"Is this a fighter jet? This is awesome."
After experiencing the thrill of speed, Chen Xu felt completely refreshed.
In contrast, Lin Chen and the other two were the exact opposite, starting to vomit the moment they stepped off the plane.
"This is your first time in a fighter jet, yet you're so relaxed. You really have something."
Xia Qiming couldn't help but be impressed. In all his years, he had never seen someone like Chen Xu.
Seeing that Lin Chen and the others had finished vomiting, Teacher Xia said, "Let's go. I'll take you to register first. Oh, Chen Xu, you don't need to. Your information was already registered when I processed your military ID earlier."
"Go straight to find Old Man Wen. He's the Director of the Institute of Dungeon Environments and Attributes at Daxia Academy, Wen Chu. Just use your navigation to get there. Le Yu gave you the Fuxi sub-unit, right?"
"He did. Should I head there directly? Can I call a ride inside the military campus?"
Chen Xu checked the navigation through the Fuxi sub-unit and found that it was a full ten kilometers away.
"There's a campus shuttle at the airport entrance. It runs every ten minutes."
"Are class user powers allowed on the military campus?" Chen Xu suddenly thought that he could teleport there directly by entering and exiting the Necrotic Space.
"Skills that don't cause large-scale damage are allowed. The three major districts are all covered by the Fuxi main body. If you're unsure, you can ask the Fuxi sub-unit directly. Did you get a mount-type undead creature from the dungeon?"
Xia Qiming asked curiously. In his memory, mount-type summoning skills were at least level 20. Could Chen Xu have obtained a new skill from the dungeon clear rewards that humans had never seen before?
"Not really, but I've mastered a teleportation method. I'll head out then. Goodbye, Teacher Xia. Goodbye, everyone."
After saying goodbye, Chen Xu used the Necrotic Space to teleport toward the navigation's destination, rapidly blinking through the distance.
The others on the scene were startled to see Chen Xu suddenly vanish from the spot.
"A mental strength fluctuation... he's already mastered the Necrotic Space to this extent? Chen Xu, you really never stop surprising people."
Xia Qiming keenly sensed the mental strength fluctuation in the air and immediately understood how Chen Xu had left.
"Was that a teleportation skill?"
"But isn't teleportation limited to ten or twenty meters? And isn't it a level 40 skill?"
The other three couldn't see through Chen Xu's maneuver, their eyes widening and mouths hanging open in surprise once again.
"Let's go. That kid Chen Xu has already forged his own path. You all need to work hard too. In this era, anything is possible. You might not necessarily be unable to surpass him in the future."
Xia Qiming comforted their bruised egos, feeding them a bowl of motivational soup. They were still kids, after all, and it wouldn't be good if their confidence was completely crushed.
On the other side, after several consecutive teleports, Chen Xu arrived at the Institute of Dungeon Environments and Attributes. His sudden appearance startled several passing students.
"Hello, Senior. Could you tell me how to get to Director Wen Chu's office?"
The navigation only led to the institute building without a specific room number, so Chen Xu had to ask a senior student who was also walking toward the building.
"Director Wen should be in the underground lab right now. Do you have an appointment? You can't get in without one."
The senior student had straight, shoulder-length hair with bangs, wore round black-framed glasses, and was dressed in the classic white lab coat of the academy. She held several paper documents in her hands.
"Teacher Xia Qiming made an appointment for me."
"Then just show your Huiwen Pen at the entrance. If you can get in, follow me. I happen to be going to the underground lab too."
"Huiwen Pen? What's that?" Chen Xu asked, confused.
"It's this. Everyone gets one when they enroll in the academy."
She took a fountain pen out of her white coat. "Aren't you from the academy?"
"I'm from the military academy. Will a Soul-Inducing Token work?" Chen Xu took the Soul-Inducing Token out of his storage ring and showed it to her.
"Oh, so you're a junior from the military academy. Since you were looking for Director Wen, I thought you were from the academy too. A Soul-Inducing Token works fine."
Realization dawned on her as she led Chen Xu to the institute's security gate. She pulled out her Huiwen Pen and placed it against the scanner, and the side door of the institute opened.
"Just place it against the scanner like that."
After saying that, the senior entered the institute through the side door.
Chen Xu followed her lead and placed his Soul-Inducing Token against the scanner. In the next instant, he felt as if the building itself had accepted him.
It was a mental sensation. When he first arrived, his mental strength had felt that the building was extremely repulsive to his presence, a feeling that grew stronger the closer he got.
After the scanner read his Soul-Inducing Token, the sense of repulsion vanished.
"A mental strength formation?" Chen Xu guessed as he entered the institute through the side door.
"Junior, this way."
The senior stood in front of an elevator to the front right, waving at him.
"Coming."
Chen Xu jogged over and followed Liu Qi into the elevator. She pressed the button for the third basement floor.
"Senior, my name is Chen Xu. I'm a freshman at the military academy this year."
"I'm Liu Qi. Are the exams already over this year? I haven't heard of any newcomers arriving at the academy yet. Could it be that you were specially recruited through the Dragon Seed Program?"
Hearing that Liu Qi also knew about the Dragon Seed Program, Chen Xu felt a bit speechless. Why did everyone he met know about it since he joined? Wasn't this supposed to be a highly classified matter?
"Uh, yes. Senior, how do you know about the Dragon Seed Program? This matter should be quite... you know."
Chen Xu hinted with his eyes.
