Chapter 122 · Volume 1

No Favors, but Accidents Can Be Arranged!

Hearing her words, Assistant Lin felt completely dazed.
Acting like it's her own damn house?
Does she think she's a kindergarten teacher greeting kids?
Does she really think that chair was meant for her?!
Xu Mo sat in the specially cushioned chair, legs crossed, resting an elbow on the armrest as he waved toward Zheng Ziyun.
“You're a grown man, no need to be shy.”
Standing several meters away, the smile on Zheng Ziyun's face had completely vanished, his mouth twitching uncontrollably.
The Yaoguang Academy students behind him exchanged glances, while the reporters went into a collective frenzy, their camera lenses swiveling in unison.
Although Zheng Ziyun had invited them, for reporters, engagement was everything.
“Bai Feifei” was currently the hottest topic in the city. By snatching the center seat, she had just provided them with the perfect material!
One reporter whispered, “Teacher Bai is really bold. Principal Zheng is a veteran Old-Timer. This is bound to cause trouble.”
Another reporter didn't even turn his head. “Trouble is good! Trouble is news!”
The students of the Qingping Academy Elite Class stood at the edge of the field, their expressions uniformly stunned.
But despite their shock, they felt a strange sense of satisfaction deep down.
Qingping Academy was supposed to be the top academy in the Inner City, yet with the Principal away, this old man from the opposition was acting like he owned the place and bossing everyone around.
While his seniority technically allowed it, it still felt like a lump in their throats.
Ye Yu stood behind Bai Feifei, her lips curling into a smile she couldn't suppress.
Zheng Ziyun didn't move. The smile was gone from his face. Without even looking at “Bai Feifei,” he muttered indifferently to himself,
“Young people these days really have no manners.”
As soon as he finished speaking, one of his attendants strode purposefully toward the chair.
The man wore dark combat gear, his muscles bulging against his sleeves, veins popping on his neck, and his eyes shot through with blood vessels.
He did not look like someone to be trifled with.
“Little girl.” He stood before “Bai Feifei,” staring down at her from his height.
“You should be clear about your own status.”
“Is it appropriate for you to sit there?”
Xu Mo looked up, scanning him from head to toe.
On the game panel, this man's level was fluctuating wildly between fifty-one and fifty-nine.
It was obvious he had overdone the juicing. These people had clearly gone to extreme lengths to boost their strength before coming here.
“My status?” He leaned back against the chair, his lips curling slightly. “I've said it before—if you don't know who I am, it's simply because you're not on my level.”
“As for the seat, it really isn't quite right. Why isn't there a carpet? What, are you here to be my footstool?”
This was pure, unadulterated provocation!
The juiced-up man was already in a state of mental instability due to the potion's side effects, and his intellect was average at best. Faced with such words, he couldn't even think of a comeback for a moment.
In the distance, Assistant Lin's face was dark with frustration. She wondered where on earth “Bai Feifei” came up with such creative insults.
Usually, the girl kept her mouth shut and seemed like such a nice person.
Seeing the atmosphere grow increasingly tense and the reporters clicking their shutters frantically, she took a few quick steps, intending to smooth things over.
However, after just one step, something crossed her mind, and her expression turned solemn.
Then, as if by some strange impulse, she withdrew her foot and stood silently in place, watching the situation unfold.
Meanwhile, a flash of violence crossed the eyes of the man in front of “Bai Feifei.” His voice was low, as if he were restraining something primal.
“Are you brain-dead, or do you really not understand social graces...?”
“Favors and social graces?” Xu Mo drew out his words. “I certainly don't have any of those.”
“But an accident? I can certainly arrange that!”
Staring into Xu Mo's eyes—which looked at him as if he were already a corpse—the attendant's emotions instantly detonated. A low growl escaped his throat.
“You're asking for death!”
The side effects of the drugs were on full display; the veins in his neck throbbed violently, and his entire face turned a deep shade of purple.
Perhaps it was the side effects, or perhaps it was the sudden surge of power that made him believe he was invincible.
Whatever the case, his temper was currently explosive.
I told you to stand up! I told you to get the hell out of that seat!
The last string of restraint in his mind snapped, and a burst of violent killing intent erupted from him.
He raised his hand, fingers curved into a claw, and lunged directly for “Bai Feifei’s” shoulder with a whistling sound!
To an outsider, the strike looked like he merely intended to throw her out of the chair.
But with such speed and ferocious power, he was aiming to crush the bones of the girl before him!
Looking at her arrogant yet beautiful face, the man's eyes filled with even more cruelty.
In Xu Mo's eyes, an equally cold, mocking light flashed.
I was just waiting for you to make a move.
This idiot really couldn't handle a little provocation!
The other guy had become violent from the drugs, but Xu Mo was always violent!
Or rather, he didn't even consider himself violent; it was just his natural state.
Xu Mo moved. With a flick of his wrist, the silver bracer he had taken from Huang Jiahao instantly restructured itself, transforming into a streamlined, razor-sharp short sword.
His shoulder dropped slightly as the short sword lunged out like a viper, aiming straight for the weakness marked by the Killing Machine.
Wind, force, and steel—all within inches.
Then, a flash of sword light exploded before everyone's eyes.
In close-quarters combat, the silver blade traced a cold, sinister arc through the air. The next moment—pfft!
The terror of death instantly enveloped his opponent. He was, after all, a Rank 5 Scavenger—essentially just a slightly larger piece of trash—and he instinctively jerked his neck aside.
The sword tip pierced through the fibers of his combat suit, slicing through skin and muscle, and piercing the fascia before lodging firmly against the bone.
The movement was clean and efficient. Xu Mo's other hand wasn't idle either; he grabbed the man's wrist and twisted it violently in the opposite direction.
Crack!
In a single exchange, there was an instant fracture and the drawing of blood.
Even Bai Feifei herself, who was becoming accustomed to it, felt her hands and feet go cold every time she watched the Evil God take action.
He was too fast. When it came to delivering lethal strikes, she had yet to see anyone who could rival this Evil God.
Everything happened so quickly that before the man's pain receptors could even register the injury, he realized with shock that he had been defeated.
“Bai Feifei’s” appearance was simply too deceptive, leading these Inner City people to act with carelessness and contempt.
However, when Xu Mo struck, he never gave his enemies a chance to regret their negligence.
“Heh, I guess those drugs weren't for nothing!”
Seeing that the man had avoided a fatal blow, Xu Mo even had the leisure to mock him. In the next second, he slammed a palm into the man's throat!
Thud!
“Gah—! Cough, cough!
With that strike, the man's impending scream was jammed in his throat. He stumbled back several paces, his broken wrist hanging limply, his five fingers trembling in disbelief.
