Chapter 343 · Volume 1

Golden Dragons Defeated, Undead Sated

“This realm is destined for me!”
Upon hearing Chen Xu’s words, the golden dragon Gou Deng fell even deeper into despair.
He didn’t even know how to react. Should he take the initiative to beg for mercy and ask Chen Xu to spare his life?
Should he proactively swear fealty, offering to serve the Land of the Undead with total devotion?
Or should he remain unyielding until death, displaying the pride of the dragon race, and pray that this Lord of the Undead appreciated such a display and would spare him out of admiration for his courage?
Gou Deng’s thoughts were a chaotic mess, but he felt that he was likely incapable of choosing the path of resistance.
From the moment the undead invasion began, his head had remained lowered, his eyes fixed firmly on the golden ground below, terrified that he might accidentally catch a glimpse of Chen Xu’s face.
In his younger years, while traveling the myriad worlds, he had heard that Dao Lord-tier existences often had unknown eccentricities and extremely strange temperaments.
Some Dao Lords would even develop murderous intent just because a strange eternal-tier expert looked at them, personally stepping in to kill that expert and turn them into a specimen to showcase their prestige.
Gou Deng didn’t know if that story was true or false, but he had indeed seen living eternal-tier beings wailing within the territories of many Dao Lord-tier forces. That scene was not much different from being turned into a specimen.
However, Chen Xu did not pay any attention to the thoughts of this cowardly dragon. He had originally thought there would at least be a fierce battle, considering the enemy was a dragon realm of mysterious origin that had existed for a long time.
But ever since Sindragosa revealed her identity, Kunpeng devoured the clouds above, and the undead army charged into the dragon realm, this golden dragon had unexpectedly given up all resistance in an instant.
In Chen Xu’s eyes, even his old friends, the goblins, had more spine than this golden dragon. He wondered how this creature had even managed to cultivate to the eternal-tier.
Chen Xu raised his right hand, his soul connecting with the core of the Necrotic Dao Court. As his hand reached out into the air, the origin of the Necrotic Dao Court also began to invade this Golden Dragon Realm.
Chen Xu’s mental strength led the way, tearing the space of the dragon realm into small fragments, while the Necrotic Dao Court followed behind, greedily devouring the realm’s origin.
Starting from the sky of the Golden Dragon Realm and moving downward, the court consumed everything continuously.
Soon, the Golden Dragon Realm no longer had a sky. Looking up, one could only see a pitch-black, boundless Cosmic Sea.
The massive Golden Holy Dragon Egg also revealed its full upper half. Kunpeng was extremely curious, as it was rare to find a creature’s egg that was as large as himself.
Thus, Kunpeng flew above the dragon egg and carefully applied suction, pulling the egg into the sky to expose it completely.
Then, Kunpeng pressed himself against the dragon egg to compare their sizes.
“Wooo!!!”
Seeing that the dragon egg was indeed about the same size as himself, Kunpeng let out a thunderous cry of shock.
Below, the skeleton heroes, bone dragons, and bone kuns were also clicking their tongues in wonder.
“This creature is incredible. It’s as big as Lord Kunpeng before it’s even born. How terrifying will it be once it hatches?”
“Could it be some kind of starry sky behemoth egg? I’ve heard that some starry sky behemoths feed on planets. With this size, it looks like one.”
“Starry sky behemoth? Where did you hear about that?”
“Hehe, I got the information when I responded to the skeleton hero summoning ritual, of course. You have no idea—now that there are so many skeleton heroes, there are more of us than there are summoning requests.”
“It’s hard enough just to snag one request and go out to the outside world to relax a bit.”
“Holy crap, your hand speed must be amazing then. I almost snagged one last time.”
“Of course, I am...”
Before he could finish, a flash of light pulsed, and the skeleton hero disappeared from the spot.
Another skeleton hero beside him was stunned for a moment before immediately sprinting toward Bone Guard One, shouting at the top of his lungs.
“Lord Bone Guard One! I’m reporting him! I’m reporting him! A skeleton illegally accepted a summoning ritual request during wartime!”
On the other side, having finished devouring the sky, Chen Xu looked at the vast expanse of gold below and stopped his tearing actions.
Gold, even in the Age of Transcendence, was an extremely important material.
It was used in alchemy, pill refining, equipment forging, secret art cultivation, technique training, and even in the breeding of pets or plants. Gold was useful in all of them.
Because of its high consumption and low production, gold was also a universal currency for settlements across the myriad worlds, serving as a lower-tier substitute for Divine Power Crystals.
