While Chen Xu was in the midst of his grand renovation of the Land of the Undead, the front lines of the war between the undead and the demons were also heating up.
The blood sacrifice for Kunpeng and Sindragosa’s Dao artifacts was nearing its conclusion.
On Kunpeng’s side, he used water to form a prison, turning that world into a closed coliseum.
On one side of the coliseum stood six Hell Archdukes.
Judging solely by their aura, these six Hell Archdukes were significantly more powerful than the ones they had encountered in the Saint Wings Great World.
One fire demon, composed entirely of fire elements, possessed an especially ferocious aura that stood a cut above the other Hell Archdukes.
The Mother of Hell had been extremely displeased after losing four Hell Archdukes to Kunpeng in their last encounter, so Hell had come prepared this time.
Unfortunately, the Kunpeng of today was no longer the Kunpeng of yesterday. His growth rate was so explosive it was as if he had activated a cheat code, rivaling even Chen Xu’s own progression.
As the water prison rose, the phantom of the First Bone Kun emerged alongside the phantom of the Golden-Winged Great Roc King. As soon as the two phantoms appeared, the Hell Archdukes each produced a piece of equipment, clearly ready for the encounter.
However, to the archdukes' surprise, the Echoes of Ancestors did not stop there. As the water providence spread and flooded the world, a dragon’s roar echoed through the crashing waves.
A true dragon soared out of the water and circled in the sky, its eyes majestic and its aura ancient and mysterious.
Five dragon balls floated around one of its claws, corresponding to the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.
The appearance of this true dragon caused the Hell Archdukes to turn pale. They exchanged solemn glances, their expressions heavy with concern.
Yet the Echoes of Ancestors continued. The once bright sky suddenly plunged into darkness.
The six Hell Archdukes and the three ancestral phantoms all tilted their heads back, looking upward.
For eternal-tier powerhouses, vision wasn't strictly necessary, but within this sudden darkness hid a power of deathly silence that made their souls tremble.
Within everyone's perception, an ancient, extinguished star floated in the sky, continuously emitting waves of Extinction Radiation powerful enough to kill an ordinary mythic-tier being.
The First Bone Kun, the Golden-Winged Great Roc King, the Five Elements Dragon King, and the Dead Star surrounded Kunpeng, staring down the six Hell Archdukes.
What followed was a brutal, inhumane slaughter.
After a long time, the water prison collapsed. Without its restraint, a massive amount of world fragments drifted out, floating through the Cosmic Sea. No one knew which world they would eventually land in to create another dungeon era.
Kunpeng, his face twisted in a ferocious grin, let out a series of maniacal laughs.
“Jie! Jie! Jie!”
Kunpeng manipulated Bone Ingenuity, transforming it into a juicer. He had seen such a thing back on Blue Star; the merfolk priests often used juicers to make fruit juice for him.
Kunpeng tossed the corpses and souls of the six Hell Archdukes into the Ingenuity Juicer. With a flap of his tail, he hit the switch.
Whirrr!
A massive roar sounded as everything belonging to the Hell Archdukes was ground into powder within the juicer and then absorbed by Bone Ingenuity.
Bone Ingenuity grew stronger as the number of Hell Archdukes dwindled. The roar of the machine, combined with Kunpeng’s eerie laughter, composed a beautiful symphony.
On the other side, Sindragosa’s treatment was slightly inferior to Kunpeng’s.
Since Sindragosa’s public record was taking on three eternal-tier space pirates at once, Hell only sent three Hell Archdukes to hunt her down.
It was common knowledge that among those of the same realm, renowned sects looked down on rogue cultivators.
Hell was a top-tier renowned sect of the myriad worlds, and in their eyes, space pirates were nothing more than a bunch of rogue cultivators.
Sending three Hell Archdukes was already showing her a great deal of respect.
Consequently, the three Hell Archdukes were curb-stomped by Sindragosa and ten eternal-tier golden bone dragons.
Sindragosa drained the three archdukes of their blood and souls, sacrificing them to the Bone Dragon Ball to complete the final blood sacrifice.
As the sacrifice finished, a spark of spirituality emerged from the Bone Dragon Ball, gradually growing until it filled the entire orb.
In the next second, a young dragon with white bones and blood-red, transparent skin jumped out of the Bone Dragon Ball.
“Roar! I am Blood Bone! The great Dao artifact spirit, Blood Bone!”
Because the souls provided for the blood sacrifice were all demons and Hell Archdukes, this newly born awakened spirit appeared somewhat irascible, proud, and domineering.
But all of that vanished in an instant.
