(Chapter 80 is fully the author’s official VIP release announcement. We are publishing it to maintain numbering consistency with the raws)
The novel goes VIP tomorrow.
A massive update is required for a VIP release. Barring any accidents, I will release five chapters—over 10,000 words—at midnight tomorrow. I humbly ask for your first subscription!
If only four chapters are posted, it means I was "solo-killed" by writer's block. My writing speed is quite slow; I might sit at the computer all day and only manage to write a bit over 6,000 words.
Then, the day after tomorrow, the update time will be adjusted back to around 8:00 AM.
To be honest, it took me quite a while to adapt to the Qidian writing style. It was only after coming here that I realized single-love-interest stories seem to be more popular.
However, "Light-White" is the keynote of this book. All subsequent character cards will basically revolve around this core, so there is no need to worry about the "flavor" changing. It is all "it-has-to-be-you" heavy revolutionary friendship!
I’m sure everyone has noticed that the world-building of this book draws inspiration from Project Moon, Warhammer, and the like. Some of the settings are intentionally exaggerated—for instance, bullets being more expensive than guns.
I don’t like restricting my thoughts to a rigid, clearly defined framework. I prefer a world-view that is expansive, romantic, operatic, and imaginative.
Therefore, the construction of this world will be grand and not strictly rigorous. There is no need to be too pedantic or nitpick certain settings. Just clear your mind and let the flow of my words carry you. I will gradually pull back the curtain on this grand, operatic world, displaying the world in my heart upon the stage for all of you to see.
Regarding the future plot, it will lean slightly toward the "Unlimited" style. Each Corrupt Hive City will be like a dungeon, with its own detailed sub-worldview, settings, and background, revolving around the characters in the current banner.
There won't be an excessive number of banner characters—perhaps only four or five until the story concludes. I will do my best to give each one a distinct personality that readers will grow to love.
As for the combat power system, the entire book will be restricted to a relatively low-power setting. After all, this is still a story leaning toward the "eldritch" genre. The threat of firearms will remain throughout the entire book. You certainly won't see anyone physically crushing mountains; even in the late game, it will be a matter of "glass cannons" scheming against one another.
Furthermore, regarding Anya's character card: because it involves a spoiler that spans the entire novel, I can only present it alongside the new banner characters once we reach the Star of Art.
Finally, the "starting village" arc is coming to an end. Thank you all for following the story until today!
Please give me a subscription tomorrow—let's make a strong push for the first subscription!