In Chen Xu’s perception, the ground of this Golden Dragon Realm was truly made entirely of gold. The sheer quantity could no longer be described as merely ‘exaggerated.’
For the sake of his golden dream, just how many worlds had Gou Deng plundered over the years to accumulate so much gold?
Could it be that those occasional evil dragons that appeared in ordinary transcendent worlds to wreak havoc all came from this Golden Dragon Realm? Otherwise, such a massive amount of gold was simply inexplicable.
However, after Gou Deng had hoarded it for so many years, it ultimately became a gift for Chen Xu.
Chen Xu first had Bone Guard One command the skeleton heroes to escort all these golden dragons back to the Necrotic Dao Court, sending them to Sindragosa’s dragon territory to bolster her forces.
The skeleton heroes began to move. Some of the more impatient ones, wanting to complete the task as quickly as possible, didn’t even wait to return to the Necrotic Dao Court; while still in the Golden Dragon Realm, they raised their blades and took the lives of the golden dragons beside them.
Gou Deng noticed this, and a chill instantly enveloped him.
He rapidly unfurled his dragon wings, erupting with a burst of blinding golden light in an attempt to flee the area.
However, no matter how he erupted or how hard he flapped his wings, he remained stuck in place, unable to move an inch.
A strange and terrifying suction force had locked onto him. No matter how much strength he used to escape, the suction force would strengthen accordingly to cancel it out.
At the same time, accompanying the suction were bursts of soul-reaping whispers. Those murmurs, like the unwilling whispers of souls before death, further stimulated the golden dragon’s already taut nerves.
Gou Deng now had only one thought: he had to escape this place, no matter what it took.
His massive dragon wings beat frantically in the air, yet he still could not break free from Kunpeng’s suction.
Kunpeng hovered in the air, watching the golden dragon below with ease, a trace of mockery in his eyes.
Suddenly, Kunpeng noticed that Sindragosa was looking at him. He hurriedly turned his head to the side, using the dragon egg to block Sindragosa’s line of sight.
Sindragosa narrowed her dragon eyes, then shifted her gaze to Gou Deng, who was still frantically flapping his wings, and instantly understood Kunpeng’s thoughts.
“Hmph.”
She unleashed a blast of extreme cold breath, directly freezing Gou Deng and the other eternal-tier golden dragons. Then, she opened a spatial gate and, with a flick of her tail, threw the ten golden dragons into the Necrotic Dao Court, sealing them beneath her dragon territory.
Once the skeleton heroes had finished clearing the area, Chen Xu’s mind flickered. His mental strength condensed into an invisible blade, which he brought crashing down onto the center of the Golden Dragon Realm, splitting it in two.
Then, the invisible blade rotated ninety degrees and struck again, cutting the Golden Dragon Realm into four roughly equal pieces.
A spatial gate leading to the Land of the Undead opened, and Chen Xu threw these four golden continents into it.
With so much gold, only the Land of the Undead, being a special world, had enough space to store it. Even his own Necrotic Dao Court could barely fit a single piece.
After the transfer was complete, he sent a message to Big Boss, asking him to help process the gold and to gather the growth resources he needed for the Heaven-Earth Spiritual Root as quickly as possible.
Immediately after, his mental strength was released without reservation, instantly churning the remaining space of the Golden Dragon Realm into fragments.
The Necrotic Dao Court began its greedy feeding once more. The space within the court expanded rapidly, and its Dao principles became increasingly rich.
After a long time, the Necrotic Dao Court finally finished its meal, letting out a satisfied burp that it directed toward Chen Xu.
This was a mass of extremely pure world origin. The Necrotic Dao Court could not absorb any more, so it spat it out and left it for Chen Xu.
Chen Xu did not absorb it directly. Instead, he preserved it, planning to save it for the creation of a Yin Lord.
World origin was equivalent to a massive amount of experience. Since he was already unique-tier, consuming it would have no effect, so it was better to save it for the undead who were still at the mythic-tier.
Chen Xu weighed the world origin in his hand; it was likely only enough for one person. He looked around and saw that only Bone Guard One was still at the mythic-tier. It was perfect—he would give it to the first great general of the skeletons.
With a wave of his hand, Chen Xu brought Bone Guard One, Kunpeng, and Sindragosa back to the Necrotic Dao Court.
“Bone Guard One!”
“My Lord.”
Chen Xu said nothing more. He directly slapped the world origin into Bone Guard One’s soul fire and used his 【Off-Duty】 talent to transfer the Exquisite Heart to him.
“Whether you can break through depends on your own destiny.”