Sindragosa gripped the Bone Dragon Ball in her claw, held it to her mouth, and gently exhaled a breath of extreme cold.
The power of extreme cold made Blood Bone shiver violently, instantly bringing it to its senses.
The blood-red young dragon burst into a cloud of mist, only to re-condense at Sindragosa’s feet.
Blood Bone lay prostrate on the ground, its head pressed against Sindragosa’s foot, and said sycophantically.
“Great Final Dragon, immortal Bone Dragon God, beloved Lady Sindragosa, your most humble servant Blood Bone is willing to offer you eternal loyalty.”
Sindragosa said nothing. With a single thought, she forcefully recalled the Dao artifact spirit, Blood Bone, back into the Bone Dragon Ball.
Dao artifact spirits had their own thoughts, but just like a soul link, once the Dao artifact was refined, the spirit could not defy the master’s will.
Putting away the Bone Dragon Ball, Sindragosa opened a spatial gate and immediately returned to the Undead Dao Court. She wanted to share the good news with Chen Xu as soon as possible.
Upon returning to the Undead Dao Court, Sindragosa discovered that Chen Xu wasn't there.
Just then, an ancient voice spoke, as the Whispering Tree cleared up her confusion.
“Lady Sindragosa, are you looking for my Lord? My Lord is at the Land of the Undead. You can find him there.”
“Thank you.”
Sindragosa opened another spatial gate and arrived at the Land of the Undead.
As soon as she arrived, she heard Chen Xu’s voice raised in scolding.
Sindragosa shook her head. Those one hundred and eight Star Lords really weren't very bright; they only knew how to make the Lord angry.
Sensing Sindragosa’s aura, Chen Xu stopped his micromanagement and looked toward her.
Seeing Chen Xu looking her way, Sindragosa immediately flapped her wings and flew to his side, holding the Bone Dragon Ball in her palm to present it to him.
“My Lord, I have completed the blood sacrifice and awakened the secret treasure base, promoting it to a Dao artifact.”
After saying this, Sindragosa exerted a bit of pressure with her claw, forcing the insolent Blood Bone out of the orb.
Blood Bone spun a circle in the air, first repeating its previous flattery toward Sindragosa before prostrating itself at Chen Xu’s feet, its fawning even more intense.
“Lord of the Undead, greater than greatness itself, absolute Overlord of the myriad worlds, the utterly humble Blood Bone sends you greetings.
“I beg you, do not cast your gaze upon me. I fear Blood Bone’s insignificance cannot withstand your majesty; I would lose my mind from being unable to handle such favor.”
Chen Xu looked at the blood-red young dragon hugging his left foot, feeling somewhat speechless.
The aura of the Bone Dragon Ball had indeed undergone a transformation, and it was undoubtedly a Dao artifact.
Otherwise, judging solely by this bizarre awakened spirit, Chen Xu would have hauled Ghost Axe over to ask if it had made a mistake somewhere.
However, noticing Sindragosa’s expectant look, Chen Xu nodded and put on a satisfied expression.
“You did well.”
“Thank you for your praise, my Lord.”
Sindragosa’s tail wagged continuously, showing her excitement.
However, before her excitement could last long, a spatial gate opened nearby, emitting an aura she wasn't particularly fond of.
“Wu!”
Before the person appeared, the sound arrived first.
With a joyful cry, Kunpeng also arrived at the Land of the Undead.
“My Lord, I’ve completed the blood sacrifice! I sacrificed six eternal-tier demons at once! Am I amazing or what?!”
Hearing this, Sindragosa’s previously joyful face instantly darkened.
Under Kunpeng’s control, Bone Ingenuity continuously shifted forms, turning into a sword one moment, armor the next, and then a shield.
The transformation speed was incredibly fast, shifting through thousands of forms in a single second.
Amidst these changes, Chen Xu thought he saw the silhouettes of technological creations like firearms, planes, and tanks.
Chen Xu reached out with his index finger and tapped the light-speed-shifting Bone Ingenuity. A cloud of mist was stilled, and Bone Ingenuity stopped.
With a hook of his finger, the mist was pulled into his hand.
“Bone Ingenuity true spirit, Wanwu, greets the great Lord of the Undead.”
Hearing this, Sindragosa’s expression became even more sour.
“Everything? Does that mean you can turn into everything in the world?” Chen Xu asked curiously.
“It is the 'wu' for mist. Ingenuity has no fixed form; it moves with the will like mist—visible but intangible.”
“I see.”
Chen Xu nodded, very satisfied. This Dao artifact spirit seemed much more normal.
