Looking at the information on the panel, Bai Ci was filled with utter disgust.
She had already expected that anyone still going on blind dates at this age would likely have some issues.
But she had never imagined that the concentration of scumbags among her blind dates would be this high. Of the first three, one was a murderer, one was a coward, and one had sacrificed his own wife and child to a cult.
And now, this fourth one was actually a pedophile with a life on his hands, whose parents had even aided and abetted him by covering up his crime.
In comparison, the second one could almost be considered a saint.
If she hadn't been mindful of keeping her Rain's Message panel a secret, and knowing that this man didn't have much longer to live, her reaction would have been far more than just keeping a cold face the entire time.
That night, before going to sleep, Bai Ci opened her Rain's Message panel.

Seeing the panel return to its initial state once again, she finally felt a sense of relief.
Yet another damned scumbag who deserved to die.
Still, she couldn't help but wonder what on earth was going on with the Yuanxin Matchmaking Agency. Why were all the blind dates they introduced to her such vile creatures?
While Bai Ci slept soundly, others did not sleep a wink that night.
At the crack of dawn, the archives of the Bureau of Investigation remained brightly lit, the glow of the computer screen reflecting on An Shu's exhausted face.
She had pulled an all-nighter. The desk in front of her was piled high with files seized from Wa Yeyao's villa.
Cult doctrines, sacrificial ritual procedures, financial records, and the on-site inspection report sent by the detection team were all sorted into neat piles, resembling a small mountain.
An Shu rubbed her throbbing temples, picked up the cold coffee on the desk, and took a deep gulp. The bitter taste barely managed to dispel some of her sleepiness.
She reached out and picked up the most crucial document—the on-site inspection report. This was the last one.
As she read, she couldn't help but cover her face with her hands, letting out a stifled sigh.
The detection team's conclusion was very clear: Wa Yeyao's cause of death was the use of expired raw materials during the sacrificial ritual, which caused the ritual's energy to become unstable, triggering a backlash that ultimately killed him.
From the conclusion, it seemed like a pure accident. The materials just happened to have expired, Wa Yeyao just happened to use them for the sacrifice, and it just happened to trigger a fatal backlash.
Yet An Shu couldn't shake a nagging feeling. She felt that things couldn't be that simple.
Wa Yeyao had believed in the Guiling Cult for many years. Judging from his financial transactions and material purchase records, he was supposed to hold his next sacrifice soon. He would have been exceptionally cautious. How could he make such a rookie mistake?
To find any anomalies, she had spent the entire night tracing the source of those sacrificial materials.
According to the files, Wa Yeyao purchased his materials through a covert underground channel. Although the supplier's identity was unknown, the transaction records were complete, with the production and expiration dates of every batch clearly marked.
Her investigation yielded absolutely no anomalies.
It was as if the expiration of those materials was truly just an unpredictable accident, completely unrelated to anyone else.
“An entire night of work, and this is the conclusion I get...” An Shu's tone was filled with frustration and unwillingness.
She tossed the report back onto the desk, leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and repeatedly turned over all the known clues in her mind.
But no matter how she thought about it, she couldn't find a single breakthrough. Every clue pointed directly to the word "accident."
The hands of the clock on the wall gradually pointed to seven in the morning, and the sky outside was already bright.
An Shu knew there was no point in pushing further; it would only exhaust her more.
She decided to grab some breakfast first, catch up on some sleep, and then re-examine the clues once she was fully rested.
She refused to believe there was nothing...
In the bureau's cafeteria, a few investigators who had woken up early or returned from early shifts were already having breakfast.
An Shu grabbed a bowl of soy milk and a few buns, then found a seat by the window.
Just as she took a bite of a bun, she heard two investigators from the Regular Investigation Unit at the neighboring table whispering about something, their voices filled with sighs.
“If only you had seen the scene. It was absolutely gruesome. But then again, you could say it's poetic justice.”
“Exactly. A scumbag like that deserved to die. I just didn't expect him to go out in such a bizarre way, but he brought it entirely on himself.”
These words instantly piqued An Shu's curiosity.
Carrying her tray, she quietly nudged closer and asked with a smile, “Hey guys, what are you talking about? What poetic justice? Did another case come up?”
Seeing that it was An Shu, the two investigators from the Regular Investigation Unit didn't hide anything. One of them, with a sigh on his face, spoke up: “It's a case we received last night.”
“A middle-aged couple reported it to the bureau. They said their son locked himself in his room after coming home, and no matter how much they called out, there was no response. They were worried something had happened.”
“When we arrived, there was no answer to our knocking. Left with no choice, we had to pick the lock to get in. As it turned out, the kid was already dead. He bled to death.”
The other investigator added with a complex expression, “You probably won't believe it, but his lower half—his manhood—was severed by a fruit knife, and he bled to death.”
“That's brutal. Was it a revenge killing?” An Shu was somewhat surprised. “Or a locked-room murder?”
“No, it was an accident,” the first investigator said, waving his hand with a complicated look.
“Huh?” This time, An Shu was thoroughly dumbfounded.
“We investigated the scene. There were no signs of a struggle in the room, and the doors and windows were completely intact and locked from the inside.”
“There were fruits scattered on the floor and an overturned fruit bowl. The knife that cut him was a fruit knife his mother had just bought that afternoon, which she'd left in the bowl to slice fruit.”
“Combined with the marks on the deceased's body, he must have accidentally knocked over the fruit bowl while watching a movie, causing the fruit knife inside to fly out.”
“After getting injured, he probably tried to call for help. But because of the excruciating pain, he panicked, tripped over a nearby chair, banged his head on the armrest, and knocked himself out cold.”
“Since nobody found him, he just bled to death like that. He couldn't be saved.”
“That is unbelievably bad luck,” An Shu said, puzzled. “But why did you say he deserved it?”
“What kind of movie do you think he was watching that made him knock over the fruit bowl? It was a video... the kind starring young children.”
“His parents tried to protect their son's reputation and argued with us over his computer. In the process, they accidentally opened a hidden folder. Inside was a video of him and his parents torturing and murdering an adult male.”
“Tch, the whole family is a bunch of vile scoundrels.”
Having said his piece, the investigator spat on the ground.
