Chapter 315 · Volume 1

Echoes of Ancestors: One Against Four, Kunpeng Becomes Famous

The moment the two phantoms fully solidified from their ethereal states, a majestic aura surged into the sky, violently repelling the four Hell Archdukes.
Chen Xu looked up at these two Echoes of Ancestors, unable to help but marvel at Kunpeng’s luck. Even its talents were superior to those of others.
【Spacetime Echo of the Golden-Winged Great Roc King: A Golden-Winged Great Roc King from a certain world. Its overbearing kingly aura is seamlessly integrated with its being, as if crafted by nature itself—a destined overlord of a world.
It has been resonated out of the long river of time by a Bone Kun possessing a mysterious talent, seemingly linked by bloodline.
Note: Secret techniques that disturb the long river of time are considered taboos of the myriad worlds; this Bone Kun has been marked at the highest level.】
【Spacetime Echo of the First Bone Kun: The first of its kind, the proud battle pet of a former Lord of the Undead. A legendary beast that once shook the myriad worlds, an invincible combat pet.
Known as the World Eater, the Mobile Void Calamity, the Dealer Reaper, the Undefeated Legend, and the Terminator of All Things.
Like the Golden-Winged Great Roc King before it, it has been resonated out of the long river of time by a Bone Kun possessing a mysterious talent, seemingly linked by bloodline.】
A single talent had directly summoned two top-tier Eternal-tier combatants. If not for the unique-tier nature of the highest level, Chen Xu suspected that if he gave Kunpeng even more powerful bloodlines, it might even be able to summon a unique-tier being.
Even if it couldn't summon a unique-tier entity, the peak powerhouses of these races were not beings ordinary Eternal-tier creatures could hope to challenge.
Just like the difference between Hell Archdukes and Hell Demon Kings, or Angel Priests and Titled High Priests—they were all Eternal-tier, but their strength and status were worlds apart.
What was supposed to be a one-against-four battle had instantly turned into a three-against-four, and the two additions were overwhelming powerhouses. No one could have anticipated this.
The face of Greater Demon Ral had already changed. His brow was furrowed so tightly it looked as if it had been pinned in place.
Dog Demon Fal sniffed the air and discovered that the scent of fear was actually emanating from the Greater Demon beside him.
“Ral, what’s wrong? Why are you trembling? Although there’s been a slight change, we still have the advantage in numbers. It’s just two more phantoms; they’ll be gone once the Hellfire burns them.”
The Greater Demon’s fingers trembled slightly as he pointed toward the colossal entity beside Kunpeng, whose body seemed to stretch beyond the horizon.
“That... that guy is the legendary number one battle pet of the myriad worlds, an invincible Eternal-tier existence—the First Bone Kun.
“The memories in my blood tell me that this giant once broke into Hell and devoured a massive group of demons right under the nose of the Great Mother. It even permanently stole one of Hell’s volcanoes.
“And after taking a strike from the Mother’s wrath, it escaped Hell and still had the strength to fight the Demon King of Pain who pursued it.”
Hearing this, Dog Demon Fal unconsciously opened his mouth wide, eagerly asking for the conclusion.
“And then? Was it killed by the Demon King?”
“No,” Greater Demon Ral shook his head. “The Demon King gave his all and could only manage to break one of its fins, while he himself had both legs bitten off by it.”
Dog Demon Fal was in disbelief. He didn't believe such an Eternal-tier being could exist in this world.
No one knew the power of the Mother of Hell’s attacks better than they, the Hell Archdukes.
To take a blow of wrath from the Mother and still defeat a Demon King—what kind of monster was this? Were they really expected to fight such a being?
The aura of fear spread from the Greater Demon to the Dog Demon, infecting him as well.
The First Bone Kun’s eyes suddenly shifted; it had sensed this subtle change.
Years of combat experience told it that fear was the sharpest claw. Once the opponent fell into fear, no matter one’s own condition, one must pounce and take a bite.
It thought this, and it acted upon it. In an instant, the First Bone Kun erupted with an incredible speed that defied its massive size. A sonic boom rang out as the Bone Kun’s massive maw snapped shut.
Dog Demon Fal and Greater Demon Ral were swallowed into its mouth, its razor-sharp teeth instantly piercing through their bodies.
Seeing this, Stone Demon Gudun immediately charged forward. His massive stone body blazed with Hellfire as he crashed straight toward the First Bone Kun’s head, hoping to rescue his comrades.
The Bat Demon also spread his wings. Dense magical energy gathered under his armpits, instantly condensing into two dark magic orbs roughly the size of his own body. They flew toward the First Bone Kun’s eyes.
But faster than both of them was the Golden-Winged Great Roc King.
With a violent flap of its wings, it kicked up a fierce storm, forcibly blowing the charging Stone Demon toward the two magic orbs.
“Boom! Boom!”
The magic orbs exploded against the Stone Demon, erupting into two large clouds of smoke, but they failed to inflict even a scratch on the Stone Demon, who possessed extremely high magic resistance.
However, the gale did not stop. The Stone Demon was swept up uncontrollably by the wind and hurled toward the Bat Demon.
Seeing this, the Bat Demon immediately flapped his wings, preparing to dodge.
The Golden-Winged Great Roc King flapped its other wing. This time, a gale carrying the intent of Geng Gold swept from behind the Bat Demon, forcing him toward the Stone Demon.
