Chapter 462 · Volume 1

The Rebel

On the battlefield, the girls rapidly approached the final zone; on the 3D map, five red dots were getting closer and closer to their location.
"As we can see, the player Dark Gold Rose is rapidly approaching the target at extreme speed. She is charging, they are charging, without the slightest pause!" Ince's tone was excited.
In the image, the five members of Light-Chaser Garden were running wildly, becoming bursts of life ignited within this gray ruin. Three Assault Hawk gunships were carpet-bombing their position, snipers attempted to lock onto their coordinates, and self-exploding drones followed their shadows like lingering ghosts. The haze of death was left far behind them, for the light of a new life lay just ahead.
They shifted their positions and crossed paths to dodge the sniper bullets and artillery fire that flew at them at every moment. Any single mistake would result in total failure, yet they did not stagnate for even a second, still accelerating toward that clearly demarcated world swallowed by light!
"Stop them!" Inside the communication channel, Nanjiamu's eyes were bloodshot as he roared himself hoarse.
Two hundred meters, one hundred meters, fifty meters—the hundred-meter distance vanished in an instant until the silhouettes of the enemies emerged from beneath the buildings, appearing clearly within their line of sight.
"You won't get away!"
Angelina sprinted across the rooftops of the buildings, suddenly leaping into the air and twisting gracefully to transform into a bolt of silver lightning as she hurled the lance in her hand.
Abyssal White Flower pierced through space in an instant, streaking across the sky and remaining dazzling even in the broad daylight. Space shattered like a broken mirror, exploding layer by layer. The tip of her lance was omnipotent and invincible, like a wolf on the snowy plains focused on its prey, biting down madly toward her target!
"For the Golden Navigator!" a paladin roared as he leaped out, pushing his armor and defensive skills to their absolute limit to intercept the path of Abyssal White Flower, only for his chest to be pierced through!
Angelina's pupils constricted violently. She had not expected these madmen to go to such lengths for their guild.
"A good opportunity!" The eyes of that man's teammates lit up.
With their comrade attacked, they had also entered a combat state, meaning they could launch a Visiting Battle by Overstepping Authority against the members of Light-Chaser Garden!
"Overstepping..." one person's throat trembled as fine golden patterns emerged in the air before him, followed by countless golden chains of restriction that burst out like slithering snakes, violently binding his throat.
"Don't even think about getting your way... don't even think about it..."
Not far away, Bai Youyou maintained her casting stance. After her face had looked grim for a while, it quickly became determined. She took a deep breath and shouted, "Mental trial!"
Golden prohibitions descended from the sky!
As the fire scorched the hearts of the five people, it simultaneously scorched her own soul. Thorns tore through her skin, growing wildly and wantonly as they entangled her body. Red roses bloomed stunningly, and crimson blood mixed with the golden blood of the roses flowed backward through her body.
Almost at the same time, the five people subjected to the mental trial let out shrill wails. No one could endure such extreme torture; some clutched their heads and screamed, while others pounded their chests, wanting to dig out their boiling hearts to escape through death.
"Quickly, I can't hold on for long, seize them..."
Bai Youyou gritted her teeth, her face pale as she forced these words through the gaps in her teeth. In two senses of the word, the black-haired girl at this moment looked like a blooming scarlet rose.
Xu Xiaoyou flashed past her side, recalling the blood that had dripped from the girl's wrist back in the Corrupt Hive City after she had launched a mental trial against the director of the Raven Agency.
As expected, the mind inquisitor must bear the same pain as the one being judged when using this ability. Only when the judge experiences the pain of the judged can the most just verdict be reached.
The Order Court was the only family capable of producing the 'mind inquisitor' sequence. Similarly, regardless of their personality, the mind inquisitors of the Order Court would inevitably descend into madness. Once the thought of self-destruction arose, they would fall into an existential crisis until their personality collapsed.
Perhaps it was because of the pain brought by initiating a trial, or perhaps it was because they walked the world with human nature yet had to make unjust judgments with the cold divinity of justice.
Bearing the mental trial of five people simultaneously... Xu Xiaoyou shook her head. She had no time to think about the pain Bai Youyou was experiencing right now; she had to win.
"Dark Gold Rose!"
At this moment, Nanjiamu, piloting his titan, finally reached the battlefield. With a thunderous boom, he crashed down in front of her, the ground sinking as dust filled the air.
"Your opponent is right in front of you. Where do you think you're going?"
"You look like you've already lost your mind," Xu Xiaoyou said calmly. "A guy who has lost his mind isn't qualified to be my opponent."
The thick smoke was torn apart as red light flashed by, armor covered in rolling flames like scorched steel.
Xu Xiaoyou ignored him and continued to sprint from the flank toward her target.
"Is that so?"
"Do you know about the Prakin people?" Nanjiamu laughed.
"The race that was annihilated during the company colonial war?"
"Yes. Because we obstructed the company from building civilization in our homeland that we relied on for survival, it was deemed a transgression against civilization and freedom, and so we were annihilated."
"After the race was wiped out, our people were sold all over the world like dogs. Because we are ruthless and always fight to the death, most Prakin people are still locked in cages like dogs today. Whenever a master feels like it, we are dragged into the colosseum to fight wild beasts, mad dogs, or another Prakin person."
"Don't misunderstand; I'm not asking for your pity. I just want to tell you something."
"The Prakin people can never endure humiliation. Every person who leaves a footprint on their face will eventually be strangled to death or have their head smashed by an iron spike."
"Even if I can't be your opponent, I will still tear a piece of meat off my enemy's body."
"From the day I was released from my cage, I swore that whoever dares to trample on my dignity again, I will make them pay in blood!"
Hearing this, Xu Xiaoyou's eyes flickered slightly, but she shook her head and said nothing.
Nanjiamu accelerated the military titan, and pulse currents instantly passed through the guide rails as the electromagnetic cannon was raised. The powerful Lorentz force accelerated the Wind-Demon Tungsten armor-piercing rounds within to thirteen times the speed of sound. As easily as punching through a sandcastle, the buildings on both sides collapsed row by row.
Xu Xiaoyou maneuvered through the falling buildings and leaped out with a burst of power. As the fierce wind whistled past her, Nanjiamu flew by her side and shot into the sky. The cold nuclear reactor suddenly brightened, and beams of destructive thermal energy descended from the heavens, blasting directly into the ground, annihilating everything they touched.
The buildings were scorched and melted, and the sand and stones were fused into crystals. Xu Xiaoyou was still running. In her sight, there was no Nanjiamu, no ruins flashing past on either side, and certainly no drones following close behind. The artillery fire became a blurred background as her vision focused on the back of her target.
Slowly, it became clear.
Hot blood flowed through the veins of the rebel.
