"Perform the Healing Art on Sir Cain immediately!"
She didn't need them to handle the critical parts; her own mana was enough to repair the fatal wounds.
The dozen or so nuns clasped their hands before their chests, tilted their heads back, and closed their eyes in prayer.
"O God... please grant us divine power to heal this poor soul! Healing Art!"
'Do they need to chant to use ordinary skills?'
Luo Li looked at the nuns in surprise. When she used ordinary skills, she only needed to say the name of the skill to greatly increase its effect, without any need for chanting at all.
Yet these nuns only spoke the skill's name after finishing an incantation.
Clearly, this chanting was a necessity for them.
Following the soft murmurs of the nuns, a dozen silver lights surged from their bodies and landed on Cain.
Cain had already regained consciousness, and seeing the Saintess before him, he understood where he was.
He was extremely cooperative, making sure not to disturb the Saintess during his treatment.
As the light of the Healing Art enveloped him, a faint warmth dispersed the cold and pain, adding another spark of vitality to his chest.
Luo Li quickly cast Heal again, observing the flow of the other nuns' skills through the path of her own magic.
As expected... the skills of these nuns simply increased the body's natural healing ability and transferred a small amount of energy to revitalize cells for rapid repair.
It was a completely different thing from her own Healing Art!
The next part to be repaired was the abdominal cavity. As Luo Li's Healing Art took effect, the spells released by the nuns seemed to find their leader, rapidly swirling around her magic as if they had gained a powerful buff, their activity increasing significantly.
'Does my Healing Art also have the ability to guide and enhance other ordinary healing arts?'
This was another major discovery.
However, that wasn't the priority right now.
Luo Li kept this discovery to herself and continued to focus entirely on treating Cain.
Wherever Luo Li's hands passed, almost all the body's cells were activated, beginning to rapidly repair the damage. The most severely injured areas were completely restored by her special Healing Art.
Luo Li didn't withdraw her hands until there were no wounds left on Cain's body. To save him, she had exhausted all her current mana, and a wave of intense weakness washed over her.
'Could it be... that mana and vitality are also linked?'
She looked down at Cain's face.
Though he was still deathly pale, he was no longer in mortal danger.
"Thank you, Your Highness..."
Cain's lips were dry and cracked, but there was a flicker of spirit in his eyes. His voice lacked strength, yet he was no longer so fragile.
"There is no need to thank me; it is what I should do. If anything, I am the one who should say thank you... Thank you, and all of you, for risking everything to protect me and Brilliant City."
Luo Li's gaze swept across the silver-armored knights, each one covered in the grime of battle.
They lowered their heads one after another, their right hands pressed firmly against their chests as they paid their highest respects to Luo Li.
With a Saintess who could stand in their shoes and care for them so deeply, what did it matter if they died on the battlefield and were wrapped in horsehide for burial?
"Your Highness need not be so humble. This is merely the duty of us Temple knights, cough... cough..."
Seeing the Saintess actually lowering her head to them, Cain was struck with immense shock!
He hurriedly tried to push himself up to support Luo Li.
But the movement strained his weakened body, causing him to cough up a small amount of bloody foam again.
"Sir Cain is in no condition to return to the battlefield. The rest of you, escort him back to rest."
Luo Li stood up. The knights watched as her bare, delicate feet, now covered in dust, and her knees, which had reddened with blood from the cold stone floor, came into view.
The knights' eyes began to moisten.
Sir Cain was shocked beyond words!
"Your Highness, how could you allow yourself to be injured for my sake?!"
Struggling, Cain tried to stand up again.
"I can still, cough cough..."
"Sir Cain... this is my command. Will you refuse to obey even an order from me, your Saintess?"
Luo Li's gaze held a hint of pleading, causing the hearts of Cain and every knight present to tremble!
"Your... Your Highness, we..."
Who could have imagined that the high and mighty Saintess would use such a gaze and tone to beg them not to return to the dangerous battlefield?
Luo Li's soft, sweet voice crashed into their hearts like a flood, yet felt like a gentle spring breeze brushing against their souls.
"We wouldn't dare... Thank you for your mercy, Your Highness!"
Cain's eyes were already red. He didn't dare look up, only crouching low with his head down, trying to hide the hot tears welling in his eyes.
His voice carried a slight sob.
How lucky they were... to receive such care from the Holy Maiden!
"Your Highness, Lord Cain is severely injured and unfit for battle, but we can still fight!!"
At that moment, the knight who had been ordered by Luo Li to cut open Cain's armor looked at the Saintess with reddened eyes.
A soldier dies for the one who recognizes his worth!
As a knight, being the object of such concern from the Saintess was his highest honor!
"Very well, I will not force you. But Sir Cain... you must go back and rest. That is my order. As for the rest of you."
Luo Li looked at the dozen or so red-eyed men and nodded slightly.
"I permit you to return to the battlefield. I hope you will bring glory to Brilliant City!"
"Please rest assured, Your Highness! Honor is my life! We fight for glory! We fight for Your Highness!"
Luo Li nodded, watching as the dozen silver-armored knights remounted their steeds and escorted Sir Cain away.
She stood there until the figures of the knights disappeared at the end of the street, then turned to look at the nuns behind her.
"None of the nuns are to remain at the Temple. All of you, head to the West City immediately to treat the affected civilians and wounded soldiers."
"We accept the Divine Oracle."
The words of the Saintess were equivalent to the words of God in Brilliant City and the Kingdom of the Moon. To those of the Holy Church, her words were the supreme command.
During the demon army's first assault, they had indeed broken into the interior of the West City. Many civilians who couldn't evacuate in time and the soldiers who resisted were either dead or injured.
She had originally wanted to take a hot bath and get some rest, but it seemed she couldn't enjoy that luxury just yet. She needed to check on the people affected in the West City.
"I will be heading there shortly as well."
