To the east lies the coastline, where the long shore represents maritime trade and a populace that can live a stable life simply by fishing.
Brilliant City is not located in the center of the Kingdom of the Moon, but rather toward the north.
A large portion of the Holy Mountains is also included within the territory of the Kingdom of the Moon.
To the south are vast plains with complex river systems and abundant water sources that maintain a steady flow year-round, making it an ideal region for large-scale agriculture.
To the northeast lies a vast forest rich in game and medicinal herbs, though monsters frequently appear there, usually requiring a strong team to venture inside. On the far side of that forest, along the northeastern coastline, are the islands of the demon race.
The west is hilly and borders the territory of the Holy See, with a developed commercial sector and the primary mining areas located in that direction.
To the southeast is the Kingdom of the Sun. Speaking of the Eight Nations of the Holy Church, the only one that possesses islands and uses them as its primary territory is the Kingdom of the Sun.
A portion of the Kingdom of the Sun's territory is on the mainland, but the majority is at sea. The area of its main island is nearly the size of Australia, with rich seafood resources and highly developed maritime transport.
As for the north, once you cross the Holy Mountains, you enter the territory of the Snow Country. The Snow Country is covered in snow year-round, has a developed mining industry, and primarily borders the Beastmen Kingdom.
It seems this world is not distributed like a normal planet.
The most peculiar thing is that while the Snow Country is covered in snow year-round, the Beastmen Kingdom is a subtropical country.
The Snow Country is like a strange place sandwiched between two subtropical regions; it is not at the poles, yet it is exceptionally cold.
"It is a good place... as long as it is developed properly, Brilliant City will live up to its name."
The broad strategic direction remains unchanged for now, primarily focusing on building bridges and repairing roads.
As for which direction to build first and which parts to prioritize, the details still need to be discussed slowly.
Looking at the current situation... the best direction is toward the Kingdom of the Sun in the southeast. If this road can be built well to accelerate commercial exchange with the Kingdom of the Sun, the Kingdom of the Moon's specialties could be more easily transported to southern regions through their developed maritime industry.
It is now basically certain that the Pope does not dare to openly invade the Kingdom of the Moon. Having this assurance makes me feel much more at ease.
As long as I am not snatched away or killed by the demon race, the Kingdom of the Moon is safe.
The Saintesses of the other six nations would not allow the Holy See to seize it by force.
I picked up the contract signed by the dwarf Anton and Victor, the president of the Mage Guild, with Lola and looked through it carefully.
After confirming there were no issues with the contract, I continued to browse the records of the nuns and officials.
I flipped through page after page of information, gaining a deeper understanding of this unfamiliar world, which gradually began to fascinate me.
A brand-new worldview slowly emerged in my mind.
The living standards of the people and the special common knowledge of this world were all present in these records, influencing the lives of the people mentioned within them.
For instance, the file in my hand recorded an official who came from a humble background.

From these details, it could be seen that the entirety of Brilliant City was divided into East, West, South, and North sectors. Each sector contained over a dozen Ten-Thousand Household Districts, and each Ten-Thousand Household District contained over a dozen Thousand-Household Districts.
This indicated that the population within Brilliant City alone was approaching one million. Including the surrounding small villages, the total population was more than enough to reach a million.
This is a city with infinite potential. At least in my memory of Chinese history, there were very few large cities with such a massive population base.
An income of twenty gold coins was equivalent to the purchasing power of two hundred thousand RMB, which was quite a significant income for a family of five.
Furthermore, this was only the official amount. If this person had no corruption whatsoever, twenty gold coins would be enough for a family of five's expenses.
But if he engaged in even a tiny bit of corruption, his income could at least double.
However, it seemed the bureaucracy of this city was not very rigorous.
All political matters were concentrated on one person, the Chief Executive.
All judicial matters also ultimately converged on one person, the Chief Judicial Officer.
Meanwhile, the military power of Brilliant City rested with the knights and the Saintess.
This could be considered a degree of separation between politics, law, and the military.
However, the concentration of power was far too high.
"Given the situation, this is the perfect time for me to implement a separation of powers."
But how to divide it was a difficult point.
Currently, the available options were the Three Lords and Nine Ministers system or the Three Departments and Six Ministries system.
These were the only two I could draw reference from.
After all, I didn't graduate as a history major, so I didn't know much about other historical systems.
The problem was that there were too few people available to use.
Moreover, a direct, overt reform might trigger a backlash from the nobility.
The only way was to establish something like the Cabinet of the Ming Dynasty or the Grand Council of the Qing Dynasty.
I would issue decrees directly and let the selected individuals perform their respective duties, thereby delegating power.
"The current demon invasion should be my best opportunity. Once the situation stabilizes, it will be even harder to try and make changes."
I stepped down from the bed, holding several files in my hand.
The people listed here were those I had selected. Their work wasn't particularly outstanding, but they were the diligent type.
Those who were too prominent... wouldn't work, as they likely had ties to influential nobles.
Those who were too poor wouldn't work either, as they lacked the ability to hold a position.
Those with large family ties were unsuitable because they were hard to control and might instead control me.
Those with no family ties at all wouldn't work either, as they would cause a backlash from the nobility.
Therefore, even though there were over a hundred officials of various sizes in Brilliant City, I only managed to select these few.
Currently, the work Lola performed was essentially that of a Grand Secretary of the Cabinet, but if I handed everything to her regardless of how small it was, I was afraid she would be worked to death before the country even stabilized.
"Nara."
"Here, Your Highness."
