-axe in one hand and a giant shield in the other, projecting an imposing air as he paced back and forth in front of Pangu Hall. His fierce, tiger-like eyes were full of pressure, yet also conveyed a sharp intelligence.
Xuanjian materialized before the two Arch-Witches.
The moment he appeared, Xingtian's sharp, intelligent gaze locked onto him.
Recognizing him, Xingtian smiled and said, “So it is Ancestral Witch Xuanjian.”
“Ancestral Witch?”
Xuanjian was taken aback by the title and asked, “When did I become an Ancestral Witch?”
Kuafu chuckled and explained, “Ancestral Witch Xuanjian may not know, but before the Twelve Ancestral Witches went into seclusion, they specifically instructed that your status in the Wu tribe is equal to theirs. You are brothers and sisters with them, with no distinction between you. Thus, if you are not an Ancestral Witch, who else could be?”
Xuanjian came to an understanding, though he felt the explanation was a bit forced.
However, considering the Wu tribe's unique way of thinking, he quickly let it go.
“Fair enough.”
Floating up until he was at eye level with Kuafu and Xingtian, Xuanjian said, “I need your help with something.”
“Hahaha!” Xingtian's laughter boomed like rolling thunder. “Ancestral Witch Xuanjian, give the word! Xingtian will go through fire and water for you!”
Xuanjian chuckled and shook his head. “There's no need for all that. I...”
Xuanjian briefly explained what he needed.
Upon hearing his explanation, Xingtian and Kuafu immediately lost interest.
“So it's just searching the mountain for spiritual treasures,” Xingtian muttered. “I thought we were going to settle scores with an enemy.”
Kuafu said, “Ancestral Witch Xuanjian, I have already notified Third Sister Jiufeng to come over. Xingtian and I have important duties to attend to and cannot leave our posts, so we will let Third Sister Jiufeng accompany you to search the mountain.”
He and Xingtian still needed to guard Pangu Hall after all.
Indeed, they could not walk away.
“Very well.”
Xuanjian naturally agreed to this arrangement.
Jiufeng.
Xuanjian knew a bit about this Arch-Witch as well.
Rumor had it that she was the younger full blood sister of Qiangliang, the Ancestral Witch of Thunder.
The kind of sister born from the exact same blood egg.
However, because Qiangliang had absorbed too much of Pangu's essence blood, Jiufeng suffered from innate deficiency at birth, making her unable to join the ranks of the Ancestral Witches.
Yet among the Arch-Witches, Jiufeng was indisputably number one.
If Xingtian could only match an early-stage Daluo Golden Immortal after entering his "stronger as he fights" state, then Jiufeng was someone who could truly suppress and beat down an early-stage Daluo Golden Immortal.
She was remarkably formidable.
In terms of ferocity, she easily ranked among the top three females in the entire Wu tribe.
At the same time, she was one of only two beings in the Wu tribe who possessed a Primordial Spirit.
However, just like Houtu's, Jiufeng's Primordial Spirit was pitifully small.
The only reason Jiufeng was able to form a Primordial Spirit was that Qiangliang had absorbed most of the Innate Fiend Celestial Qi and Earthly Turbid Qi.
When Jiufeng was born, she had been tainted very lightly by these two energies, which allowed her Primordial Spirit to coalesce.
Before long...
Jiufeng arrived.
She shattered through space itself, appearing directly in front of Xuanjian.
“Ancestral Witch Xuanjian,” Jiufeng greeted with a bow.
Jiufeng had heard a fair bit about Xuanjian from her brother.
This was a mighty expert who, through his own power alone, had fought Ancestral Witch Gonggong and Ancestral Witch Zhurong to a draw!
Furthermore, he had completed the sixth revolution of the Nine Revolutions Mysterious Art for their Wu tribe.
Whether out of respect for a power or gratitude for completing the cultivation technique, Jiufeng treated Xuanjian with immense respect.
“Fellow Daoist is too polite,” Xuanjian replied with a warm smile.
Jiufeng stood straight.
