Liu Yi watched the Blazing Feather Eagle's charge and commanded, "Dragon's Breath, straight up."
Chiying opened its mouth, and dark golden energy condensed in its throat.
A purplish-golden aura erupted from Chiying's mouth, surging directly towards the diving Blazing Feather Eagle.
The two forces collided head-on in the air.
"Boom!"
Light exploded, and the shockwave spread outwards, tearing a huge hole in the surrounding rain curtain.
The Blazing Feather Eagle's dive was forcibly halted by the Dragon's Breath. It was knocked over by the impact, tumbling twice in the air, several flight feathers on its wings scorched.
Chiying wasn't unscathed either.
Although the Winged Flash Strike was blocked by the Dragon's Breath, the Blazing Feather Eagle had unleashed Blazing Air Burst the moment its Winged Flash Strike was intercepted, and the residual shockwave still affected Chiying.
Red flames spread from the center of the explosion, licking at Chiying's scales.
Chiying was pushed downwards several meters by the impact before it stabilized itself.
A few more charred marks appeared on its scales.
After stabilizing itself, the Blazing Feather Eagle's sharp eagle eyes fixed on Chiying, a near-mad fighting spirit burning deep within its pupils. Flames erupted from the gaps in its feathers.
Shui Heyu stood on his maglev skateboard, his lips pressed together as he stared at the spreading flames on the Blazing Feather Eagle.
The rain had stopped.
It was time.
"Blazing Feather Eagle, dive! Blazing Air Burst!"
The Blazing Feather Eagle's wings suddenly folded, its body like a burning meteor, diving straight towards Chiying.
Blazing Obsession activated.
When stamina falls below a certain level, Fire-type skill power increases by 30%.
Blazing Air Burst activated.
Target is under Burn status, greatly increasing power.
With two layers of buffs stacked, the power of this strike had already surpassed the scope of a B-rank skill, directly approaching A-rank.
Shui Heyu stared intently at the diving pillar of flame, his heart pounding like a drum.
The contestants in the staging area watched the screen intently.
"This strike… the Blazing Feather Eagle is going all out."
"Blazing Air Burst plus Blazing Obsession, this damage… can that dragon withstand it?"
"It still has two layers of Burn on it, which will further increase Blazing Air Burst's power."
"And look, it's already taken quite a few hits; its scales are cracked."
"If this hit lands, the outcome is decided."
Liu Yi's gaze locked onto the diving figure.
The Blazing Feather Eagle's speed was faster than any previous attempt, and its angle was more treacherous.
It no longer used flashy changes in direction or floating islands for cover; it simply charged straight at Chiying in a near-suicidal manner.
This was a desperate strike.
Liu Yi quickly scanned Chiying's status.
The two layers of Burn were still active, and Death Rain had ended. This battle should also end.
"Chiying, Rising Dragon Strike."
Chiying threw its head back and let out a clear dragon's roar, its dark figure suddenly shooting skyward. Dragon-type energy condensed around its body, forming a golden, conical vortex.
Two figures, one golden-red and one dark purple, rushed towards each other from opposite directions.
The Blazing Feather Eagle's dive carried flames that incinerated everything; the air was distorted by the high temperature.
Chiying's Rising Dragon Strike carried the might to tear everything apart; the air was cut through.
"Boom!!!"
The two forces collided head-on.
Golden-red flames and golden Dragon Breath exploded in the air, erupting in dazzling white light and a deafening roar.
The shockwave spread outwards, causing the surrounding sea of clouds to churn.
The Blazing Feather Eagle's Blazing Air Burst hit Chiying, and flames exploded on its scales.
Chiying's Rising Dragon Strike also hit the Blazing Feather Eagle without a doubt.
The Blazing Feather Eagle's body stiffened, its wings drooping limply, feathers scattering from the energy impact.
The two figures froze in mid-air for a moment, then simultaneously fell.
The Blazing Feather Eagle landed first on the edge of a secondary island, its wings draped weakly on the floating island's surface, feathers scorched black, and a deep wound on its chest.
It struggled to stand, but after several attempts, it failed. Its sharp eagle eyes slowly closed.
Chiying followed, its dark body crashing heavily onto the central double helix floating island. Some scales shattered, and sparks seeped from the cracks in its wounds.
It tried to lift its head, but the paralysis from Rising Dragon Strike, coupled with the continuous consumption from Burn and the immense damage from the final Blazing Air Burst, left its body completely unresponsive.
On two floating islands, one high and one low, one left and one right, both pets lay fallen, neither able to stand.
The battlefield was silent.
The referee's mechanical voice finally broke the silence.
【Blazing Feather Eagle is incapacitated! Moling Dragon is incapacitated!】
【Winner, Liu Yi of Tianqi Beast Taming High School!】
In front of the floor-to-ceiling windows in the B-District staging area, several contestants were still staring at the frozen image on the screen, silent for a long moment.
"…A draw?"
"Strictly speaking, it's not a draw. Both pets were incapacitated simultaneously. Liu Yi wins by score because she won the first match, making the score 2:1."
"I know. My point is… it already fought one match. Even though it didn't suffer serious injuries in the Molten Blast Lizard match, its stamina and energy must have been significantly depleted. Then in the second match, it took so many hits from the Blazing Feather Eagle and still managed to use Rising Dragon Strike at the end…"
A male student in a Blazing Sun High School uniform leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his expression complex: "Little Shui did his best. The tactical arrangement for the Molten Blast Lizard match was flawless—stack Burn on Chiying, drain its stamina, and let the Blazing Feather Eagle finish with full stats. No one could find fault with that strategy."
"But the problem is, the opponent doesn't fall for it at all," a girl beside him interjected. "The attack reductions from Burn and Feather Dance were ineffective. In Sheng Mingxi's match last week, Fear Face and Soul Devour were also ineffective. What kind of trait is this? Immunity to all negative statuses?"
The staging area was quiet for a few seconds.
"So Shui Heyu really did his best. Anyone else might not have even made it past the Molten Blast Lizard match."
"It can only be said that Chiying is too strong."
"It's not just that Chiying is strong; it's that Liu Yi knows how to train. If you're talking about the Dragon-type itself being strong, then yes, that's universally acknowledged. But her Silver Snow Fox is also ridiculously powerful."
"So how exactly does she train them?"
"Who knows? Maybe that's just what a genius is like."
"How much did this Liu Yi from Tianqi hide in the first week?"
"The Silver Snow Fox's Snowfall and Extreme Cold Storm, and the Moling Dragon's Death Rain, were all just pulled out this week. Who knows what she'll pull out next week?"