As the twin winds converged, the two demons collided violently. Immediately after, the sharp Geng Gold intent began to frantically shred their bodies. Even the hardened Stone Demon was like tofu before it.
In a mere breath, the humanoid Stone Demon was left with only his upper half; his lower body had been ground into powder by the gale.
The Bat Demon fared even worse; the flesh was stripped from his entire body, leaving only a skeleton and a heart protected by Hellfire.
Then, the Golden-Winged Great Roc King extended its neck and let out a long cry.
“Skree!”
Three pure golden Geng Gold swords materialized. It gripped one in each talon and held the third in its beak.
A flash of golden light streaked through the air as the three Geng Gold swords sketched the image of a golden phoenix spreading its wings, surrounded by a hundred birds paying homage. It was a magnificent sight.
In the next moment, the Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix dissolved into a crisscrossing sword intent that sliced through the sky of this world. The world membrane was severed, revealing the void beyond.
“Holy crap.”
Seeing this, Chen Xu let out a cry of surprise. He hadn't expected a Golden-Winged Great Roc to practice the sword dao, let alone have such high attainment in it.
There was just one thing Chen Xu didn't quite understand—why did it draw a phoenix instead of a roc?
Unlike Chen Xu, Kunpeng was in a state of pure worship. It opened its beak wide, staring blankly at this Great Roc ancestor.
The Golden-Winged Great Roc King sheathed its longswords and glanced back at Kunpeng. Seeing its worshipful expression, the king nodded in satisfaction before turning into a mass of bubbles and dissipating.
On the other side, the Dog Demon and the Greater Demon were still struggling inside the First Bone Kun’s mouth.
The sharp, massive teeth continuously ground their bodies, causing them immense agony.
Furthermore, within this abyssal maw were countless souls that had perished there, imprisoned by the Bone Kun and turned into thralls.
They resided within the Bone Kun’s teeth. Whenever an unlucky soul was swallowed, they would emerge from the teeth to kick the newcomer while they were down, welcoming them to the fold.
Greater Demon Ral tried to transform into black mist to escape this terrifying place.
But the moment he transformed, a strange suction pulled him toward the Bone Kun’s stomach. In an instant, half of the energy in his body vanished. Forget escaping—if he maintained the black mist form for one more second, he would be sucked dry into a demon husk.
Refusing to give up, the Greater Demon directly injected his remaining life force into the Hellfire Source in his heart. In an instant, his flesh became fuel for the Hellfire.
“Ral, you!”
The Dog Demon realized the Greater Demon’s intent and cried out.
“If we don't risk our lives, are we just going to wait here to die? This is a beast that roamed the ancient era!”
Hearing the Greater Demon’s roar, the Dog Demon grit his teeth. His three heads let out a furious howl as he also injected his life force into the Hellfire Source in his heart.
Two spheres of flame blazed furiously, continuously scorching the First Bone Kun’s mouth.
The corrupting flames incinerated the surrounding souls and quickly attached to the sharp teeth, gradually spreading elsewhere.
Yet the First Bone Kun didn't even flinch, acting as if nothing had happened as it continued to chew the two demons with force.
The First Bone Kun glanced at the lingering sword intent left by the Golden-Winged Great Roc King nearby. As if remembering something, it suddenly turned its head to look at Kunpeng.
Kunpeng immediately understood the look. With a shake of its body, it transformed from a Great Roc back into a Bone Kun.
Then, the First Bone Kun spat the two spheres of fire out of its mouth. Before the two demons could react and try to flee, a beam of light filled with destructive aura shot up from below.
Following the destruction beam, the five elements took turns appearing—gold, wood, water, fire, and earth, along with lightning, extreme ice, and various different Dao rhymes, all spraying from the First Bone Kun’s mouth.
Before it could finish the demonstration for its descendant, the two demons had already succumbed, completely obliterated.
Helplessly, the First Bone Kun spat out all the contents in its body, condensing them into a small, shimmering sphere to show Kunpeng.
Kunpeng understood at a glance that this ancestor wanted to teach it that it didn't necessarily have to absorb everything it ate; it could extract their Dao rhymes and store them in its body for use in battle.
Seeing the spark of insight in Kunpeng’s eyes, the First Bone Kun nodded in satisfaction. After swallowing the shimmering sphere back into its belly, it vanished.
The Hell Archdukes had all been executed. Bone Guard One seized the opportunity and immediately commanded the skeleton heroes to charge into the demon horde, refusing to let this perfect chance go to waste.
Chen Xu raised his hand, intending to close the severed world membrane in the sky, only to find that a massive amount of Geng Gold intent was still attached to it, preventing it from mending.
Thus, Chen Xu had to transform his mental strength into several large clamps to forcibly hold the world membrane together and close it.
As for the Geng Gold intent on it, he would leave that for Heaven to deal with themselves.
It was a pity that not even a scrap remained of those four Hell Archdukes. The elders were certainly ruthless when they struck, though it was a bit of a loss in terms of loot.
Chen Xu looked up at the pensive Kunpeng in the sky. If it could learn even a fraction from its two bloodline ancestors, this trip would not be in vain.
Suddenly, a beam of Saint Light descended. From it stepped a priest holding a pure white shield. Judging by his unique attire, he was clearly a Titled High Priest.
“Guardian Priest of Heaven, Xiude, greets the Great Lord of the Undead.”
