Chapter 288 · Volume 1

The Martial Arts Alliance Enters the Fray

Bone Guard One did not linger. After finalizing the relevant deployments and combat plans, he stepped through a spatial gate to another battlefield.
Through his relationship with Alifa, Chen Xu had acquired the coordinates of over a dozen worlds being invaded by Hell through Heaven's channels.
Like the world they had just left, these worlds had all rejected Heaven's grace, firmly believing they could rely on themselves to defeat the demons.
As for how Heaven dealt with such worlds, it depended entirely on the messengers sent to them.
Some messengers were kind-hearted; even after being rejected, they would extend Heaven's olive branch again when the world was at its most critical moment.
Others were arrogant and would not show mercy a second time to worlds that had been disrespectful.
Heaven already protected enough worlds and was fighting on enough battlefields; one more didn't make a difference, and one less wasn't a loss.
Having obtained the coordinates of over a dozen abandoned worlds from Alifa, Chen Xu opened spatial gates and dispatched his undead army.
As the commander of the undead army, Bone Guard One was naturally spread thin, needing to visit each world personally to oversee the arrangements.
Although he could command the armies in other worlds directly across spatial barriers through the Undead Network, Bone Guard One insisted on seeing each world for himself.
This was the command of the great Lord of the Undead, and he would not allow the glory of his master to be tarnished on his watch.
Skeleton heroes like Bone Guard Two took turns visiting each world, selecting targets to their liking.
Bone Guard One did not place strict restrictions on the skeleton heroes, allowing them to act freely. When necessary, the undead army would even coordinate with their actions.
The hunter duo of Bone Guard Two and Hades preferred hunting powerful demons and had no interest in ordinary ones. They roamed between worlds, harvesting the souls of demon lords one by one.
The warrior-type heroes—Bone Guard Three, Bone Guard Six, Bone Guard Seven, Bone Guard Eight, and Bone Guard Nine—were not so picky. Each skeleton took a world and unleashed a slaughter upon the demons.
As for Bone Guard Four, the master of assassination and traps, he found little use for his skills on such a massive battlefield.
Since the battlefields were neither Blue Star nor Chen Xu's personal territory, there was no 'defending the territory' to speak of, leaving his traps with nowhere to be placed.
It was hardly possible for an assassin like him to infiltrate the enemy's rear ahead of the undead legion just to set traps on the enemy's retreat route, was it?
Furthermore, Bone Guard Four was a traditional assassin who valued elegant kills over the brute force of a 'one against ten thousand' slaughter.
Large-scale legion warfare was simply not his forte.
Consequently, Chen Xu sent him to a different battlefield. Through a spatial gate, Bone Guard Four arrived beside Chen Xu's clone at the Universe Daoist Academy.
As soon as Bone Guard Four emerged, a branch draped over his shoulder. Nearby, Zhenyuan used a branch to point at him while winking at Li Hu.
“Bone Guard Four, my buddy!”
“Oh? He's your brother? But aren't you a natural-born Heaven-Earth Spiritual Root? Where did you get a skeleton brother?”
Among the special units under Chen Xu's command, Zhenyuan got along best with Bone Guard Three and Bone Guard Four, much like the pair formed by Patchwerk and Kunpeng.
Unfortunately, Zhenyuan didn't realize that the only reason Bone Guard Four hung out with him was that he had taken a liking to this Ginseng Fruit Tree—especially one that had undergone Wild Beastification.
Bone Guard Four had obtained many leaves and branches from Zhenyuan to craft various traps and tools, enriching his personal collection.
Only Zhenyuan was foolish enough to believe that Bone Guard Four simply wanted to play with him.
In terms of temperament, only the battle-crazed Bone Guard Three was a true match for the tree. Both were lovers of combat; once they got started and their excitement rose, not even ten dragons could hold them back.
While Li Hu and Zhenyuan were chatting, a massive black-and-white Taiji Map manifested south of the Universe Daoist Academy, outside Planet Yi.
Li Taiji stepped out of it, looking at the Universe Daoist Academy he had built with his own hands, his eyes filled with pride.
Behind him, a handsome man with a heroic air between his brows stepped out.
He wore a golden silk robe embroidered with various stars, totaling one hundred and eight in number.
This man was Li Taiji's head disciple, Bu Xingtian, also known as Star-Plucker.
Bu Xingtian called out to Li Taiji.
“Master.”
Li Taiji nodded and waved his hand.
“Go.”
“Yes.”
Bu Xingtian stepped forward into the void, his true qi surging. Brilliant starlight instantly filled the void.
These starlights merged together, taking on the appearance of Bu Xingtian.
Below, the disciples of the Universe Daoist Academy saw this and immediately recognized it as their senior brother's signature skill, the Starry Martial Body.
“Junior brothers and sisters!”
Bu Xingtian's voice, bolstered by his qi, echoed throughout the entire Universe Daoist Academy.
“The Mother of Hell has disturbed the peace of our Universe Daoist Academy with her hellfire. As Martial Artists, we do not care for grand theories; we can only repay them with our fists.
“Behind my master and me is the Yin-Yang Tunnel constructed by Martial Uncle Taiji Map. Beyond this tunnel lies a battlefield between the demons of Hell and Heaven.
“There are several Eternal-tier Hell Archdukes and a formidable Hell Demon King there. They will all be our targets.
“Our friends from other Martial Arts Holy Lands have their own means of reaching the battlefield.
“This time, our Universe Daoist Academy—our Martial Arts Alliance—will show Hell the consequences of provoking us Martial Artists.”
Bu Xingtian flipped his hand, and the massive head of a demon lord appeared in his grasp.
“Anyone who slays our Martial Artists or disturbs the peace of the Martial Dao shall die!”
As soon as he finished speaking, powerful force erupted from his hand, crushing the demon's head into powder.
“Kill! Kill! Kill!”
For a moment, shouts filled the Universe Daoist Academy.
Li Taiji nodded in satisfaction, placed his hands behind his back, and spoke.
“Any outer sect disciple who slays ten thousand demons may enter the inner sect directly.
“Any inner sect disciple who slays a hundred million demons or a hundred demon lords may become a progeny disciple.
“Any progeny disciple who slays a Hell Archduke or a Hell Demon King will receive a personal transmission of a technique from me.”
Upon hearing this, the shouts of the Universe Daoist Academy disciples grew even louder.
“Master is truly being generous this time, even offering a personal transmission,” Li Hu remarked with emotion. It had been a long time since he had seen Li Taiji offer such a reward.
However, Li Hu's enthusiasm for battle was not very high—at least, not nearly as high as that of the surrounding disciples.
This wine gourd preferred showing off, especially in front of Martial Artists whose realms were lower than his own.
Beside him, however, Zhenyuan was incredibly excited. His emotions were stirred by the surrounding shouts, and his branches began to lash out unconsciously, creating bursts of sonic booms that demonstrated their immense power.
Li Hu felt somewhat helpless and used his true qi to block Zhenyuan's wildly lashing branches, preventing him from accidentally injuring their fellow disciples.
In the starry sky, Bu Xingtian raised his hand and shaped nine star-light channels, connecting each of the nine main stars to the black-and-white Taiji Map.
“Everyone, set out!”