Liu Qi understood what he meant but looked puzzled. "Is it? It's not some secret project, is it? Director Wen took a team to help modify several dungeon spaces, and I was on that team. I learned back then that they were being prepared for the Dragon Seed Program. Between the academy's researchers and the builder teams at the Heavenly Crafts Academy, there must be at least a hundred people who know about it. Everyone knows."
Chen Xu was stumped, not knowing how to respond.
In reality, Daxia didn't maintain a high level of secrecy regarding the Dragon Seed Program. After all, whether they were dragons or worms, they eventually had to be shown to the world. What Daxia wanted were true dragons that could soar through the clouds, command the winds and rain, pluck the stars and moon, and dominate the world. Furthermore, since the Dragon Seeds were mostly Destiny Seekers blessed by the World Will, there was little fear of anyone daring to harm them.
The elevator doors opened, and Chen Xu and Liu Qi stepped out.
"Follow me. I'll take you to see Director Wen. Remember not to touch anything here randomly, and don't wander off. This is an experimental zone, and there might be some unexpected dangers."
Liu Qi turned around with a serious expression.
"Got it. I promise not to touch anything."
"Good. Let's go."
Liu Qi turned back and led the way while Chen Xu followed cautiously behind her.
After bypassing an area filled with equipment and walking across an overhead walkway, the two arrived at an open space.
In the clearing, a short, stout elderly man was instructing nearby researchers on how to collect materials and analyze several animal carcasses on the ground.
"Director Wen, this student, Chen Xu, is looking for you."
Hearing this, Wen Chu turned around, took off his glasses, and looked Chen Xu up and down a few times.
"You're the student Xia Qiming said was coming for a trade?"
"Hello, Director Wen. I'd like to trade for that dungeon space fragment with the Dragon Tomb affix. I'm offering a space fragment with the forest and breeding affixes, along with a complete green dragon carcass."
Wen Chu put his glasses back on and pointed toward the clearing in front of him. "Release the green dragon carcass so I can take a look first."
"Is it alright to summon skeleton soldiers here? I need them to move the body."
Wen Chu looked puzzled but nodded anyway.
Chen Xu then commanded dozens of skeleton soldiers to hoist the green dragon carcass and, with a thought, moved them.
The massive green dragon carcass and the dozens of skeleton soldiers appeared in the clearing.
Wen Chu didn't look at the green dragon immediately but kept his eyes fixed on Chen Xu.
"Director Wen, is something wrong?"
Chen Xu couldn't figure out what the man was thinking.
Wen Chu shook his head and said, "It's nothing. I'm just curious why you can easily summon a heavy corpse and dozens of skeletons from the Necrotic Space at once, but you can't use your mental strength to summon the corpse individually."
"Huh? Can dead objects be summoned directly through mental strength?"
Chen Xu was equally shocked. It wasn't that he hadn't thought about storing and summoning dead objects directly, but he found that no matter how he tried, he couldn't succeed. He could only have the skeleton soldiers or Bone Guard One hold the items to indirectly put them into the Necrotic Space.
"Yes. The logic is the same as summoning a skeleton soldier."
Wen Chu finally turned his gaze to the green dragon carcass.
"It's missing half a wing, and the chest scales are gone. You call this complete?"
Wen Chu turned back to Chen Xu.
Meanwhile, Chen Xu was still immersed in what Wen Chu had just said, pondering the logic of summoning skeletons versus dead objects.
"Chen Xu, Director Wen is asking you a question."
It wasn't until Liu Qi nudged his shoulder that Chen Xu snapped out of it.
"Oh, that. Well, it's relatively complete. It was already like this when I encountered it."
The green dragon Oleander was the first opponent of such strength Chen Xu had faced. The loss of hundreds of thousands of skeleton soldiers that night had been so painful that he had subconsciously forgotten the dragon was missing half a wing.
"It got into a fight with a goblin king. As for the other half of the wing, I really don't have it. I do have a goblin king's head, though it's a piece of equipment."
Chen Xu took the 【Mutated Goblin King's Head】 out of his storage ring.
Seeing the head, Wen Chu became interested. He reached out to take it and inspected it closely.
After a moment, Wen Chu nodded and said, "This head actually has research value. The green dragon's life aura was actually mutated by the goblin's resentment. Interesting."
"Equipment can be researched too?"
"The type of an item is just a superficial classification by the World Will. The essence of the item doesn't change."
Liu Qi, standing nearby, answered for him.
"With this head included, we can make the trade."
"Deal!"
Fearing Wen Chu might change his mind, Chen Xu answered immediately and then took the dungeon fragment from his storage ring and handed it to him.
After taking the fragment, Wen Chu casually stuffed it into his pocket and said to Liu Qi, "Liu Qi, take him to District Two to find Old Man Xie. Tell Old Man Xie to take out the Dragon Tomb fragment and give it to him."
After speaking, Wen Chu walked away while studying the 【Mutated Goblin King's Head】, ignoring the researchers in the clearing.
"Junior, I didn't expect you to have so many good things. And you actually managed to kill a dragon before even starting school. That's incredible."
"Haha, just luck, pure luck," Chen Xu said modestly.
"Let's go. I'll take you to get your Dragon Tomb fragment."
Just as they were about to leave, Wen Chu's voice drifted from a distance. "If you can't figure out the logic for summoning skeletons and dead objects, you should go listen to Zhang Jingping's lecture."
