“Let’s stay over there for the night,” Liu Yi said, putting away her Points Detector and patting Ziyue’s small head. “We’ll continue tomorrow.”
By the time they arrived at Northeast District No. 2 Supply Station, the sky had turned completely dark.
The supply station was brightly lit, and several participants were resting in the dining area.
They didn't show any particular reaction when they saw Liu Yi walk in.
Liu Yi went straight to the points exchange terminal and redeemed a one-night stay plus a food combo.
【One-night accommodation redeemed. Points deducted: 10】
【One food combo redeemed. Points deducted: 5】
【Current total points: 482】
【Current ranking: 1】
After getting the room card, Liu Yi took the food combo and headed straight to her room.
“Bing bing.”
Once the door was closed, Ziyue jumped onto the bed, rolled around, and let out a cry, indicating she wasn't hungry yet.
“Alright.”
Liu Yi finished the energy meal that was part of her combo. She then took out a recovery liquid and an energy liquid from her backpack, placed them next to Ziyue’s portion of the food, and said:
“You can eat whenever you’re ready.”
Then, Liu Yi began her daily two-hour meditation session.
She sat cross-legged on the edge of the bed, hands resting naturally on her knees. Slowly closing her eyes, she adjusted her breathing until it became steady and deep.
Meanwhile, Ziyue started to feel hungry. She ate her food while occasionally glancing up at her Beast Tamer.
She knew this was Liu Yi’s fixed daily meditation time. Meditation was one of the ways to increase the development progress of the Beast Taming Space.
Two hours passed, and Liu Yi slowly opened her eyes.
Her gaze first landed on Ziyue, who was curled into a ball and sleeping soundly, and a small smile touched her lips.
She quietly cleaned up the empty bottles Ziyue had left behind, moving as silently as possible to avoid waking her.
After tidying up, Liu Yi decided to check her Beast Taming Space information for the first time in a while.
Ever since she had been certified at the Administrative Hall of the Beast Tamer Association, she had been pulling cards from the stone pedestal pool every day and meditating consistently, but she hadn't paid much attention to the actual development progress.
Liu Yi sank her consciousness into the Beast Taming Space to check its status:
【Beast Taming Space development progress: 16%】
【Number of pet contracts: 1/1】
“In less than a month, the progress has increased by 2%.”
Liu Yi was quite satisfied with this speed. After all, she remembered seeing someone on the forum mention that their progress was only at 15% after three years of awakening.
However, if she wanted to catch up to her sister, she needed to keep working hard.
After washing up and preparing to rest, Liu Yi opened the Points Detector to check the leaderboard one last time.
1st Place: 【Ji Xiaoyao】 — Points: 500
2nd Place: 【Liu Yi】 — Points: 482
It seemed Ji Xiaoyao hadn't chosen to stay at a supply station just because it was dark. Instead, she had taken advantage of the night to continue earning points, reclaiming the top spot.
“It seems she really wants that first place,” Liu Yi chuckled softly, turned off the Points Detector, and lay down to sleep.
...
Early the next morning.
Liu Yi woke up early. She got up quickly, washed up briefly, and left the room with Ziyue.
There were significantly more participants in the supply station than last night, but most hadn't started moving yet, just gathering in small groups for breakfast.
Liu Yi walked to the points exchange terminal, which also displayed the Points Leaderboard—
1st Place: 【Ji Xiaoyao】 — Points: 540
2nd Place: 【Liu Yi】 — Points: 482
“Another 40 points?” Liu Yi narrowed her eyes. “Is she pushing the absolute limits of her sleep schedule?”
“Bing bing!”
Ziyue let out a high-spirited cry, indicating she was ready to battle at any time.
Liu Yi rubbed her head and smiled. “No rush, let's have breakfast first.”
She redeemed a food combo, found a quiet corner, and quickly finished the simple breakfast.
With her stomach full, Liu Yi led Ziyue out of the supply station.
Over the next few days, the competition on the Points Leaderboard became increasingly fierce.
Liu Yi’s plan was simple: rotate between supply stations to issue challenges.
Every day, she moved to a supply station in a different area to find new participants for duels.
On the third day in the Secret Realm.
Liu Yi’s points broke 1,800, briefly taking her to the top of the leaderboard.
However, once night fell, Ji Xiaoyao’s points surged ahead again.
On the fourth day in the Secret Realm.
Liu Yi began specifically targeting stronger participants. After winning several high-stakes duels in one go, she took the lead again.
Yet, only three hours later, Ji Xiaoyao’s points caught up.
On the fifth day in the Secret Realm.
The gap between the two remained around 50 points, with their rankings constantly flipping.
By now, almost every participant in the Secret Realm knew the names Liu Yi and Ji Xiaoyao. Some even started placing bets, guessing when the two would finally have a head-on encounter.
Early morning on the sixth day in the Secret Realm.
Liu Yi stood outside Southwest District No. 1 Supply Station, having just checked the latest Points Leaderboard—
1st Place: 【Liu Yi】 — Points: 4055
2nd Place: 【Ji Xiaoyao】 — Points: 4051
The difference was only 4 points.
Although she had been challenging other participants these past few days, she still hadn't run into Ji Xiaoyao.
Liu Yi found this normal, as the other girl was clearly moving between different areas to find challenges as well.
However, what Liu Yi found a bit strange was that despite moving through so many supply stations, she hadn't even caught a glimpse of Baili Jinxuan.
Looking at the Points Leaderboard, Baili Jinxuan was in the top 100. But given her point total and her personality—as well as the Phantom Cat’s personality—Liu Yi didn't think Baili Jinxuan would be the type to constantly jump between supply stations to find duels.
She just didn't know where that young lady had run off to.
“Liu Yi!”
While she was lost in thought, Liu Yi suddenly heard someone call her name from behind.
Snapping back to reality, she turned around and saw a figure sprinting out of the dense forest behind her.
As the figure drew closer, it turned out to be the very person she was just thinking about: Baili Jinxuan.
Baili Jinxuan was clutching the Phantom Cat tightly with her left arm while her right hand was raised high above her head, waving frantically at Liu Yi.
She was holding something that looked like a blueprint in her waving hand, and there were even a few leaves stuck in her hair.
Finally, Baili Jinxuan ran up to Liu Yi, panting for breath but wearing an excited smile. She said breathlessly, “Wow! It’s been six days in the Secret Realm, and I finally ran into you!”
