Chapter 312 · Volume 1

Eternal-tier Tal Rasha, The Undead Seven Demon Kings Plan

The Soul Domain dissipated, and Tal Rasha’s soul returned to his body.
Since a large portion of his soul had been ground away by Aug, he was somewhat weak at this moment.
Yet he still released his soul to drag the massive demonic form before him—the body of the Hell Archduke, Aug.
Looking at the soulless Beholder flesh, Tal Rasha seemed to hear Aug’s agonizing wails once more.
That sound echoed within Tal Rasha’s soul like a piece of music.
Suddenly, a more profound sound rang out, and a sharp glint flashed within Tal Rasha’s soul.
His aura shifted instantly, and the Kunpeng realm he had borrowed through the 【Off-Duty】 talent was forcibly expelled.
Tal Rasha’s aura surged wildly as his soul recovered at high speed, undergoing a frantic qualitative transformation.
Seeing this, Chen Xu knew Tal Rasha was undergoing an advancement, so he directly teleported him and Aug’s body back to the Undead Dao Court.
Inside the fortress, Netherx watched with a face full of disbelief.
“By torturing his enemy and listening to their agony, he actually stepped into the Eternal tier. Is this skeleton trying to provoke those two Hell Demon Kings?”
Netherx looked toward Chen Xu in the distance, falling into deep thought.
Was it the skeleton’s own choice, or was it the Overlord’s design?
To use the representative powers of the Seven Demon Kings of Hell to combat demons—what a provocation.
In truth, it wasn't just Netherx who was puzzled; Chen Xu couldn't figure it out either.
How did his Undead Dao Court end up with a super-sadist who directly advanced to the Eternal tier through such an absurd display?
This made Chen Xu a bit worried. Would his reputation as the Lord of the Undead, and the reputation of the undead in general, start heading in a strange direction?
However, the Dao principle Tal Rasha had attained gave Chen Xu an idea.
The Seven Demon Kings of Hell were Destruction, Fear, Hatred, Torment, Pain, Sin, and Lies.
The Demon King of Destruction had already fallen into an eternal slumber within the Undead Dao Court, and its soul had been used by Chen Xu to create the Nephalem race.
Of the Seven Demon Kings, only six remained—assuming the Mother of Hell hadn't already filled the vacancy.
Seeing that Tal Rasha’s Dao principle was similar to those of the Demon King of Pain and the Demon King of Torment, Chen Xu formulated a plan.
He would create the ‘Seven Demon Kings’ of the Land of the Undead.
Chen Xu wanted to stop the Mother of Hell’s ritual. According to the Role-Stealing Method left by the Sage, he could compete for the roles of both the Villain and the Protagonist.
He didn't have a clear path for the Villain role yet, but his ideas for the Protagonist were very clear.
The Seven Demon Kings of Hell were indelible symbols in Hell’s wars of invasion, holding a weight of immense significance.
If he could replicate an undead version of the ‘Seven Demon Kings’ and have them defeat the Hell version, it might help in the competition for roles.
“Kunpeng’s devouring power combined with its colossal strength could match Destruction.”
“Torment and Pain are already covered by Tal Rasha. Even if I can't make seven, a group of six would work.”
“But who should take on Fear, Hatred, Sin, and Lies?”
“Sindragosa? No, she doesn't fit any of them.”
“Yan Ruyu and Huangjinwu could perhaps lean toward Lies. After all, for game designers, lying is as natural as breathing.”
Chen Xu was still deep in thought, but the demons on the opposite side weren't about to give him the time.
Upon sensing that Aug’s aura had vanished, the Hell demons across the way instantly fell into a frenzy.
Billowing black smoke spread continuously from the depths of the demon territory, with red lightning snaking through the dark mist.
On the ground, a massive army of hellhounds was charging, led by nine mythic-tier Cerberi.
On the backs of those hellhounds were equally massive great demons.
Holding giant cleavers, they and the hellhounds formed a charging cavalry.
Some hellhounds carried specialized demon priests who were continuously chanting incantations to buff the nearby demons.
【Blood Boil】, 【Frenzy】, 【Fire Shield】—various buffing spells were being stacked.
As the black mist approached the fortress, swarms of bat demons dove down from within, peeling back their hideous maws to reveal fangs as they launched sonic attacks at the fortress.
Hummmm~~~
Suddenly, burning boulders streaked through the black mist, creating dull whistles as they slammed into the earth.
Upon landing, Hell stone golems crawled out of the craters and ran toward the fortress.
Netherx immediately ordered: “The demons are out of their nest! Everyone, move!”
Woooooo—!
The war horns blared, and Heaven's defenders took their positions at various defensive works throughout the fortress, ready.
The grand holy cross atop the fortress was now fully charged with holy light, ready to be unleashed at any moment.
Disturbed by the demonic commotion, Chen Xu felt a bit irritable.
He looked at the formation before him. His soul perception spread out, revealing that demons were coming from all directions.
Chen Xu didn't bother counting them, as numbers had become meaningless at this point.
Within the black mist in the sky, Chen Xu sensed the presence of four Hell Archdukes.
The races of those four Archdukes corresponded exactly to the demon races currently on the field.
Bat demons, Hell stone golems, hellhounds, and great demons.
Under these circumstances, unless the Hell Archdukes were repelled, the demon legion could never be fully wiped out.
For every one killed, two or three more would be replenished through the Hellgate.
Inside the fortress, Chen Xu also sensed the auras of three angel priests—one was Netherx, and the other two were strangers.
They were outnumbered by one compared to Hell; if Aug hadn't died, they would have been outnumbered by two.
But Chen Xu also sensed a peculiar aura. He turned back toward the fortress, looking at the holy cross standing at its peak.
Perhaps noticing Chen Xu’s gaze, the holy cross actually transformed into a little angel and bowed to him.
“As I thought, it's an existence similar to Guixu.”
Chen Xu’s perception was correct. This magnificent Heavenly Fortress was also a living thing, a special creature similar to Guixu.
Moreover, the scale of this fortress far exceeded his floating city. With such a massive body, there was no telling how much energy it contained.
It was likely this fortress that allowed Heaven to hold out against the attacks of so many Hell Archdukes and demons.
“Bone Guard One.”
“My Lord.”
“Let the exercise continue. You take charge of the demon legions on the ground. As for those four in the sky... let Kunpeng show its face.”
“As you command, my Lord.”
