Chapter 447 · Volume 1

Eat My Visiting Battle!

In an instant, the courtyard was sliced by countless fine marks, and even the space itself showed signs of shattering as the girl's phantom retraced Angelina's previous movements, shifting and turning gracefully, while the air hummed from high-frequency vibrations and white slash marks bloomed like scattering flowers!
"She’s so cool."
"Damn, I’m actually a bit impressed by her."
"Is this still the Abyssal White Flower I know?"
"You aren’t the Abyssal White Flower at all; who are you really?"
Bullet screens drifted across in clusters as Angelina calmly sheathed her blade and returned to the center of the group, giving Bai Youyou a triumphant glance, though the latter simply ignored her provocation.
"Congratulations to your team 'Light-Chaser Garden' for winning this Visiting Battle by Overstepping Authority; you have gained 100 victory points and 100 performance points. Current total points: 400."
"Three matches left," Xu Xiaoyou said, holding up three fingers.
"It's my turn, it's my turn!" Akabane exclaimed with some excitement. "Is it my turn next, or Big Sister Tang's?"
"Is there a problem?" Xu Xiaoyou asked Tang Xin.
Tang Xin was the only one among them who had not yet reached grade 3, making her the variable in this qualifying tournament.
Tang Xin shook her head. "Don't worry, Yuzu, I've already found my target."
"Okay," Xu Xiaoyou nodded.
The five of them left the combat space once again.
The perspective shifted to the red-haired girl; under the cover of the flying eaves, a few peach blossom petals were blown from the branches by the wind, tracing a graceful arc in the air before drifting past the moss-covered alleyways and into a small courtyard.
Akabane was playing hopscotch in the courtyard with several young children, sometimes on one foot and sometimes on two, as the children's innocent and playful laughter filled the air.
"Hop, hopscotch."
"In January, jump into the Plum Blossom Room."
"Hop, hopscotch."
"In February, jump into the Apricot Blossom Village."
"Hop, hopscotch."
"In March, jump into the Peach Blossom Spring."
"Jump, hopscotch."
"Nothing is forbidden, the body is strong."
"Slow down, Big Sister, we can't keep up!" a little girl panted, losing her footing and wobbling, only for Akabane to rush over and catch her in time to prevent her from falling.
The little girl poked her head out from Akabane's embrace, her eyes meeting the girl's lively, large eyes, and they both burst into laughter.
"Aoi is always the one holding us back!"
Several children crowded around, pointing and whispering.
"Yeah, yeah, we aren't playing with you next time."
"Cough, cough, cough... I'm sorry."
The little girl apologized, and looking closely, one could see her face had a sickly pallor, her tiny face as fragile as a pottery doll; it seemed she had been frail since she was young, as even slightly intense exercise made her cough.
"Alright now, you guys are being too much, don't bully her," Akabane stood up with her hands on her hips. "Games are meant to be fun, you should play them happily; being so competitive goes against the original intention of playing a game, doesn't it?"
Seeing the girl's eyebrows furrow, the children stood in the corner with their shoulders hunched, nodding obediently under her criticism.
"Furthermore, she's sick, so can't you be a bit more considerate?" Akabane raised an index finger and poked each child's forehead in turn.
"If you were sick and no other children wanted to play with you, and you could only stay home and watch everyone else play, would you feel good?"
"You should think for others once in a while, right?"
The children nodded sheepishly.
Chi Chuchun looked righteous and stern.
In truth, she was the most competitive one among them; whether it was Zerg Star Ocean or the King of Fighters arcade machines, she could never accept defeat, vaguely remembering how her brother had beaten her the very first time he touched the arcade game, leading her to pester him for another match for a long time until he finally agreed out of sheer exhaustion.
She won eventually, but thinking back now, her brother's movements were full of holes that time, incomparable to his first performance.
He must have gone easy on her, right?
Otherwise, she would still be holding a grudge about it even now.
Thinking of her brother, Chi Chuchun's face slumped.
If a child's childhood is boring, they might grow up to be very antisocial, and that would be terrible, wouldn't it?
She certainly didn't want these children to grow up into boring adults like her brother.
Even though she knew these children were nothing more than cold data, every time she saw their pathetic little faces, Akabane felt an indescribable sadness and wanted to make them happy, perhaps because she saw a shadow of herself in them.
"Alright, it's time to go back for lunch, don't let your parents worry," Akabane said softly.
"Then, Big Sister, can we come back and play here this afternoon?" one child asked timidly.
Akabane was stunned for a moment as she saw the children looking at her expectantly, their faces dusty but their dark, clear eyes glistening with hope.
For these children, finally meeting a sister with a lively and cheerful personality who spoke kindly and was willing to play with them was like a little sun entering their dull lives.
"Will Big Sister suddenly disappear?"
"We still want to play with Big Sister."
"We'll finish eating and come back really fast..."
"What are you talking about? Just go already," Akabane said, waving her hand gently.
The children looked glum as they left one by one, clearly reluctant.
Only then did Akabane let out a soft sigh and turn her head, a layer of frost gradually condensing in her eyes.
"Come out."
At that moment, several figures with stern auras stepped forward, wearing high-gloss white and gold religious robes that seemed to have been custom-made somewhere, with imitation Life Daybreak cross badges pinned to their chests, making them incredibly conspicuous wherever they went.
"We are people from the Savior Crowd," the tall figure in the lead spoke, his voice cold like the sound of interlocking gears.
"Oh, so?" Akabane raised an eyebrow.
"Congratulations, beautiful young lady, we have taken a fancy to your pure and kind qualities; you have been selected to be the Saintess of our Savior Crowd, and you will be clothed in glory and experience glorious years, leading our Savior Crowd to defeat all evil and liberate people from this filthy world, just as the prophecy described."
"Sounds pretty good; how many people do you have?" Akabane nodded.
"As you can see," the leader replied.
"Five people? That's a bit fewer than I imagined," Akabane spread her hands.
"What is your decision?"
Is it illegal to beat up mental patients?
Akabane couldn't help but ponder this question deeply.
Where on earth did these five guys calling themselves the Savior Crowd come from?
Wearing high-quality knockoffs of the Life Daybreak Red Cross Crusade missionary robes without even bothering to design a unique logo, then showing up out of nowhere to ask a beautiful young girl if she wanted to be a Saintess... no, according to them, she had been chosen, and she should feel honored?
Is there something wrong with these people!?
Akabane was at a loss.
She rubbed her forehead; whatever, there were plenty of mental patients in this world, and she couldn't possibly settle scores with every single one of them.
Akabane picked up a stone from the ground and weighed it in her hand.
"Have you decided..."
The red-haired girl had not responded for a while, making the man a bit impatient, but before he could finish his sentence, a stone slammed into his forehead as Akabane held a throwing posture like she was tossing a Pokeball.
"Eat my Visiting Battle by Overstepping Authority!"
