Xu Mo and Bai Feifei froze at the same time.
Two people, one body—an unprecedented, bizarre sensation.
“Holy crap,” Xu Mo blurted out, his voice slipping out from the half of his mouth he could control.
“What's going on? Bai Feifei, did you log into my account?”
“I don't know, I just suddenly took over,” Bai Feifei's voice emerged from the right side of his mouth. “I thought you handed control over to me.”
With two people trying to speak through the same mouth, their tongue almost tied itself in a knot.
Xu Mo immediately barked, “Shut up! You speak only after I'm done!”
“Oh, okay,” Bai Feifei replied, nearly tying their tongue in a knot again.
What the hell was going on?
Xu Mo's mind raced, quickly reviewing everything that had just transpired. This had to be the work of that Containment Object.
It looked like he had been directly stripped of control over half of his body.
But that lost half of his body had happened to be logged into by Bai Feifei!
Coincidentally, Bai Feifei had also been stripped of half her control, but that exact half was logged into by him!
This was perfect. The two of them had exploited a bug by taking half each, completely canceling out the debuff.
At this thought, Xu Mo couldn't help but grin wildly, directing his thoughts at the Blood Medal of Choice:
“And they call you S-024. What a piece of garbage. You can't even tell the two of us are actually in one body.”
Of course, his current sinister grin was restricted to only half of his face. The other half still wore Bai Feifei's serious expression, making him look exceptionally psychotic.
“It's fine. Just take your cues from me in a bit. This is actually pretty fun, hehe.”
“Our minds are one!”
Xu Mo gripped his longsword tightly, which meant he was also gripping his own other hand. He chuckled.
He even felt a sense of novelty. Though he was holding his own hand, it felt like he was holding someone else's.
Hearing his words, Bai Feifei was utterly speechless.
What did he mean by “take your cues from me”?
How was she supposed to read his facial cues? Even if she crossed her eyes, she wouldn't be able to see his half of the face!
The two of them adapted slightly, and as they looked up, they witnessed Liang Shuguang's dramatic transformation.
Liang Shuguang's body began to shudder violently. Propping himself up against the giant tree with both hands, he looked as if he were shedding his skin.
His originally crippled legs, which had been dangling uselessly from his wheelchair, began to wither at a visible rate, as if the last drop of moisture had been sucked dry.
Eventually, they turned into empty sacks of skin.
Then, from his waist, two brand-new legs burst through his flesh, forcefully sprouting from his sides!
With his feet firmly on the ground, his trembling body finally stilled, and he slowly stood up straight.
The extremely bizarre aura emanating from him grew exceptionally intense.
At this moment, on Xu Mo's game panel, Liang Shuguang's level—which had been greyed out—began to turn red, indicating that his power had returned.
His level had even broken through from Level 69 to Level 70!
A domineering aura soared into the sky. A third Prophet had appeared on this battlefield.
Or rather, it was uncertain whether he was a Prophet or an Avatar-level aberration now, given that his level had turned red.
For thirty years, he had finally stood up once more. Yet, as he felt the immense power flowing through him, there was no joy in his heart.
Instead, his face, which always wore a smile, seemed unable to maintain its expression. It contorted into a deep sadness, and he let out a long sigh.
He also raised his head, looking toward the merged Xu-Bai entity (hereafter still referred to as Xu Mo).
Immediately after, his eyes widened in bewilderment. He and Xu Mo stared at each other for a moment, and then both spoke in surprise at the exact same time.
Xu Mo: “You can still stand?”
Liang Shuguang: “Why are you unaffected?”
Liang Shuguang looked down at the Blood Medal of Choice impaled in his chest, then at the distinct, contrasting expressions on the left and right sides of Xu Mo's face, and nodded slightly.
“It seems you have secrets of your own.”
“Of course,” Xu Mo grinned. “Did you think you were the only one with tricks up your sleeve?”
A wild roar suddenly echoed through the sky.
Behind Qiu Jing, the towering tree rose violently once more, its vines thrashing madly.
His eyes had completely lost all sanity, leaving only primal madness and fury.
His body began to shed its skin, transforming into pure wood.
Under the previous “choice,” some had mutated directly while others had their aberration paused. He was not one of the lucky ones.
Thus, he had now become a tree monster.
“Roar!!!”
With a roar to the heavens, ten thousand trees grew wild. Countless towering trees burst through the flooded streets, pushing up against the emerald-green light screen!
In an instant, the entirety of Dawn City was shrouded in the shadow of a primeval forest.
Snapped branches collapsed like pillars of heaven, crashing into the Inner City's buildings, sending debris and water flying.
The people of the Inner City scrambled to escape; some swam with a single arm, while others clung to wooden planks to float.
Strangely, their aberration speed actually slowed down quite a bit.
Qiu Jing's massive tree-monster body thrashed wildly. Bringing with it a world-ending force, his colossal wooden fist slammed down toward Liang Shuguang and Xu Mo.
The sheer force generated a deafening whistle of wind, yet just as the blow was about to connect, it stopped instantly!
Liang Shuguang remained standing there.
He raised his right hand, aiming his palm at the massive wooden fist. No energy seemed to emanate from him, yet the tree monster was frozen in place.
It was even trembling slightly.
His eyes glowing with a dark crimson light, Liang Shuguang looked up at the tree monster—formerly Qiu Jing—which now stood dozens of meters tall, and cold-snorted.
“You beast, what do you think you are doing?”
His voice didn't carry much force, yet to the other party, it sounded like an absolute command.
Then, a scene that made everyone's skin crawl unfolded.
A look of intense terror appeared on the giant tree monster's face.
It quickly retracted its suspended wooden fist and began to shudder violently.
Its massive body then slowly bent forward. Segment by segment, its thick trunk lowered itself until it knelt in the air before Liang Shuguang.
An Avatar-level aberration was actually kneeling to Liang Shuguang!
Xu Mo: ?
Bai Feifei: ?
Controlling their respective eyes on each side of the face, both of them witnessed this exact scene.
Terror instantly gripped Bai Feifei's heart. Liang Shuguang could actually communicate with aberrations?
Why was that thing kneeling to him? What on earth had he become!
Xu Mo, however, was far more straightforward, speaking up directly:
“Holy crap... You look even more badass than Zhulong.”
Liang Shuguang glanced at Xu Mo but said nothing, merely waving his hand casually at the massive tree monster.
The tree monster, Qiu Jing, quickly turned around while trembling, as if it had just received a grand pardon.
It roared to the heavens once more, stepped forward, and extended its long arm, slamming it heavily toward Kong Man, who was struggling to hold on amidst the water mist!
As if venting the fury pent up in its heart.
Kong Man: ?
