Chapter 111 · Volume 1

Daily Life of a Marketing Account

【3F Pink Hairdryer】: Help! I'm actually going to hit someone! It's bad enough risking my life in an unlimited flow instance, but when I come out to browse the forum, I still get spammed by marketing accounts?
【4F OP's Reply】: OP is not a marketing account. You might be surprised. How could OP not be a marketing account? But that is indeed the case, and this editor is also very surprised.
【5F Wish I Knew Better】: You're a total idiot, OP. If this isn't a marketing account, then nothing is. You're thoroughly marinated in it.
【6F Summer Never Ends】: OP, I haven't cleared this instance yet. I wanted to ask, what do you mean by "numbered NPCs"? I've never heard of that term before.
【7F OP's Reply】: What's the deal with numbered NPCs? I'm sure everyone is familiar with NPCs, but what exactly is a numbered NPC? Let this editor guide you through it below.
What is a numbered NPC? In fact, they are NPCs with names that sound like homophones of numbers. You might be very surprised. Why would numbered NPCs appear? But that is indeed the case, and this editor is also very surprised.
That's everything about what numbered NPCs are. What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to let this editor know in the comments section so we can discuss it together!
【8F Since I'm So Kind】: First time seeing a live bot. Is Anomalous Infection starting to train AI models too? Training aside, what on earth did Anomalous Infection feed this AI? Make it spit it out already, hey!
【9F Mimi Meowmeow】: Numbered NPCs are just NPCs whose names sound like numbers. For example, in my run, there was an NPC named Zheng Shiguang. "Shi" is a homophone for "ten."
But this kind of NPC only exists in the Rainy Night Theater instance, so there's no need to pay too much attention to it.
【10F Loving You is Not My Fault】: OP's point is wrong, isn't it? I think having more players actually makes things more uncontrollable.
No matter how unpredictable NPCs are, they are still human at their core and follow fixed behavioral logic. But players are different. Because they won't easily die, you can never guess what they are actually planning to do.
Plus, players have all sorts of bizarre items and weird class skills. They'll start fighting over the slightest disagreement and easily get carried away, which ends up dragging the whole team down.
Last time, I was literally dragged to my death by a brainless teammate.
【11F Teacher Credentials Melt Like Butter】: Seconded! What do you mean "protecting numbered NPCs gets you a high score"?
I did my absolute best in the instance to protect an NPC named Zheng Ba. In the end, not only did that guy turn around and burn the clues, but he also stabbed me in the back. I barely walked away with a C-rank.
Has OP even cleared 《Rainy Night Theater》? This is pure fabrication to farm views. You're just taking advantage of the fact that Anomalous Infection doesn't have forum moderators to ban your account.
【12F Hehehe's Reply】: Anomalous Infection doesn't completely ignore forum posts. I have a friend who, because of her class—let me emphasize, because of her class, my friend is not that kind of person herself...
...because of her class, she posted some 18+ smut on the forum and got her account permissions suspended. She could only browse but not post, and her account was only unbanned recently.
【13F Remembrance of Things Past's Reply】: The classic "I have a friend."
【14F Big White Steamed Bun's Reply】: Share the source, please.
【15F Miserable and Melancholy】: OP is just clickbait.
I think this instance is just randomized; it has nothing to do with player strength. In our run, there were nine numbered NPCs. That's a lot, right? And there were also plenty of Werewolves from the third party hiding among them.
In the end, I still got an A-rank evaluation, so OP's conclusion is completely invalid.
【16F Good Luck from All Directions】: OP, do you even hear yourself? The fewer numbered NPCs, the stronger the players?
When my pro friend entered the instance, everyone except him and another player was a numbered NPC. He solo-killed the instance BOSS and got an S-rank evaluation. What do you have to say to that?
Your rule is purely self-contradictory. Are you just mistaking your own failed attempt for a universal guide?
【19F Newbie Seeking Carry】: OP, can you show some originality? Every single time it's "mind-blowing pattern" or "you'll definitely regret missing this." Clickbait is one thing, but your content is entirely wrong.
If you really had a secret to getting high scores, you would have returned to the real world long ago. Why would you still be lurking on the forum? I suggest everyone just block him!
【20F Bears on the Loose】: Everyone, don't bother arguing with OP. The logic of his entire post is flawed, completely incoherent, and basically arguing with itself.
One moment he says protecting NPCs is crucial, and the next he says the fewer NPCs, the better. Anyone who believes him is doomed for life.
【21F I Want to Get Rich】: Why does anyone still believe this "Lu Buping" guy? Isn't he a professional marketing account? But there's no need to swear at him, because his actual class is literally Marketing Account.
There are quite a few bizarre, rare classes in Anomalous Infection.
For example, I've seen a class called Old Wang Next Door. His skill is giving teammates a "Green Hat" buff to boost their attack power.
【22F Who Lives in a Pineapple Under the Sea's Reply】: Rather than the skill of this class, I'm more curious about what this magical player actually did to get it?
【23F Where is My Reflector?】: Since we can speak freely under a marketing account's post, I'm going to derail the thread.
Shoutout to the No. 9 NPC in my run. So smart, so obedient, and didn't drag us down at critical moments. Absolutely loved her!
If the NPCs in my future runs are all like this, I wouldn't mind getting an S-rank evaluation in every single instance.
【24F Wang Jiajia, Are You Still Alive?'s Reply】: Talk about wanting to have your cake and eat it too.
【25F Where is My Reflector?'s Reply】: I'm one of the Hedonists. I can't wait to never go back. Getting an S-rank evaluation would actually be a terrible outcome for me.
【26F Since We're Already Here】: Since I'm already here, I'll call out the No. 6 NPC in my run.
He looked like a Sunny and Cheerful Big Boy and had a pretty smile, but he actually smiled while stabbing me. His heart was way too cold. I'm completely traumatized.
【27F The Kid is Still Young】: Hahaha, the person above is so pitiful.
Shoutout to Miss Liu Qiwei in my game. She was seriously amazing, so kind and gentle.
Even when she was killing me, she was crying. I couldn't even bring myself to blame her.
【28F It's the Holidays】: Is the person above a masochist? Anyway, does anyone else think the No. 3 NPC was really pitiful? The No. 3 in my run died such a miserable death, I was almost in tears.
【29F Grumpy Old Pigeon】: I want to call out the No. 4 NPC! He was so stupid. He completely ruined a perfectly good clue and almost got us all killed.
...
Bai Ci leisurely scrolled through the post's comments section as she ate. Ever since the user on the 22nd floor started it, all the replies below had turned into either praising or calling out a certain NPC.
She also learned quite a few homophones for numbers from this, such as Yi, Er, San, Si, Wu, and so on. There were even some NPCs surnamed Fu whose given names were also homophones for numbers.
For example, Fu Qi or Fu Shi. She just didn't know if they were all actually Fu Liu.