She stood tall and gracefully poised, lacking the delicate softness of ordinary women and instead exuding the fierce, wild aura of the Wu tribe. Her dark red dress trailed along the ground, its hem embroidered with subtle patterns of crimson phoenix feathers that flared like surging fire when she moved and resembled bitter frost when she stood still.
Her face was stunningly beautiful yet icy cold. Her deep phoenix eyes tilted slightly upward at the corners, radiating an intimidating majesty with just a single glance.
Her jet-black hair was tied high like a cascading waterfall, held in place only by a red-gold nine-phoenix hairpin. A few stray strands fell along her cheeks, adding a touch of distant chill to her appearance. Her skin was a warm wheat tone, her lips slightly pale, and her entire body was enveloped in faint wisps of thunderous flames and frigid mist. Imbued with the imposing majesty of a supreme Arch-Witch, she was undeniably a beauty, yet one that inspired awe and fear, keeping others from daring to approach.
“I presume Fellow Daoist already knows what we need to do next.”
Jiufeng nodded. “I have already assembled the members of my tribe. We can enter the mountain to search at any time.”
“Excellent.”
“Let us depart.”
Jiufeng said, “Please stand on my shoulder, Ancestral Witch Xuanjian. I will carry you there.”
Whether they were Ancestral Witches or Arch-Witches, regardless of how they presented themselves, the one unchanging aspect was their colossal size.
Standing tall, each of them reached tens of thousands of zhang in height.
And that was not even their true limit.
It was merely their most ordinary appearance.
Xuanjian glanced at Jiufeng's shoulder. “Wouldn't that be a bit inappropriate?”
Standing on her shoulder, a slight glance downward would give him a rather... scenic view.
Jiufeng tilted her head in confusion. “What could be inappropriate about it?”
“Ahem.”
Xuanjian coughed dryly twice, then stepped forward and landed upon Jiufeng's shoulder.
“Keep a good watch over Pangu Hall,” Jiufeng instructed Xingtian and Kuafu, then tore through space with her bare hands and departed.
In just a few breaths...
Jiufeng arrived at the Jiufeng tribe with Xuanjian.
Outside the Jiufeng tribe...
A million Wu tribesmen had already assembled.
“Ancestral Witch Xuanjian, which direction should we head toward?” Jiufeng asked Xuanjian.
After sensing carefully for a moment, Xuanjian pointed in a direction and said, “Over there!”
Karmic connections were wondrous and profound beyond measure.
All things between heaven and earth were intertwined with threads of karma, connecting one another.
Xuanjian relied on this very karmic sense to guide them.
With Xuanjian pointing the way...
Jiufeng took the lead, heading into the mountain alongside the million Wu warriors.
In the lower reaches of Mount Zhou, Pangu's pressure was virtually nonexistent, allowing the million Wu tribesmen to travel unhindered.
Xuanjian continuously adjusted their course.
Eventually, they stopped near the middle reaches of Mount Zhou.
The karmic connection indicated that the target was within this area.
Jiufeng immediately ordered the million Wu tribesmen to spread out and search.
Before long, a group of Wu warriors discovered a concealed Innate Grand Array.
“Break for me!”
Jiufeng roared as thunder and fire surged violently around her fist. Divine chains of thunder and fire laws cascaded down from the void, wrapping around her fist to amplify her strength!
Boom!
Jiufeng threw a single punch.
The space in front of her shattered like a mirror, yielding a chaotic web of cracks.
In the next instant...
Space collapsed.
The Innate Grand Array shattered into pieces, revealing the scenery hidden within.
Jiufeng withdrew her fist, breathing slightly heavily.
Even with her power, shattering an Innate Grand Array took a toll on her.
Fortunately, she didn't fail.
She had destroyed it with a single strike.
“Ancestral Witch Xuanjian, is this the place?”
Xuanjian stepped inside.
A short moment later, he walked back out with a brilliant smile. “This is indeed the place. I have obtained the item. My thanks to you, Arch-Witch Jiufeng.”
Jiufeng replied, “Ancestral Witch Xuanjian is too polite.”
...
Returning to his temporary cave dwelling near Pangu Hall, Xuanjian eagerly brought out the item!
It was a gleaming golden basin.
