A massive pillar of light swept across the battlefield with unstoppable momentum, threatening to melt everything in its path.
The war-flame troll bore the brunt of it, raising its massive flaming battle-axe to whip up a violent wind of fire as it charged head-on into the light.
The collision was incredibly intense, causing the air temperature to skyrocket as the war-flame troll's bright red muscles bulged with immense power.
However, under that terrifying heat, its skin and its axe were gradually turning into boiling steam.
It could not stop Gexi's True Life-Devouring Flame at all.
Duoze, still in the air, also erupted with his saint-rank power.
Together, the man and the demon combined their strength just to barely hold back the thick pillar of light.
A sharp glint flashed in Gexi's eyes as she pushed her crystal ball to its maximum capacity, further strengthening the power of the True Life-Devouring Flame.
The war-flame troll threw its head back and roared, but its cry was quickly drowned out by the light.
"Damn it, this woman's power is too great!"
Duoze gritted his teeth, his expression turning ugly to the extreme.
Even though he was giving it his all, he could hardly resist the terrifying pillar of light.
He could only watch as his war-flame troll was consumed by the light and heat, while the pillar continued toward him with undiminished force.
With the frost-crystal soldier no longer pinning Gexi down, the balance of the battlefield had been broken.
This was an outcome Duoze had expected, but what he had not anticipated was that Gexi's full strength would exceed his projections.
He and the war-flame troll had barely lasted any time at all before being easily crushed by an enraged Gexi.
Even though they were both saint-rank archmages, the gap between them was immense!
His gaze shifted toward the frost-crystal soldier.
The blade of the frost-crystal soldier struck Grinya with precision, sending blood splattering as her body traced a beautiful arc through the air.
A look of pure joy appeared on Duoze's face.
"Nice! Beautiful!" he roared excitedly.
Seeing that his plan had succeeded, he no longer lingered on the battlefield.
He withdrew all his erupting mana and, completely ignoring the terrifying pillar of light, turned to fly away through the air.
"Don't you dare run!" Gexi waved her arm, and the blazing pillar of light actually changed direction, rising upward to pursue him relentlessly.
Duoze looked back, nearly jumping out of his skin in fright.
"What the hell? Does this attack last forever?"
With just one glance, he knew his speed could never outpace the rate at which the light pillar was shifting.
Her performance had far exceeded his impression of a saint-rank archmage.
Duoze even suspected that the strength of this incredibly young saint-rank archmage was not below that of the heaven-rank!
He could only do his best to shift his body sideways to dodge.
But the pillar of light still grazed his shoulder, engulfing his entire arm.
The scorching heat made him scream in agony.
However, the True Life-Devouring Flame ultimately failed to eliminate him completely, only consuming one of his arms.
Looking at his now empty right shoulder, Duoze was in excruciating pain, but he did not dare to stay and fight any longer.
He cast a hateful glance at Gexi, as if trying to etch her face into his memory forever.
Gexi stared back at him with equal resentment and frustration.
She could have pursued him.
In terms of speed, she was not weaker than Duoze, and hunting him down would not have been difficult.
But she had no heart to continue the fight with him.
Leaving one last look of lingering anger, she quickly turned toward Grinya's direction.
She was sick with worry about Grinya's condition.
On the other side of the battlefield, the frost-crystal soldier had vanished into dimensional space immediately after its successful strike.
Meanwhile, the shadow lizard had been caught by the frost-crystal soldier's blade, its body sliced in half at the waist in a miserable state.
Gexi's heart tightened at the sight, her face turning pale.
Seeing Grinya lying in a pool of blood, she rushed forward in agonizing pain.
Grinya had two extremely deep wounds on her abdomen, her internal organs and bones having been mangled together.
She looked as though she had already lost all signs of life.
"Grinya! Grinya!"
Gexi screamed with all her might.
At the same time, she gently channeled her mana into Grinya's hideous wounds, trying to slowly repair the trauma.
But it was already meaningless.
Grinya's body had gone completely cold.
It was fortunate enough that the fatal strike had not torn her body apart entirely, but there was no hope of survival in such a state.
Gexi realized the truth and froze in place, speechless, as tears of guilt fell uncontrollably.
"I'm sorry. This is all my fault."
She leaned over Grinya's body, sobbing quietly.
"I shouldn't have brought you to such a dangerous place. I'm sorry, it's all my fault..."
"I failed to protect you..."
Intense guilt and a sense of failure occupied all of Gexi's emotions, her grief flowing like an endless river.
Just as she was crying with tears and snot running down her face, a cold, soft hand suddenly covered her face.
Then she felt a great force as she was violently pushed away, landing hard on her backside.
Gexi was stunned.
She watched blankly as the person who had just "returned from the dead" reopened her eyes.
They were cold and heartless, yet hidden within them was a deep, profound rage.
A chill ran down Gexi's spine as a cold sweat broke out.
She stared at Grinya as if she were seeing a ghost.
Her worldview collapsed at this moment.
Someone who was as dead as could be had actually "revived" right under her nose!
What was going on?
She didn't dare make a sound, only watching Grinya in silence.
She hoped this was all just a hallucination.
However, reality proved otherwise as she saw the aura of the person before her suddenly change completely.
It was sharp, cold, and full of resentment.
It was like the wrath of a god!
At this moment, even the world itself seemed to tremble.
"Damn it!"
The beautiful girl gritted her teeth, her resentful voice leaking through the gaps.
In a tone of absolute hatred, she spoke word by word.
"Which bastard was it just now..."
"That killed me!!!"
Her angry voice echoed between heaven and earth.
Faced with her fury, the world did not dare to respond, as if it were afraid.
Gexi remained prostrated on the ground, long since consumed by terror.
This wasn't right.
This definitely wasn't right!
Why did it feel as if Grinya had been possessed...?
